Fucking super mutants. Especially in Vault 87. (Where I am currently at.) I don't know why, but they have been so quite in there, and almost all of them manage to sneak up on me and make me jump out of my seat. So far, the only way to "de-fang" them is with a couple bullets to the head.

oh, and ghoul reavers. the first time i met one i thought it was a regular roamer so i let it get close (hmm..) and blasted it in the face with a shotgun (to save my A3-21 rifle's ammo of course) when it only took one bar of health off the 30 or so bars that are there, i was worried. then it swiped me, and i was knocked backwards and 1/4 of my health disappeared.
i ended up wasting 10 alien blaster rounds and all my stimpaks trying to kill it. not cool, bethesda, not cool.
of course, at level 30 it's not so bad now, they're relatively easy to put down with a normal energy rifle...but still. much respect must be paid to some of the new fallout 3 enemies..

..deathclaws are a joke.

I only played vanilla, so I have no experience with this "Feral Ghoul Reaver" you speak of. My character is a Ninja-Bruiser. Sneak attack with a Deathclaw Gauntlet is usually enough to kill someone, but I have enough durability to fight him in the event that the target gets to live on. I down Behemoths bare handed (quite literally, I have Paralyzing Palm). Deathclaws and Yao Guai are easy prey. I just lure them and Moonwalk while laying mines in front of me. Crippled monsters are easy prey. Then life got a heckuvalot easier once I got the Dart Gun.

I'm saying that there is no creature I've encountered that can't be killed without proper preparation.

It used to be the deathclaw, but recently ive become such a high level that they are barely even a threat, and a I cant say behemoth because ive wiped all of them out.

All these DLC beasts make me glad I faked my way through Broken Steel. Why fight the beasts when you can walk right past them. Yes cowardly I know, but in real life, I would do the same damned thing.

Anything that jumps at me in the darkness. After soiling myself, I usually de-fang my threat by launching simultaneously 8 nukes in their face.

Albino Scorpion hands down, I've seen one take out a behemoth, and it takes 5-6 fcking tesla cannon shots to kill one.

I hate those revers, Had to Fatman the bastereds. My computer's most hated eneimy is the fire ants, LAAAAGGG.
How are deathclaws that bad? 2 shots with the terible shotgun and they are dead, 4 or 5 shots on veryhard, but still its an easy kill.

Feral Ghoul Reavers - me (level 26, Tesla Cannon/Alien Blaster), Charon, AND Fawkes were reduced to piles of irradiated man-giblets by three of the buggers before I could say "WHY WON'T YOU FUCKING DIE!?!".

Deathclaws too though, after Old Olney and having my entrails pulled out through my nose countless times. I nearly shat myself every time I turned around to see my mind-controlled Deathclaw minion about six inches from my character's nose while wandering around the Enclave Mobile Platform. I was almost glad when it died.

Deathclaws, though Yogi Bears freaked me early-game.

I don't like Brahmins. They upset me, looking all starving and diseased, I want happy cows dagnabbit!
Good cheese comes from happy cows. Happy cows come from California.
What the hell?!? Why did I laugh so hard at this. Must check calibration of humor settings...

Back to topic, I gotta agree with everyone who said fire ants. They kicked the crap outta me the first time I stumbled across them. Stupid ants. At least deathclaws looked scary the first time I encountered one.

I had a the best scariest random encounter. I was escorting somebody (i think his name was ronald) through the wastes. its an unnecessary thing to do as he always dies no matter what but i wanted to see how far i could get him. We ran into a giant rad scorpion which was no big deal. Ronald was off screen but i could see his marker when it suddenly disappeared and there was nothing near him. Then a deathclaw come jumping on and killed a nearly full health giant rad scorpion in one hit.....

Yeah that was scary and I haven't gone to Old Onley since for fear of random jumping deathclaws...

Every time I make a new character now I go to Superdupermart for loot after selling most of my vault 101 gear in Megaton. Every time I get there I come across the refrigerator and Giant Radscorpian random encounter.
Save the game a bit away from the building, then you can choose what encounter you want (they are randomly loaded when you get close enough)
I loaded untill i got the deathclaw :p and blasted the cars when it was in between em' ^^
deathclaw glove @ lvl 3 ftw!
