Probably the straight up rogue/hunter class. It never really feels natural for me to be dodging all over the place when I can just have armor and a shield to take up the brunt of the damage. If I were ever to play that kind of class, I'd at least have some magic with me.

I never play pure classes. Back when I played wow I always rolled something that could tank or heal, no pure dps things like rogues or mages. Now I don't play a whole lot of rpgs, but my skyrim characters all combine stealth, melee and magic styles to some degree.

Bard, Rogue, Ranger never played them, never will.
a good sword + board, or spell trumps all for sheer play-ability imo

looking after arrows, sneaking around at 10% speed, and singing lulabys is just not my idea of fun

mostly i'll pick a druid or mage, very occasionally a warrior type but never in an mmo

you could best describe my skyrim character as a paladin with two swords, for example
it will smite people, heal itself and then go berserker on something

Videogames : Bard-like characters, because they usually end up singing songs in the back while the other characters share the glory and fun. Perhaps I would consider playing a Bard if the game contains enough speech and charisma challenges to make it interesting.

Tabletop : Monks or Martial Artists in general, because they're generally restricted in what weapons/armors/special items they can use, plus some of them must obey strict poverty vows or lose their powers. Looting and finding/using treasure is one of the prime reasons why I enjoy these games in general, so I won't play a class that prevents me from doing that. I want Vorpal Electric Swords of Badassery +5, not learn the Wonderful Palm of the 53 Winds of Wisdom.

Amen brother! I love playing mages, as well. What is that you say? Damage? Here: firaballs. Oh, sneaking? Invisibility. You have a tough time fighting this guy and his minions? Well, let me just mind control a couple of puppets there.

Mages are just too good to pass up.

But my least played characters are probably fighters. They can...fight. Awesome. I somehow don't see my character only swinging a weapon for the majority of their life - it seems boring. Because that's what fighters do - they swing weapons. Occasionally they...no, that's really everything to them.

Oh, and I have a special place for paladins. I dislike paladins in pretty much all games. They are so smug and think they are right. The fact that they are figters with spells just makes them seem sad.

Mage: I can turn myself invisible, teleport directly into his room, stop time- then banish him to the vacuum of space.

Barbarians or any similar class that is melee and little armor. Or any class that uses health as a resource, like a blood mage.
Prefer mages or swordmages or rogues.

Overall melee classes arn't something I play unless they are relatively squishy compare to the other melee classes. I don't like the tradtionally more highly survivable/tanky classes, I'd rather just let some-one else be beaten to a pulp while I stand a good distance back to either pummel an enemy with magic or fix up the tanky characters so they can take more blows to the face.

Warriors are probably my least played RPG class. I find them too straightforward and boring, rarely anything interesting to them. I like stealth classes most, being able to pick my targets, disappear if I need to and such. My favourite are marksmen, being able to take out a target without it ever knowing what hit them. Particularly enjoyable in games that support stealth, like the Elder Scrolls series, sneaking to a good position, then picking off my targets. The strategy involved is usually more interesting than just running in and bashing someone's skull in and in online games, to be fair, I need the advantage as my reflexes aren't exactly top notch (I'm not terrible, not by a long shot, but I'm also not an expert at twitch gameplay)

Ive always hated playing as an assault mech in the table top game Mech-Warrior. Yes they have lots of armor and really big guns but they are to slow for my taste. I like a nice medium or light mech (Only mediums after Clan Invasion)that can move around and and sill have a nice gun or two. might not be able to take as much damage but they are a lot harder to hit ;)

I love putting on a suit of armor getting a cool ass sword and slicing everything that moves to little bits if it looks at me funny.

I also love setting them on fire as well, fireballs are lots of fun. my ideal class is a mix of might/melee and mage/magic so i never use the rouge classes. i Tend to favor my classes 2/3 melee in your face slice and dice, and 1/3 burn your face off and cast energy balls up your a**. as such bows/ guns stealth isn't my thing.

A support/healer class (cleric, paladin, bard ect ect) followed by anything that damages from a range (Mage/Sorcerer/Wizard, Archer/Ranger blah blah). I prefer to actually be in the front lines backstabbing and get gore and blood on my avatar's fictional skin with the strength of my fictional arms rather than standing on the backrow looking pretty with magic glowy hands or scoring a headshot between a mooks legs which richochets off of a shield and does a loop.

BARDS!! Oh look I'm going to charm this Ogre -_-" Unfortunately this is almost the only thing a bard can do, except on a RP point of view where it can be very hilarious.

Also mages, i do have fun playing them but damn they are so freaking unbalanced at some point, "Hey dude let me smash that monster with my sword" "Nope sorry already carbonized them and sent them to another dimension, your just too slow'

My least played RPG class is definitely the Mage. In single player games, I can't help but feel that everything is going to instantly murder my fragile behind. In multiplayer games I can never feel quite safe since I don't like the idea of trusting other people with my survival. Also, in certain games being a Mage can sometimes be too complicated for my taste or the mage is simply overpowered. The only game where I played a mage was Dragon Age Origins with it's not-so-quick battles and single-player party system.

I really like the idea of a mage, being all-powerful, but I can't shake the feeling of being completely fragile and just one quick stab away from death.

Finally, someone reading from the same hymn sheet.

Look guys, overcoming your problems by flexing your biceps was only really necessary or useful before we started to invent stuff.

The fantasy equivalent of invention, taken up to 11? Magic.

We can't run fast enough to suit our needs IRL? We invent vehicles. Which in turn invalidates your physical strength for the most part as it relates to travel.

You can't run fast enough to suit your needs in an RPG? You magic your ass to where you wanna be instantly *with* whatever you wanted to bring with you. That invalidates your need for *limbs* as it relates to travel, forget about strength.
