Meh. Not much of a forum goer, I haven't the foggieset idea. People are not nearly as cool as on Gamekapocs, but that's a Hungarian game review site. And out of the I dunno how many reviewers they got, only 2 of them make reviews that are actually worth reading.

When in fact the opposite is true, this place is a dump, there's next to no particularly interesting discussion, and if you try to make it be prepared to have your comments quoted completely out of context by the inevitable wave of opening posters followed by everyone else copying those opinions.
Most of the people here are fairly easy to get along with. One of my first friends on here I got to be friends with after a debate about self defense in school. Sure, we called each other morons, they called me an overeager brute, and I called them a pacifistic hippy who was more likely to die than defend themselves (I'm paraphrasing of course) but after the argument, we both realized that each made valid points and became friends.
Most of my other friends happen to post on threads I'm interested in and are, as a rule, generally good people. I think that the trolling and flaming and such doesn't seem to be as bad here, or at least not on the threads that I generally visit. I like the Escapist community. I wouldn't say we're any better than any other site, but there seems to be an unspoken bond of sorts between the members. I mean, how many other "I need advice/help" threads do you see on other forums that are met with actual advice/help instead of the wall of flame or horde of trolls?

There's a few users I've seen and I'm completely baffled to why they haven't been banned yet.

The Escapist is a place you can discuss things, and generally people will actually discuss without resorting to "fuck U n00b go suck a dick" as an answer. That's so much better than the majority of forums I've ever visited.
What I don't like is the sheer number of faux-cynical kids (because c'mon, we all know it's kids) who feel the need to mention in every single post that humans are shit and they hate people and everyone is a cold, dead monster in their heart-of-hearts. Seriously people, you hate everyone else that fucking much then stop socializing on the internet.

We seem to be generally centre-left around here. You get a fair amount of right-bashing, but for the most part people's views don't seem that far left. I've seen people endorse communism, but then I've also seen people endorse fascism or anarchy or even a decently large amount of people espousing right-wing views. Unfortunately, several of them are probably trolls, though not all of them!Wabblefish said:

It's nothing special. In most threads you just reply and your post gets lost in a sea of posts that no one bothers to respond to. TBH this place seemed good at first but really this place is ultimately boring because theres little to no discussion. Everything is just wave after wave of "this is my opinion" and the only discussion seems to be either "i disagree with your opinion, however I accept that you are entitled to your own" or "I disagree with your opinion, therefore you are a troll". But here's the worst part: even when there is a discussion, absolutely nothing happens. Nothing that hasn't been said before is said and the "debate" turns into longest post wins shit. No one learns anything new. No one changes their minds. Nothing.
There's a baffling amount of needless posts too, many people will leave the same response as many others have. The absolute worst case of this is when you lot think someone is trolling, so everyone posts "TROLL, MOVE ALONG" and then that thread becomes the most active on the website, which has happened a few times. Another irritating case of this is when someone posts a thread relating to a certain game and some stupid **** comes along for no apparant reason and informs us that they don't own that particular game. What the fuck is up with that?
I would also like to go on about the moderators being a problem but I would probably just get banned for that (that's the problem hurp durp).
Really there are better places to have discussions and there are worse places. Most people come here for Yahtzee, MovieBob ect anyway.
