I've come to the conclusion that Megan Fox actually is quite attractive, but she's great at hiding it because she's trying too damn hard to look sexy. Just look at her in Transformers, everything she does is meant to make her look even more attractive. Like when she's doing the paintjob on that bike, wouldn't it have been easier to sit on a chair next to the bike instead of lying on top of it? Of course it would, but it wouldn't look sexy.Jaqen Hghar said:The worst part is that I don't even find her to be good looking. At all. So she has nothing going for her. No acting ability, no good looks, nothing. It's kinda sad really. No, not really, since I also get the feeling she is a total *****.
You basically ended the thread right there.barash said:What acting ability? - sums it up for me.
Was that really necessary? The answer, in case you were wondering, is no.katsumoto03 said:Same as I feel about God: I don't believe it exists.
Apollo45 said:She was hot. That's what Bay looks for when he makes movies; hot chicks, big explosions, and awesome special effects. Anyone who thinks she ever had acting ability needs to get their heads checked. And, on the same note, anyone who thinks she isn't hot needs to do the same.
I remember the reason she said she quit Transformers is that she didn't want to only be seen as a sex symbol anymore. Most of the movies she's been in were either doomed to be shit, or didn't prsent the oppurtunity to excel to her. And besides, at least she isn't close to as bad as that guy from The Room.evilthecat said:Acting is about more than being stuck on a stage and asked to do something and getting it right first time. True, there are well trained actors of particular schools who are just great whatever you put them in, but those are the vast exception. Good acting requires good direction, good editing and a production which cares about the quality of acting.
I'm not convinced Megan Fox has ever been given a chance to shine. She's mostly been directed by douches who cast her because she's supposed to be hot. True, I'm very skeptical about her acting ability, but I don't really think it's ever been tested. She's been allowed to drift lazily along as a Holywood 'hot girl' in the same way Shia LeBeouf inexplicably gets paid to be an author insertion fantasy for dickheads.
But then, I'm of the opinion that anyone can act given the right motivation. There are people who are genuinely trained in it, and that's worth celebrating, but most professional actors are just attractive, lucky people who had good coaching and direction.
She is attractive, but she needs to throw out her portfolio, fire her stylist, fire her makeup artist, fire everyone ever involved in creating her public persona and get someone to do it properly, because as it stands she's not going to have a whole lot of longevity.
EDIT: And cover those tattoos with better ones.
Was it really problematic? Was it anything but a comment on a strictly personal relationship with religion, without any indication whatsoever - linguistic or contextual - on being an opinion on people who do have faith? The answer is also no.BanicRhys said:...
