A characters first scene in a movie is very important, its the first chance to establish a character.
Below is megan fox's first scene in the second movie, and there's your acting talent phoenix XIII
And for those of you who have seen the latest movie, think back to the first scene with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (Spelling and/or hyphenation may be wrong) and view her "acting talent"
I fail to see how this represents any sort of acting ability. This seen sets her up for her main role within the film: The love interest eye-candy. We see her in the most shallowly attractive possible way, in hot clothing, with a lot of skin showing. This is essentially everything the director wants us to know about her, and gives no indication as to her acting talent, for better or worse. Like i said, it's just meant to show of her body (which i wont deny is a good body) and get a few whistles and woops from the men in the audience... or at least the teen boys, and has absolutely
NOTHING to do with the depth of her character.
And before you argue that this is the role she was aiming to play, just remember: this is what she is anyway. She was established in the first film to be nothing but something good to look at, and occasionally be rescued etc. This scene just confirms the facts.
Besides, it's not like her character and her are miles apart anyway. It would be like asking Dwane Johnson (spelling is optional on my planet) to play a wrestler called "the stone". He would probably get the part down to a tee, but not because of his talents as an actor, but because that's what comes naturally to him anyway.
OFFTOPIC: I still find it funny that they're trying to sell that automatic soap pump thing. The absolute needlesness of it is stagering: "never touch a germy pump again"... YOU'RE ABOUT TO WASH YOUR HANDS ANYWAY, WHAT THE HELL DOES IT MATTER IF IT'S GERMY!?
