Yeah they're good ideas.Cheeze_Pavilion said:Yeah--VATS is *almost* there: maybe if you can always use VATS, but when you run out of AP, your accuracy goes way down so the choice between FPS and VATS is important, but it'll be different from an all VATS/slowly replenishing AP system in that the game won't screw you by letting you use all your AP and then another raider you didn't see jumps from behind a mailbox or something.miracleofsound said:I agree with almost every point you made, though I will opine to you that I feel VATS does not really equate to turn based combat as the numerical and mathematic focus is undermined by the ability to fire off a few shots, duck behind a corner and wait for your AP to recharge.
Maybe make AP more like follower HP: it goes right back up after all the hostiles are gone. Maybe give you two AP 'ceilings': one that you start a fight with, and a lower one that represents the max you can replenish with hostiles around?
I also think it would be nice to have two different aiming mechanics, one for item collection/ home deco and another more refined one for combat (the manual aiming in F3 was woefully bad).
