Honestly I think I've been playing a different game to everyone else on this website.

I found the singleplayer to be amazing and action packed, although a little confusing at first the second playthrough cleared things up I missed and didn't understand, Special ops was a bit of a let down but it did have some really fun missions in it and finally the multiplayer... I hated the multiplayer when it first came out, but after giving it a bit of a break to play other games (mass effect 2) I have found the multiplayer to be much more enjoyable as it seems a fair few of the campers and noobtubers have moved on to play other games as well.

Honestly?
Love it, my favorite game of all-time.
Spec Ops is a ton of fun and I've completed the campaign 3 times already.
It's PC version, btw.

You know, after all the people I saw that claim that the single-player is highly amazing I now understand all the people that use the pot leaves as their emblems, because you have to be high to think that it's awesome. It's extremely short, the plot is choppy and it feels like all they did was copy the story from CoD4 and stole the set of Fallout 3 (compare the Washington Monument from the two games, I swear it's identical).

The multiplayer has enough to make it entertaining. Whether it be upgrading your weapons or unlocking funny titles and emblems. However, I find that it is extremely flawed. The number of glitches and cheaters online is incredible! They piss me off, and Microsoft lags behind everyone when it comes to allowing patches to be released. Personally, despite all of the cheaters I find it too easy. My friend has a K/D of over 1.94; I have a W/L over 2.25; and neither of us cheat. I refuse to cheat. I get so mad at the people that do, that I refuse to lower myself to their level.

Anyways, I could carry on for a very long time. I refused to pay for it, so my roommate bought it for me. I play it because my friends love it, so if you're wanting to play it I won't deny that it is entertaining; but, I wouldn't shell out any money for it out of your pocket.

Ahhh... my honest opinion?
It can be rather fun to play online... if you can find a match.
I think it should be renamed 'Call of Duty: Lobby Warfare', as I seem to spend most of my time sitting in the lobby, searching for a game...
Are you playing on PS3, 360 or PC?
I know PS3 has had a few issues of people sitting in the lobby. My buddy got it for PS3 and spent 10 minutes looking for a game.
(Based on what he said I bought it for my 360, haven't had a problem)

OT: It's a fun game. I enjoy random shoot-em-ups. I love how this game has a 3rd person mode, it's very fun!

I do feel that some guns (the AK47 in particular) are highly overpowered.
I won't say the game is "ZOMG BE57 shoootar ev4r!", but it's very fun.

Heh. I have it on 360.
And your friend is lucky if the longest he has ever waited for a match is ten minutes.
Sometimes it never even finds a game for me. I can just sit there, searching for a match...
probably the most annoying thing about that game for me.

Copy and pasted from an old thread.

MW games, I tried to play the first round a freinds house, I got so bored I gave up slightly after when the nuke's dropped. I watched the same freind play though the second, he completed it in an hour and half. I think that any game that doesn't have a single player that takes ATLEAST a whole day to play though isn't worth a £40-£50 price tag. He still plays the multiplayer, but it dosn't look like it apealls to me at all. Tiny cramped maps were every gun fight is a fastest finger first or whoever gets a grenade off first? I'll pass thanks and stick to Resistance 2, a game with a far better multiplayer in everyway. The only good thing about MW2 is the spec ops, but is game really worth a new realise price tag (that it and even MW1 still have) when you're just buying for what is essentally a gloryfied mini-game?

You're an idiot. If realistic is jumping a 200 foot gap from a perfect ramp at the end of a steep hill on a 400lb snowmobile, if realistic is where a group of 5-6 terrorists can work their way methodically through an airport slaughtering innocent civilians and not get caught or killed, if if you honestly believe that if you shoot a barrel and it will blow up or that you can catch a man falling off an icy cliff face at the last second, if it is realistic that your health magically regenerates after you have so much blood on your face that you can't see what gun you're holding; than I want to live in your reality. That way I can eat free steak all day and crap money (which is pretty much what Infinity Ward does anyways).

I actually like it. All of it. I enjoyed the campaign, enough to do it again which is very uncommon for me to do. I also like the multiplayer so I think it's a good game. I don't see why nobody else does.
Nobody else does? Clearly you mean on the site, because it is probably the most worshiped game I have ever seen.

Anyway, it's pretty good. Spec ops is fun to play with a friend either locally or with headsets. Single player is above average for the 5 hours it lasts. Multiplayer is... It always has a lot of people to play with, which is nice, but I normally like to run around with an assault rifle and revive people, which you can't do. In the multiplayer it is vital to know all the camping spots and there are way too many campers. I really don't like camping/campers.

Odd. I can honestly say, I've never had any problems and haven't heard of anyone having problems (on the 360) finding games.

I do know that you NAT Type needs to be OPEN and not MODERATE, this makes a big difference. If your NAT Type is OPEN, then you shouldn't be having any problems finding games, but if your type is OPEN and you're still having problems finding games, then I have no idea what's wrong.

I don't really like Activision, but I do like the Modern Warfare series. I don't really ever have issues online and I think its fun. The campaign was shorter than I imagined, but Spec-Ops is fun. Overall I would give it a 4/5

ITS A SHOOTER, arguably the best shooter to-date, but still its just a shooter, once u get bored with "bang headshot" you're prettymuch just grinding to unlock things, which is like...well any game....ever.

actually, i have trouble finding games too, its no small secret that the 360's matchmaking servers are sub-par (for MWF2 anyways)

honestly? it was an ok game, it had it's good points, it had it's bad points and apart from the masses of enemies and the fact that half the time moving your head gets you shot it was decent on single player even if it did lack the gritty feel and atmosphere that mw1 had quite a bit of.

multiplayer? well i'm on ps3 so for a free online it's quite good but then again i've nothing to compare it to, i like it though

It's a game with a tremendous amount of untapped potential. It's plagued by glitches and balance issues. It has one of, if not the worst community in all of gaming (at least on 360 side), only rivaled by the screaming masses of the Halo community. I truly believe it could be a GREAT game if a lot of the killstreaks were toned down a bit, grenade launchers and the Commando perk were taken out entirely, and Shotguns were returned to Primary Weapon status like they should have been in the first place.

As it is now, you're either playing against campers, glitchers, knife/shotgun guys running around, or noob tubers. There are very few people playing legitimately in MW2, because playing legitimately isn't rewarding enough.

Good campaign, but way too short and the Spec-Ops is fun but can be really frustrating at times.
Have not played enough multiplayer to pass judgment.

Someone didn't notice I said MW2's plot was over the top. Meaning NO SHIT MODERN WARFARE 2 ISN'T REALISTIC! I'm point out the fact neither Modern Warfare's were realistic with my statement and when people whine about MW2 being less "realistic" than the first one is like saying Back To The Future one is more realistic than 2. One may be less over the top, but it's not like it has less can of happening than the other, because they're both pretty far-fetched to begin with.

Bleh. Campaign was way too jumpy for the first half and didn't really connect at all, and the city with Burger Town looked cartoony. Didn't risk my PS3 on trying to play multiplayer...
