I can never play the bad guy, unless it's mandatory. Killing one innocent in a game of choice (Fallout or InFamous) drives me mad with guilt. I tried blowing up Megaton, only to look on in horror and think "Oh my God, what have I done!?". I immediately reload a previous save and do it again the good way.

None the less I guess that the most quirky thing that I do in a game is that I will try to make a story in my own mind that sort of ties in with the story of another thing I have seen. One of my most favorite ones to do is that the characters of Inuyasha have somehow gotten themselves warped via an interdimensional anomaly of some manner, into the world of Oblivion, and they have decided to join my character on his adventures.

Also this for some reason.

I take the whole 'reload as often as possible' to a whole new level. Frequently on Call of Duty, I will pick up a gun someone's dropped, reload it, realise I don't want it, and swap it back. I mean, what if someone else wants the gun? They'll want it to be loaded.

i screamed playing mirror's edge. twice.
Oh yeah, but the bit where Rope Burn attacks you is shit scary anyway.

I like wasting time in RTSes by building really intricate bases. Especially RTSes which you can build walls in. Ooooh.

Mine is that I bought Unreal Tournament 3 to play with bots, and do not play it online.
I did the same with Counter Strike.

My quirk would probably be that, when I play an FPS on a console, I have to be sitting in a chair leaning forward with my elbows on my knees. Otherwise, I feel like I can't control my character as well and thus play poorly.
Wierd I do that too, with my feet up on a little guitar amplifier so my legs are higher. I always get sore calves lol.

In RPGs I'm greedy, a keep selling and making more money even when I have more than I will ever need.

I also obsessively horde spare weapons for repairs in Fallout 3, I have like 40 plasma rifles in my locker.

That game made me scream too, but not out of fear, out of rage.

I keep saying 'I hate this fucking game' a lot when I fail repeatedly at a difficult part even though I don't actually hate it. Ocarina of time was the most recent one that did this to me a lot...

I also obsessively check the connection during COD4 and will leave any lobby in which I only get 2 bars or less.

I save up finite special items/moves/magic way too much to the point I never use them... in case I need them another time.

I have two major quirks. One is when im waiting for the disc tray to open, I end up clicking my fingers infront of it, like you do ina resturant when asking for a waiter, very odd. My other one is my tendancy to reload alot in shooting games. I reload near constantly cuz I dont wanna be ina situation where I have no ammo in the clip and as im reloading someone shoots me in the face. This is majorly so with shotguns, I love the sound a shotgun makes when its reloading and when you cock it, very sensual lol

this.

Oh, the times i got killed while reloading...

And in RPG's i'm a packing mule and never the bad guy.

edit: hi everyone ^^

Not a particularly weird one, just annoying for others around me. I get very, VERY angry when I lose at a game for reasons beyond my current control, i.e. lag from my wireless adaptor. This is expecially true in TF2 which makes an active point of telling you you suck when you die, with the whole freezecam, dominations, first to get a kill on arena getting five seconds of crits etc. I nearly broke my screen before since I punched it so hard when it lagged whenever I got in enemy sight.

And when a death occurs without me lagging or anything, I'm very cool and calm about it, enjoying seeing my gibs thrown around by a Demo's stickies or whatever else kills me. ^_^

i physically attempt to peak around corners or look over ledges when playing shooters like halo or gears

i insist on teabagging vigorously. simply because i'm just that mature and i think it's funny.

lean into the corners and lean forward to go faster when playing any form of racing game.

i swear like a trucker when i'm excited lol

I can't ever remember hearing people talk to me when I'm gaming, even though I sometimes respond in monosyllables and grunts!

Really other than that and standard controller tilting, muttering, that sort of thing...I'm pretty normal in my gaming habits.

I dont know if this is a quirk but I had garlic cloves in my room when I first played RE4 and some smell remind me of Pokemon, I guess if a game has left enough of a mark on me that I associate it with smells while I played it?

the other time i screamed was when i had my first runner-cop guy [can't think of what they're called] jump on me. scared me shitless.

I always carry items in increments of 5, and never allow any of them to completely run out. And I primarily play artsy games like Okami.
I do a variant of this. If I want to carry only a small amount of a stackable item, I will carry exactly 5. This only applies when I leave whatever safe area/storage place that I can adjust that carried amount; if I pick more up or use all 5 then I won't correct that till I go back for another reason (unless the thing was a critical item, like med kits)

If I'm playing an RTS, I have to research all the upgrades, tech etc. even if I never plan on using them. I just don't like having them there.
I do this, but only when I'm already winning or have a retarded amount of excess resources. It's the random "Burn some unnecessary resources right before the game ends for no reason!" reflex.

Another one: If an RPG allows you to be good or evil, I will ALWAYS finish with the good path first. Not because I actually tried to be that good, but because being a selfish jerk who acts nice ends up with the same result (which I always play some variant of that the first time). I generally only play the hardcore evil side in a Star Wars game.

Probably the fact that the way I sit while playing my 360 involves having the controller not directly visible. It's always obscured by my knee or something.

i dont let things go to waste
in left 4 dead, the bots dont pick up pipe bombs or molotovs, so i pick up anything and throw it anywhere, as long as its used i dont care, it just cant be left to waste.
