I have a habit of 'talking back' to the in-game characters like I'm adding my own commentary, the only exception so far being Mass Effect as the game already lets me make my own dialouge.

Like someone's even number of ammo thing, I have to have an even number of everything, except for odd numbers I like.

The volume can be for example 42, but not 73. I can have 200 rounds of ammunition, but not 199. I can have 45 grenades in my inventory, but not 47.

Yeah.

Yeah, no one else seems to doo that do they?

Anyway, I would go with just not playing multiplayer. Mainly because I can't be bothered to buy any more controllers for my Gamecube and can't be bothered to buy a console with online playing.

I get to a hard point, give up for a few weeks/months then go back to it and do it first time.

Really? No way! Mine is to call out pricks who drop into a thread to say that despite the search bar yielding nothing similar that has recently been done.
Search Button whores are the biggest pricks on this site.
Amen to that. I actually prefer trolls to those people.

I have this terrible, crippling tendency to be an absolute perfectionist. This comes out worst in western RPGs when I will often spend several hours prior to starting the actual game working out exactly how to build and develop my character(s) from the first level to the last. It becomes doubly frustrating if along the way I figure out a better design for that character or a class that would fit better into the party, at which point I will restart the entire game, no matter how far I am through it, and start again. Unfortunately, because of this, my enthusiasm for the game tends to run out before I actually get to the end. A good example for this is Icewind Dale 2, a D&D game that allows you to create all 6 members of your party and consequently one that I have never mangaged to finish.

I always for some reason have to eat a shitload of candy and diet pepsi. I know that sounds stupid but its really the only thing I could think of other than shouting at my tv if something bad happens during the story or just if I get beat.

What are your gaming quirks? Games you love that everyone else despises, or something you like to do while gaming that nobody else does.

Mine is that I bought Unreal Tournament 3 to play with bots, and do not play it online.

Oh come on, find me the original thread.

This isn't a repeat.

What? Those are all threads about games that you dont and do like.

This is a thread about quirks, which if you've read the content, provides completely different discussion.

Reat the FIRST FUCKING LINE of the topic

If I game on my PC I MUST have a cup of tea or coffee with me.

When console gaming I have to lie down. If I'm not lounging, I fail.

I really only have quirks with FPS's. The TV and single seater chair has to be at the right angle, with my body and hands at the corresponding angle. If the crosshairs aint at the same angle, same height from my eyeline. . .it just doesnt feel right =/

Testify! I want to punch people who just shout "SEARCH BAR" and then contribute nothing.

On the subject of OCD, I do tend to get very compulsive while gaming. For instance, in an FPS, I almost never reload in the middle of a clip, because I simply can't have an odd number of spare rounds; the number of spare rounds has to be divisible by the number of rounds the gun holds. For instance, if my gun holds 20 rounds, I can have 80 spare rounds, but not 81.
Sweet jesus, I'm the opposite. I reload too often -> I can't go into a fight with even one bullet less than a full clip. Does not help when playing Counter Strike.

I talk to NPCs, so in Oblivion when the NPCs are going on about how important it is to get Patrick Stewart's bastard child on the throne, I'm ranting to them about the inanity of a monarchy.

In games where you have a party, I often develop stronger attachments to characters than is normal. In Neverwinter Nights, I loved little Deekin and always gave him preferential treatment, in Mass Effect I wanted to protect Kaiden and send in Wrex to act as cannon fodder rather than risk Kaiden getting hurt.

Also in party-based games where you can give commands (FPS mostly) I'll state my commands out loud while pressing the button to give them in game. So for example in Mass Effect when sending Wrex in to assess the threat in a room I can't see any enemies in, I'll say "Take point" or tell them to "stay here" and so on.

I also get really involved in a game's universe. In NWN I'll always play the same elf wizard because I have disdain for fighters, sorcerers and suchlike and behave in a really arrogant way toward anyone not as intelligent as my wizard.

Not in a creepy way but in the way that it upsets me if they get hurt xD
Double negative? xD

I can't game standing up.

I can't play with grain filters turned on.

I hate my 360 controller having less than two bars of charge left.

I don't like playing Gears of War anymore unless I'm playing co-op with someone in the room.

I get upset at the end of GTA games.

I used to turn the controller like a steering wheel in racing games.

I prefer games to be in 3rd person.

I hate games on the internet. Except for QuakeLive.
