Bulbasaur, but about 2/3 of the way through the game I got bored of Venasaur, so I restarted and chose Charmander.

Friggin Blastoise is the reason I got into pokemon
1. Turtles are my favorite animals.
2. Blue is my favorite color.

Blastoise easily beat the crap out of the other starters. Hydro Pump killed Charizard and Ice Beam ko'ed Venusaur and Drake's entire team in the E4.
