I find it so-so.
That is what I thought about it when I rented it on PS3. I didn't buy it on the PC and was against it when they announced it would be $60 instead of $50. Glad I didn't buy it... Things that made me hate it: No leaning, how you get shot once and the whole screen is covered in blood and you can't see shit, some levels even looked cartoony to me, the first half of the campaign was way too jumpy and didn't really connect at all, I heard the PC online sucked and didn't try it on PS3 because somneone I know did around the time I rented it and it fried his PS3 laser reader...

My problem is there's no teamwork. That sounds insane but compare it to other games where you can have a medic, or you can give ammo, or you can sabotage a gun.

MW2 is you step out and die, or someone JUMPS around with dual shotguns.

Its nothing it advetizes itself as, it's not really a team shooter, it's not really a military shooter. The only tactics are noobtoob and morons jumping around or bunny hopping, whatever you want to call it.

I hate to compare but put it against Bad Company 2 where you can revive a teamate, give him ammo, callout where an enemy is, repair vehicles, etc what does MW2 hold out in terms of teamwork? Besides getting blown up as a team with a single noobtoob.

1) The story makes no sense
2) They tried to make it as mind-blowing as CoD4 and failed at it.
3) I never cared about Roach.

1) Marathon-Lightweight-Commando Effect (Unbalanced Perk Tiers)
2) Chopper-Gunner = Spawnkilltacular (Unbalanced Killstreaks)
3) Kids can exploit so many glitches (The Faux-Pro Syndrome)
4) Camping (more Faux-Pro Syndrome)

Over hyped, not good as its previous installments, fucked over PC gamers.

And where the fuck are the dedicated servers? Fun fact. Pirate the game, and you can crack in dedicated servers.

Seriously.
Sorry.

EDIT: You don't need dedicated servers to have fun.
For a lot you do. Less lag, control over your servers, you can deal with hackers, you can add mods to the server you can do a fuck ton more then you could without.

Go look at this.

That's a taste of the screw up for PC.
I would also like to add these videos to that list. They explain why dedicated servers are important in a much better manner than I ever could:

Overall, I am happy Treyarch decided to keep dedicated servers for Black Ops.

i hatet the game because its far to charitable to campers and if you actually run around the map people just camp and fuck with you.i also hate being teamed with people who complain about every gun that kills them"oh wtf kill me with a scar your cool kid"take the scar part and replace it with every gun and weapon and popsicle stick in the whole game and thats what you have to listen to thruogh the whole game.this gets about as annoying as the gibberish speaking voice actorsor the enemy team.i am so fucking done with that game at this point

I thought it was pretty good. A flawed game, surely, but no more flawed than any of the other games that have been met with the same success. Just to make things clear, most of the haters of MW2 do so first and foremost because it's the cool thing to hate popular stuff, then they come up with their justification afterwards.

The stress on the over inflated killsteak system almost demands a level of camping that is rarely seen nowadays in FPS'es (sure, you get one or two, but the average MW2 match has about 10 campers).

It's just a bad move for the game.

Other than that, I love it.

The story was disapointing, but I love the online. People who don't like the RPG elements of the online didn't like it I believe, I dunno, I liked it alot

It just boring, I liked CoD4 alright, but for the most part I don't like realistic shooters. I can't do very much in it without getting bored.

100% agreed. My thoughts exactly. And I feel a bigger sense of accomplishment in Bad Company 2 when you and a well-formed squad contribute to winning a match. I like teamwork, but MW2 is more of a "Lone Shark" kind of game.

-no matter what i do, i can't find a decent HTDM server. i always end up lagging or getting booted. this sucks particularly because HTDM is all i play, because my bullets actually kill people in this mode.

-getting wiped out upon spawning.

-goddamn sniper-crane/ladder system in highrise.

-getting killed by a teammate for a box that I called for.

-overly forgiving hitboxes. this applies to running around corners too. ever got killed by a bullet 4 feet away from you? i have. a lot.

-the fact that what i do isn't what the enemy player sees- i.e., i deliver a 3-burst headshot, but get killed, and on replay it shows me not even pointing at the enemy player.

-flashbangs that say 'hit' when on killcam, the person isn't even the least bit stunned.

-acog crosshairs that line up headshot, but result in no such thing.

-double-ought buckshot that stops being effective after 10ft, or just dissipates into bunny farts.

-firing a rocket as you get killed somehow causes the game to disregard the existence of the rocket, regardless of the fact that it already left the tube. *FWOOSH* *gets shot* *no boom, no rocket*

Actually this. Though, add to that a couple poorly balanced perks (commando-lightweight-marathon is designed to take advantage of lag, and it does) and the fact that the killstreaks themselves are just not fun (getting spawn killed by a harrier rarely is, as is suddenly getting blown up from a missile)

If not for those things I would love the game.

EDIT- oh! and jesus tap-dancing christ, this game has HORRIBLE hit boxes. Many times I watch myself, in the killcam, get shot and killed when someone isn't even shooting me. They hit the wall behind me, and I guess the game figured "close enough." THAT shit needs to be sorted out, and the fact that it hasn't been patched is just annoying.

I'll just go with "anyone who plays it online", "little to no changes", and "overhyped"

I hate it for the volume of threads about it.

You know when your okay with something like (for any English people) Jordan and Peter, at first it was kind of "oh, look at that. Will they get together or won't they" then as time went on and there still craving attention, you start to grow really bored and sick of hearing about it ... until you get to the stage were your punching walls upon hearing either peter or Jordan's name being mentioned just so you can concentrate on something other than there being.

It's about as balanced as an obese guy and an anorexic on a see saw, really arrogant "Rambo" style players play team games, stupid people play CTF and do nothing but look for kills etc etc.

As you see, my whole clan is focused around using tricks everybody hates... Except hacking, we TK hackers on sight.

You should see us with a full team on Skidrow, Afgan, Terminal or Wasteland!
We even have people who just about only use tubes, and if one of us know where an enemy is hiding, we start playing "Battleship" using them tubes and One Man Army.
Turns out that you dont really need Danger Close when having unlimited tubes :D

Instead of making a list longer than a dictionary, I'll make a few points.

1) M4A1 takes 3 direct shots to the skull to get a headshot without the magical perk called Stopping Power. What exactly is Stopping Power anyway?

2) Desert Eagle(and almost ever other gun) takes 2 shots to the head to get a headshot with Stopping Power.

3) The UMP45. Why is it stronger than every gun except the Barret? I shouldn't have to hit you 6 times in the chest with an MG4 to kill you, when you can hit me twice in the leg with a UMP45 and kill me.

4) Sprinting reduces registration. When someone is sprintingg in a straight line towards you, the first 5 bullets you fire into them don't register. This has been tested and proven. Even on split screen on consoles, so it isn't a lag problem.

5) EMP produces static on the screen. Are my eyes digital? Why would any part of my body that isn't prosthetic be affected by an EMP?

6) Silenced M9 Pistol(and at least 3 other guns that I know of) still shows on the radar when fired. Really?

7) The hit boxes for the riot shield are horrendous. You can easily be shot or stabbed through the middle of it. There is noticeable turn lag while using the shield, meaning when someone tries to quickly run around you and shoot you, if you turn quickly, they can kill you. If you watch the kill-cam, you won't even be facing them, when on your screen, you were looking directly at them. Activision has acknowledged the problem and has no plans to fix it.

8) Auto-aim that can't be turned off. "Why thank you auto aim, for making me aim at and follow the guy running across my screen that doesn't know I'm there, instead of letting me continue to aim at the stationary one shooting at me. Now neither of them are dead, and I am.". Ever try to shoot an enemy claymore to blow it up as the enemy runs up the stairs next to it? Won't happen. The game think that instead of blowing the person up with their own claymore, you'd be happier shooting at their toes.

I can list many more things wrong with the game that have nothing to do with the players. Let me know if you need more.
