Ant from the duo Ant and Dec has a gran or a caravan or something in my town. He also loves fish and chips.

If you want my actual birthplace then it's probably the maddest, sluttiest place you can venture. Newcastle is party central as far as Earth is concerned.

well I was born in cairns, Australia , nice tropical city full of your favorite blood sucking insects (that incecdentally nearly took my life at age 3) I suppose it is a high destination for alot of people in high places, the queen, several former US Presidents and moviestars. I suppose thats about it, Boonah was an interesting town that I spent most of my life in, although the only famous history was more infamous and concerned a masacre, dont wana go there. Where I am now is an hour's drive from Cairns, Mareeba, its major claim to fame revolves around its use as an Air Base during the 2nd world war and how it luanched Australian and American planes to assist in the battle of the Coral Sea.

My hometown's claim to fame is the Air Force's Boneyard that houses a massive number of old aircraft from several sources. We also have the Air and Space Museum and pantloads of copper in the ground, but the latter is more of a state thing than just my hometown.

Well my home town of Issaquah, Washington. Has one of the two last Triple X Root Beer restaurants in the country. It's a really nice hamburger joint with 1950's Americana decor and a really good menu. Big burgers with fries. It's so good. =3

Fort Worth, better known as cowtown. Gateway to the west and famous for the large amounts of cattle (commonly known as texas longhorns) herded from there to the various parts of the country.

I live in Spokane, Washington state in the U.S.

Birthplace of Chuck Jones, the man that made the Looney Tunes the icons of animation as everyone knows them today.

Also, Spokane was a former holder of the title 'All-American City' for a few years

This thread has reminded me of how shit western TN is. I am now sad.

OT: Well, Mike Snider lives here, and we have an overabundance of sweet potatoes. That's about it.

Ukiah, California. Let' see... We have the City of Ten Thousand Buddahs, AFI was founded here, and we've been mentioned in several books. (The Octopus by Frank Norris, and Youth in Revolt by C.D. Payne).

My home town still has a drive in and also a sizable complex of natural caves. A (non-starting) NFL quarter back is also from my hometown.

We have a 2 headed calf in our museum....

My hometown of Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire is:

Birthplace of the QE2 and Queen Mary (Shipyar'ds a barren wasteland like out of Fallout now).
Used to have both the UKs and worlds largest mechanical and digital clock (Both knocked down and taken away).
The sight of Scotland's Greatest loss of life in WW2 (THIS is the thing the locals remember the most).
Has the world's first sail-thru restaurant (Though hardly anything sails through).

Long running show Taggart (has been running for longer than "Law & Order") occasionally gets filmed there. And a few movies have been, too. Most recently "NEDS" even though IMDB groups the place together with Glasgow in it's filming locations section.

Update: Since visiting again for a funeral, I've also discovered something really awesome.

Just on the border between Clydebank and Glasgow is a DINOSAUR THEMED CRAZY-GOLF COURSE!!!

It's called Jurassic Parr. Look it up. Epic as all hell.

Kelly Ripa grew up in my hometown, and that's about it, I think. Berlin, NJ, in case you were wondering.

My town has a few claims.

-Small farm community near Edmonton, Alberta Canada called Chipman (Near the town of Lamont)
-Oldest buildings are from around the 1920s
-The place is over 100 years old
-Had a fire 50 years ago that wiped out 90% of mainstreet and ALL the businesses which has made the number of successful stores drop down to our SINGLE gas station/convienence store
-Hosts a once a year carshow that has 1000+ attendence every year
-Built a stage and have started hosting band performances every now and again (April Wine was the first band to play the stage in town)
-Plus we have a 'Ukrainian Village' located in the county that gets visiters and tourists from all around the world (Usually Japanese and American, though a African radio station group apparently stopped by last year)

Overall it's nothing really noteworthy, but it's a nice enough place to live if you want somewhere relatively quiet.

Kiruna, Sweden.
I guess its iron mine and its upcoming city relocation that's supposedly the biggest relocation project in the world to date.
There's also some space research going on in the area, but that's fairly minor.
Also, the original Ice Hotel is nearby.

I've heard of people knowing my hometown as the town that has a graveyard feet from a child care center playground with no fences. This is 100% true and nobody ever went in there anyway, so it was fine.
