In WoW on a PvP server (playing Horde) I found an Alliance and after he helped me fight off a couple bears we helped each other for about 2 hours.

I saved some one on my 7 day trial of WoW. They where surrounded by some monsters about to be killed and I ran in and took most of the damage so they could escape. I died and ran around as a ghost for a while. It was probably the most fun part of that morbid week.

In Dark Ages of Camelot I was in a dungeon farming junky magic items so I could break them down for crafting equipment. While I was at my camp I saw a bunch of people run threw so they could go to the lower level. Then about 10 minutes later they ran past again and 10 minutes later again. Finally they stopped in the room I was camping and one of them asked me if I could escort them to the bottom because they kept getting overwhelmed and killed on the way down. I agreed and it was actually fun fighting off the mass amount of mobs on the way down.

----------------

Now the nicest thing someone had done for me was also in Dark Ages of Camelot. I had just reached level 49 the in the morning (something like 10am) and announced it on my alliance chat (level 50 is cap in the game) A person I never met or talked to before congratulated me, and offered to party with me to help me along my way to 50. Well she spent about 4 hours with me doing quests until finally I got level 50 (which level 50 in 4 hours is insane in that game) Me and Her became close friends and always hung out in game, and any chance we got to party together in the future we did. Probably the best friend I ever had in a MMORPG.

Mine was in Rome: Total War.

I had just defeated the last general of the Greeks as the British, as his remaining army retreated I could have easily destroyed the remanents with my archers but chose insted to let him escape to his City, and for Greece to become a prtectorate.

I'm Too Kind.

I am usually a saint in any online game I play. I have only been a jerk in two games in fact: Red Dead Redemption and Fable (For The Lulz. And whenever I play Grand Theft Auto Doesn't count, cause your suppose to be a jerk in that).

A couple years back in WoW, there were some bad guild breakups on my server that really upset the population. At the time, my guild was in the number one slot by a mile and we felt bad that pretty much every other organized guild below us just fell apart (not that it was our fault or anything, but nonetheless we felt bad). The better players that had been in those guilds either quit or left the server so there was a huge talent vacuum in our raiding community.

What we ended up doing was starting a program we called "Adopt a Noob" where a few of us would take a bunch of inexperienced raiders and run them through a raid instance on an off night that you wouldn't normally do with a pick-up group. The result was a group of players that were more aware of how things worked and could experience a really well-organized raid. We ran this for a few months and by the end there were a couple new guilds that popped up that ended up being relatively competitive on our realm.

I constantly help people in Diablo 2 L.O.D. I rush and do quests for people and ask nothing in return. I also make those "free" games in which I throw on the ground every item that I have collected but had no use for.

I once gave away a full Tal Rashas set.

In turn, the game has always been kind enough to drop everything I need.

I used to give gold out to lvl 1 characters on WoW - Back before gold farming and alternate characters were prevalent.

This goes for games like Hitman, Thief, Sly Cooper, Metal Gear.
There was a time in Metal Gear Solid 2 near the end where you had to get somewhere in a time limit and I noticed a guard and he didn't notice me... I knew I would never have to go back into that room and never see him again, but for some reason I just decided to kill him. You might know him as the guy in the one room with all the conveyor belts who was listening to headphones and not even paying attention to you at the end of the game... but I shot him in the head and I immediately felt awful. So I ran outside and jumped right off of the ledge so when I respawned I walked over to where he was, looked at him for a couple of seconds, and then ran off and let him live. Ever since then, I feel bad about killing someone and if I can I never shoot anyone who doesn't shoot me first.

This is single player and this may be a bit strange but on Pokemon I walked up to a random person and started talking to them and they said "Oh, you want to buy something? Hold on a second... ok what would you like?" and they weren't selling anything I wanted but I bought two net balls because I felt bad about making that person set up shop and then not buying anything... maybe I'm just weird.

For online, I often play a medic in Bad Company 2 and I will run out into battle to defib someone who just died even if it means me dying as well.

Me and my friends like playing a Halo 3 custom infection gametype called Fat kid. In short, the alpha zombie is really slow but has 2000% damage resistance and 4x overshields. The fat kid chases the other players through a maze of obstacles. Everyone the fat kid kills becomes his fast and weak minions. At the end of the maze you can get out to an area unreachable to the Fat kid without the help of his minions.

Now what I usually do is that after completing the maze, I lead a small group of survivors back through the maze again and see what happens, just to be fair to the zombies. Now this is almost always a complete suicide run, since getting through the fat kid and his small army of minions is almost impossible. But, it advances the game and keeps the zombies happy, so I do it. So basically rushing fat children is my act of kindness.

Well I don't play multiplayer, so... um...

In Fable 1, while on an evil playthrough, I was gonna kill that merchant running away, but when I caught up with him he 'thanked me for saving him' and gave me a resurrection potion. I was dumbfounded and let him escape.
Lol, you fell for the oldest trick in the book!!! YOu need to go find him and teach him no to trick you like that again.

OT: Probably something online, like healing someone in L4D when they needed it badly, or helping out lower levels in WoW when they ask.

Some poor American child, about 11 years old, (who wasn't an annoying, racist, ear-shatteringly whiny voiced, little *****) was getting abuse from some Scouser (Liverpool) for being American on GTA 4. (Okay, okay, maybe he shouldn't have been playing it but I digress)

I mean, I know I'm English, and should side with the English; but this Scouser was being such a cock towards this kid, and he sounded truly terrified.

So I told this Scouse bastard to fuck right off and helped this kid hunt down the bully and kill him endlessly. The kid felt great and that wanker ended up rage-quitting. We did a cyber hi-5, he thanked me and then we parted ways pretty quickly. It was worth it, if not just because it was fun.

[sub]DISCLAIMER: I don't have any problem with people from Liverpool. Don't flame me.[/sub]

Sometimes I help new players in EVE out in their mission because they overestimated the difficulty of it a bit. That, and I once ran away from a player in MW2 because I've shot him so many times that I thought it was no fun anymore for both of us.
