The first video game I played was sonic the hedgehog on the genisis. My first videogame that i owned was banjo kazooie for n64. The first game that got me competive was Goldeneye. Ive been playing ever after.

EDIT: Age of empires also helped me into it as well. The first game that got me into online was Age of Empires 2 back in the old MSN Gameing Zone days. Now you gotta go to gamepark or IGZ to play online.

Well, the first video game I played, I think, was "Pong" at a pizza place as a kid....
Others later were Galaxia/Galaga, Donkey Kong, Centipede, Mr. Do, and some helicopter one, all at the bowling alley or arcade or pizza places...

BUT...the first video game I played at my own place, forever etched in my "fond memories place", was The Legend of Zelda on a Nintendo....that always brings a smile to my face...
I remember starting to play it around Christmas (an old girlfriend gave it to me)....several hours later, it was sunrise and I didn't even know I had been playing for several...over 7 or 8...hours straight!

Too old to play for hours-on-end now, though, but Zelda was awesome way-back-when :)

The original Age of Empires. I especially loved the cheat that let you have the rock-slinging Cobras.

Legend of Zelda for NES. I got it and my first Nintendo for X-mas. Before that I had only played in arcades. Elevator Action, Dig-Dug, Pac-Man etc.

The first ever game I played was either "Claw", a side-scrolling platformer featuring a pirate cat as the main character, "Spitball Pete", another side-scroller in which the enemies were beach balls, or the 3D version of Frogger. My first REAL games, however, were Diablo, Half-Life, and Starcraft, but I only got to play those when I was visiting my grandparents and my cousin was around.

My first game was Missile Command on the Atari 2600. I remember playing at a friends house, that game was so cool! I asked my Dad all summer for an Atari after that, finally one day he came home with an Intellivision II !?! Ha, I was mad, until I put in BurgerTime, then it was all better.

Pokemon Red.

I remember spending ten minutes running around in the player's own house, trying to figure out where the heck the door was.

That'll be Pokémon Yellow. Never finished, though. I could never defeat Gary in his strongest form, which is actually the final boss in that game.
