Oddly enough, none of my friends have either heard or are into Mastodon. Their loss.

On the flip side, I'm one of the few people that I know that really doesn't care that Steve Jobs died. Everyone seems to be going out of their gourd of this.

For me? It's anime... ALL anime.

I have literally NO friends that are into anime, at all...

Come to think of it, only a few people I've ever MET have been as into anime as I am... maybe five or so... and I'm not exactly what one would call an Otaku...

Majesty: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim

No one loves you like I do, baby.
Oh my god, less than 10 responses so far and already two other Majesty fans. Where did you people come from?

Anyway, that would have been my thing but it seems I'm not so alone as I thought.
Ahh man I love the game. I only wish I had a computer to play it on now. Damn Macs, your so awesome but useless when it comes to most games.

Again it's another game I can't play due to being a Mac. But I love Knights & Merchants. A truly great RTS game filled with micro managing. And tough, I've never beat level twenty, the last level. Damn that traitor who flies the black flag. One day *shakes fist*.

Battlestar Galactica (The revision). None of my friends like sci-fi dramas. They're all into crap like Jersey Shore or some other reality show.

Whoa, crazy bizarre, we should start an unattended user group or something! I don't seriously collect anymore though, just get new cards through Shonen Jump and trading with my brother (Currently running a relatively mediocre Macro deck because Black Luster Soldier cam back, was running Quickdraw Plants because I love plants so much). I actually follow the anime too, it's absurdly awesome, although Zexal isn't as cool as 5D's it was growing on me (Haven't watched it since Episode 15).

Seems like the only people I meet on the web that are any interested in Yu-Gi-Oh! are just fans of the Abridged Series (Although I love that too).
I haven't played the card game in years. Nobody to play it with, so I haven't had need to upgrade my deck or anything since I last bought one, so I've still only got the basic Marik Structure Deck (only got that one because Marik is my 2nd favourite villain and I don't think there's any Bakura decks...). Plus I never really learnt the really advanced stuff so all that stuff you just said went right over my head.

But I absolutely love the anime. Currently re-watching it actually; just about to start the Battle City story arc. It's kind of amazing how well it's held up over the years. Last time I watched it I was just a wee young-un, but it's still enjoyable. And not just because of nostalgia like I expected, it's genuinely a good show.

Still, I haven't seen beyond Series 4 of the regular show, so I have no knowledge of the sequel shows (going to watch them once I'm finished with all 5 season of the first show).

And yeah, people only seem to know Yu-Gi-Oh nowadays because of the Abridged Series. Which I will agree, is incredibly awesome.

The Cinema Snob. I guess it's fitting that I'm the only one in my school who likes a series about a snobby exploitation film critic.
I'm with you on that one. Dude is awesome. Plus... my god, the voice!

True, but as long as they simply produce twice as many series as other shows I don't mind.

Well, add another to that list. I spent all of a weekend by myself watching the DVD set of Red Dwarf. And to make things even better, Dave the TV channel has confirmed that another series will broadcast next year.

For me, my only lonely fandom is Yu-Gi-Oh. Nobody else understands why I enjoy it, but I really do. The cartoon show is awesome and the real card game is damn entertaining. If only I had people to play it with, but I haven't played against anyone since I was in school.

Buh-WHHHAAAAAAAA!!!??

Holy crap, there are others...

EDIT 2:

My other lonely fandom would be D&D... that is if I played it like I really want to. Guarantee none of my friends do, so yeah.
You can add another to that list of Yugioh fans.

I haven't watched the show itself since the original series (although I did watch a bit of GX). But I recently rediscovered my love for the card game. I bought the latest DS incarnation, and I've been hooked since then. Kinda surprised how much the game has changed since the old days.

Yeah, the DS games are pretty much the only card game action I get. Used codes to get my real life deck into the game, so I'm all good to go on those things. Except the computers are either piss-easy or god-modding, psychic-level hard. And nobody else in my vicinity ever plays them online so I can't go Wi-Fi.

And yup, it's changed a load. when I last played against a real life person it was years ago and the game was still basic. Now there's all kinds of new crap involved. Just hows how good the game is that a card game based on a manga/anime has kept going and kept developing over so many years.

Gundam in any incarnation and Metal Gear Solid 4. I have friends who watch all different sorts of anime like the high school serieses, naruto, hellsing and far more obsucre stuff as well and yet still none of them enjoy any gundam series much at all. And for Metal Gear Soild 4, possibly my favorite game ever, I only know my best friend has played it, and found it so-so. All my other friends won't touch it because of its stealth genre or they can't because they have an xbox/pc only.

As for me, I would have to say Reboot. Season 3 in particular was one of the best things on TV ever! They took what was up to that point just a silly CG kids show with a bunch of nerd references, and leveled it up into an awesome season-long epic story arc. I still think the fight between grown-up Enzo and Megabyte in the third-to-last episode is the best TV fight scene ever. Sadly, not many people I know were into that show.
I come form the Net. Through systems, peoples, and cities, to this place Mainframe. My format? Guardian, "To mend, and defend". To defend my new found friends, to defend them from their enemies. People say the User lives out side the Net, and inupts games for pleasure. Noone knows for sure, but I intend to find out! REBOOT!

(Yes I did that all from memory)

I loved that show when I was a kid, and was seriously disappointed when they didn't give it a real ending. :(

Its cold outside, there's no kind of atmosphere,
I'm all alone, more or less.
Let me fly, far away from here,
Fun, fun, fun, In the sun, sun, sun.

I want to lie, shipwrecked and comotoase,
Drinking fresh, mango juice,
Goldfish shoals, nibbling at my toes,
Fun, fun, fun, In the sun, sun, sun,
Fun, fun, fun, In the sun, sun, sun.

Exo-Squad. I love that show, have since I was a kid.

Also Space: Above and Beyond.

A lot of the people I've met with similar interests haven't even heard of them, I cannot express how much a person should watch these series. The only bad thing about either of them is that they ended unfinished as they were both cancelled.
Loved Space: Above and Beyond. "Wan, waht are you waiting for? My balls to come down." (After a HALO insertion)

OT: I'm a self confessed gun nerd. My interest lies in thier pure functionallity, but when people find out, they figure I'm a psyco waiting to snap...that gets annoying.

I also happen to like KMFDM which basically nobody has heard of or they don't like it. I'd have to think very hard to find something only I like, there's just too many people in the world for that.
KMFDM Sucks! Heh, was actually listening to Slick Idiot while reading that, not quite KMFDM, but you know what I mean. And yeah, there seems to be so few KMFDM fans, although I have met another person who likes them on here. But generally not as into them as much as I am (They're my favorite band)

Original topic: Honestly, I don't think I obsess over anything enough to classify it as a fanatical devotion... Maybe I'm a fan of equality? Guess that makes me a minority, heh.

I'm pretty much the only person that I'm in regular contact with who likes Starcraft at all. And by "likes" I don't just like it casually. When I play, I play to get better. I watch tournaments and become legitimately giddy when some weird strategy wins against something conventional. I actually enjoy Starcraft as more than just another game I play, and I'm the only one I know (IRL) who does.

My particular obsession and the very big thing that I am a massive fanboy of is the film and book Let The Right One In. I also have the 4 main novels the writer has aswell. I am... pretty much the biggest fanboy of it you could get. No one I know loves it as much as I do... and nobody understands why I love it so much.

EDIT: Oh and Radiohead aswell is my absolute favourite band. I don't really know anybody personally who adores them as much as I do. They are just so god damn beautiful...
