OT: 2D fighting games. Picked up SF4 after the longest time of not playing a fighter, and I'm currently obsessing over BlazBlue (whenever Persona 4 doesn't take up half my day already). I am immensely enjoying myself and hope that 3D never becomes the only way.

A more short-term wish would be for another Lambda/Nu type character be introduced for the third game (if not Lambda or Nu themselves). I like Lambda's playstyle.
Well, this 2D fighting game is coming out later this year.

The game's still in development, and they've only got three playable characters with the fourth about to be announced. I don't know if you'll like it. Some people don't care for the character design. But I'm hearing excellent things about the gameplay. The project lead is Mike Z, who's a fighting game tournament champion, and he's also playtests it with some of the best players of BlazeBlue, MvC, etc. It's an option to look into.

The RPG survival-horror. There's barely any left - which is a shame, because RPG elements in a survival-horror-game would easily fit nicely, since you're already scavenging around for neccesary items anyway. Why not scavenging around for Gold, too? The last one I can remember is D.2, which was kind of shit - although E.0, D: No Shotataku and D's Diner never were RPGs, so I don't know why this one decided to be an RPG. And D.2 was released in 2003-ish, so it's been 8 years since I've seen one.

The weapon wheel and health packs, the last game that I remember that had both of those was Resistance 1. Also, shooters that didn't take themselves to seriously...you don't have to be Call of Duty to be good! I kinda miss the classic JRPG setup as well.

nothing would please me more on this earth than to see another game like this appear.
You know the remake "Dungeons" has been released on steam?
No!
NO!
NONONONONONONO!

Dungeons is NOT Dungeon Keeper!
Dungeons is nothing LIKE Dungeon Keeper!
Do not be fooled by its first glance impression.
Its gameplay and concept is entirely different.
And it is by no way any kind of 'remake' of DK.
Saying such a thing is downright offensive.
I agree, stupid dungeons game.

Stealth. Just pure stealth. There's nothing better than perfectly executing a long thought-out plan that you made by studying enemy patterns for the past five minutes. And there is very little that is more exciting than improvising with your few supplies if that plan fails.

What aspect of gaming do you want to preserve? It could be an almost-forgotten genre, a particulary entertaining gimmick, almost anything.
Mine has got to be the space combat simulator. So few games are set fully in space now. Tachyon: The Fringe was the last decent FPS space shooter, whereas Sins of a Solar Empire was a good space strategy, albeit the last good one since Homeworld 2.

So, what's yours?
Did you play Swords of the Stars? It's super awesome space strategy with extensive technology and lots of different ships to design. Later in the game you can build dreadnoughts with like 40 weapon slots, you can select which guns you want in every single slot, and choose different kinds of bridges, specialisations, engines, whatever.

Give it a try sometime!

Space Combat Simulation. SPACE COMBAT SIMULATION!
Haven't seen any since the Rogue Squadron series... Well apart from five minutes in Reach... But those five minutes are nothing like the real deal.
Allegiance, my man. It's alive, it's sort of kicking and it's a multiplayer-only experience, which might put a bit of damper on it.

On my side, I wisht there to be a resurgence of extensive grand strategy TBS games. Things like Panzer General (though the latest one tried to go all 3D and suffered for it) and Emperor of the Fading Suns. Except I'd like a worthwhile system of delegating responsibilities once you get to a certain scale.

Real is not brown!

I want actual color, green grass. Blue skies and white snow.
This.

Color is good.

Look at a game like Halo vs. other fps.

Halo has green grass, amazing skyboxes, etc.

Horror games having their horror being pure thick-as-hell atmosphere, instead of jump scares. Kinda like Hell Night.

I want 2 things:
1 moral choices to evolve/ be made a lot more present
2 for there to be way more in the way of complex characters who have very real stories
Morality is something that makes you go ' dang, my mind is blown up" it makes you examine so many aspects of humanity, making games much more deep and philisophical. I like that a lot, it makes our medium much more respectable, way too go extra credits

Characters simply display rage and testosterone, not that we need to do away with these guys, but have more characters who want more than blood and hate. How about an idealist? Or a Lover? Or a revolutionary person who wants to change the world? Whos with me?
Try Kinghts of the Old Republic. The moral choices aren't terribly complicated, but they work, and the story will blow your mind more than a nuclear earwig.
Hmm, I'll have to give it a try, Btw, ALL HAIL LELOUCH!

One, all the lego love on here is amazing, but I have yet to hear anything about Lego Island 1. Yes, the game was short, and easy, and the controls weren't great. I really liked the atmosphere it created though.

Two, I'd like to see expansive exploration based sci fi games, a la the Metroid Prime series. And by this I mostly mean where you're exploring alien worlds, and not just fighting a war with a race of aliens. If they threw in space combat, it'd would be perfect.

The actual physical game cartridges itself. Ok sure they are preserving right now but I still see some video where they destroy the cartridge. Granted the ones I saw that got destroy were the bad games but one of these days the cartridge that exists in the world but become very small.
