I will buy a game if I know it to have an impressive enough character creation system.
Seriously, I bought every WWE game up to Smackdown Vs Raw 2007 simply for the character customisation.
And when Soul Calibur 4s character creation system turned out to be worse than Soul Calibur 3s, I cried a little.
Yes, I like to make characters.

Also, I talk to named characters.
Like, I frequently tell Niko Bellic off for not listening to me and getting himself killed.
No, it is not my fault.
Nothing ever is.
You got that?

Humm... when playing a game, any game, and I get into the zone, you might as well not talk to me. I will not hear you, I will not feel you, (Though I will likely break your hand for poking me.) I will not see you.
Out of the zone I mutter a lot, and I can't stand playing a co-op game where more then half the team doesn't have a mic.(Though I think that might be normal.)
Although I do dislike the prepubescents with mics... but that is also normal.

Oh, on fallout, I will keep a realistic amount of ammo, I am trying to find a mod that gives ammo a realistic weight. Because being able to carry over 1bilion 5mm rounds is WRONG!(Hyperbole, I have only gotten to having a little over 10,000)

mine is to use the search button
Really? No way! Mine is to call out pricks who drop into a thread to say that despite the search bar yielding nothing similar that has recently been done.

In J/RPGs I tend to... talk to the characters like my voice actually matters in some situations. >_>

Yes, I'm weird.
No...no I do that, I often reply to their questions with somthing insulting outloud, makes the ordeal that much more entertaining I guess.

In most the FPS I play I always train myself to be god-like with my pistol before even worrying about learning my primary weapon. Started this habit in Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear and have continued it ever since.

Oddly enough, this habit has paid off rather well for me. In situations were my primary ammo runs out and I'm forced to switch to a pistol, I feel calm and controled rather than "ZOMG! No Ammos!"

I sit on the radiator and get overly attatched to the character I'm playing as. Not in a creepy way but in the way that it upsets me if they get hurt xD
^This. Thats why if my Shepard dies in ME2, I'll be sad :(

I also tend to yell at my companions in CoD4. If they're about to get killed or shot at I always yell 'Look out!!' as if they can hear me. -_-

Chainsaws... I love using them to the point I should probably seek help. And If listening to Butcher Pete while doing such dastardly deeds... god help me.

I never throw back grenades in FPSs. Ever. I have to run away from it. Even if I know the grenade was not cooked I still don't take the chance, because they always blow up in my hand.

I also always have to have 2 pillows on my left side for my arm. I don't know why but I don't feel comfortable without it.

I also have to move the sofa right up in front of our 40" TV. I just can't get immersed if i'm sitting too far back, I have to have the screen right in front of me so its all I can see.[/quote] well when i play on my original xbox i have to sit within 5 feet in front of my 52"
another one is that i am limited on how i play my violent games, i cant use the 52" tv for stuff like gears of war cause shell find out and take it away to i have to be creative, whitch costs money, so instead of using a 52" tv i get a 17" pc monitor :( but the quality is pretty good though so i sit closer for the full effect

looking through this thread I do a lot of these quirks

but I guess a weird one i have is in any game which you can change the clothing of your party I?ll have my entire party wear matching uniforms

e.g. in Mass Effect my entire crew had to wear onyx amour even though it was worst amour in the game

it just makes them look professional

I haver multiple gameing OCDs. I have others but this is the basic.

1. I have to complete everything.
2. I like my controllers to be clean.
3. I have to be in first person, if the game has it.
4. I have to play the game on the hardest difficulty at least once, no matter what.

I always carry items in increments of 5, and never allow any of them to completely run out. And I primarily play artsy games like Okami.

On most games, I never like to use anything other than the most basic of weapons - if it's an FPS, I never want to use grenades for fear I'll not have enough for when I really need it, and usually do this to the point where I never use them. Or if any game has some sort of super move or power, I don't like using it and leave it stashed away or otherwise unused D:

And I've noticed recently that, whenever I've been playing a game for too long, I start to talk like the character, or at least mimic their speech or something - in playing The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai, your character always cackles when he takes out the chainsaw, and I found myself doing it to... if only because I was about to wreak some faces >:D

I do the same thing. Don't you love OCD?

On the subject of OCD, I do tend to get very compulsive while gaming. For instance, in an FPS, I almost never reload in the middle of a clip, because I simply can't have an odd number of spare rounds; the number of spare rounds has to be divisible by the number of rounds the gun holds. For instance, if my gun holds 20 rounds, I can have 80 spare rounds, but not 81.

you think thats bad?
i have to shut every door behind me while playing a game and in rl the room in in has to have a closed door.
i also (in game) have to swich on a light when i go in a room and turn it bakc off when i go out.
annoying as hell!

Ever since I got a Euro V Rocker I can't play anywhere but on it. Sure its low to the ground, needs a chord, and gets ungodly uncomfortable but I cant stand playing anywhere else just for the speakers right next to my ear.

When I play Silent Hill, every monster I see must die. Even if they don't even notice me, I must beat them down for I won't feel right for the rest of the game.
Isn't the only way to get the good ending in Silent Hill 3 (The one where Heather plays just about the cruelest joke in the world on Douglas at the end) to not kill every single creature? This isn't really pertaining to your post, but It seemed that the requirements for it were similar to that.

I have to play sitting up, the only game i can play while lounging to much or lying down is guitar hero. I'm also a pack rat and have that "I might need this super powerful weapon later" syndrome. I also, especially for FPS, am a chronic quick-saver. Seriously, after every fight quicksave, everytime I achieve full health quickave, run down a hall quicksave. It's not as bud as it used to be though.

Oh and i have to have a beverage nearby, even if I'mnot even thirsty.
