NO! THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE! I CANNOT BE KILLED!!! NOOOOOOOOOO

*blasted in a huge fireball*

Or.

- My ultimate technique!! YOU ARE FINISHED!!!

boom, booom, booooooom

- There's no way he survived, he must've been destroyed!

Within 15 seconds to 3 episodes from now:

- You thought you could defeat me? Insert Cliche Phrase (worst case - "You are too weak to destroy me!", best being "IT'S MY TURN NOW!!").

Also, what Bleach, Dragon Ball, Slayers and others do - show a super-strong character, then show another even more super character, then EVEN STRONGER.

In Slayers:

Oh, no, it's Gaav, the Demon Lord!! We can't defeat him!!

(mysterious character kills him in 5 seconds after appearing)

Oh no, it's the Hellmaster! We totally have no chance now!!!

(5 minutes before the end of the last episode, new power of the protagonist destroys the previous boss)

IT'S THE MOTHER OF DARKNESS, LORD OF NIGHTMARES... this is getting ridiculous, she's the most powerful being in the universe! Or... could she be just under the top... Well, we'll never know.

I hate it when an anime is like "lol, let's put the main character in embarassing situations all the time xD". It's supposed to be funny but I'm really annoyed by it.

Girls with oversized jubblies and over-reactions by the characters. It gets annoying after awhile.

I'm not sure if this is a cliché, or more of a subversion, but I really hate it when a great character loses a fight and then pretty much becomes the butt-monkey for the rest of the series, despite having just as much drive to fight as anyone else in the series if not more.

The only example of this that comes to mind is Elfen Lied, but I'm sure there are plenty of others.

The abstract endings that make no sense and make you wonder why you just spent hours and hours on a series that has a conclusion you can make nothing of. For instance Last Exile and Neon Genesis Evangelion!
The entire point of Neon Genesis Evangelion is making no sense whatsoever just so fanboys will froth at the mouth and scream about how deep it is. Greatest scam ever, really. :p

How Anime's have the main character want to be the best at something but they NEVER will get there.

I hate when a show with a good idea is ruined by being childish or perverted.
Seikon no Qwaser is the best example. I loved the idea of characters each having their own element from the periodic table, but I couldn't watch more than five minutes without wanting to pull my hair out from the obsession with breasts.
Echi. My god the Echi in some anime can cause me to almost throw up. Gurren Laggen is a massive example of this. For something even worse try Negima. I am currently forcing myself to read the god-awful manga for a reason I can't remember. Maybe I'm schizophrenic and my other me is a sadist.

It's been a while since I've watched a serious action anime, so I don't think I have one or know what it is at the moment. I'm drowning in Slice of Life shows instead (I should go back to watching Nanoha).

I've pretty much sworn off of shonen anime completely just because I can't stand the "Defeat bad guy, get thrashed by new bad guy, train like hell, defeat new bad guy, rinse/repeat" routine.

As much as I'm on the side lines with anime, there is one without question I love and that is Cowboy Bebop. I don't usually engage in this kind of fanboy reflex and let people be entitled to their points of view and generally get on with my live BUT THIS CANNOT GO UNCONTESTED. You ma'am can go nail your taste in animation to you side of a freight train because cowboy bebop is the best animated series to come out of Japan and to use its image to enforce a negative opinion is a sin against all things holy, just and not made by committee.
Don't take any of this to heart, I just really like Cowboy Bebop
So you basically had a fanboy spazout over the fact I used an image from your oh-so-beloved as an example to my point and not the point itself? Really?

I would have gone with another Mexican standoff from any other kind of anime, I just happened to have that one lying around my photobucket folder and wasn't going to go through the headache of sorting through heaping piles of shit images just to find a good one when I have a good one lying around already. Call me lazy, but I'm tired of searching for the better part of an hour just looking for something decent, only to find that the thread I was going to post in is now dead.

Are you talking more about Pokémon or InuYasha here?
Along with Yu-gi-oh, One Piece, Naruto etc.

Ridiculous bloodspill is annoying. You see characters losing buckets of blood and still being alive, and its just stupid. Also, "To be continued..." at the end of every episode. Just pisses the shit out of me.

The biggest problem is downpowering. In Bleach, the main character achieves "Bankai", an ability that gives him super speed. He is able to defeat the main bad guy in two or 3 episodes.

Afterwards in EVERY FIGHT the main character goes Bankai and gets the crap beaten out of him, usually.

Filler also suck. I think there should be a rule of manga: it can only become anime when it's finished.

Ironic considering your avatar is from Gurren Laggen.
