Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei- a darker comedy. It is insane for most of the time.

Don't forget most creative character introduction.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya: Most Baffling. No, really. Endless Eight. Wtf.
Pani Poni Dash: Most Sugary.
Azumanga Daioh!: Most Squeaky.

The overall winner?
Great Teacher Onizuka: Best Story, Best Lead Voice Actor (Steven Jay Blum), Best Lead AND Supporting Voice Actress (Wendee Lee), Best Main Character, Best Comebacks ("Doraemon? No, I'm Kenshiro! I'm here to save Yuria from you villains!").

Just an update.

Re-watched all of School Rumble, don't think I saw season 2 back then so it was good to see a whole new season. Then I read up that they were making season 3 but instead just made the last 2 episodes, so I watched those. Bit of a strange ending really.

Then I decided to watch Great Teacher Onizuka, as mentioned on this topic. Yeah it was pretty good!

Now, what else to watch?

You're kidding right? Cheating on his first girlfriend is bad. Cheating on the secret girlfriend with her best friend, a not best friend, and a 4 girl posse? That's a dick move of the highest calibre. Going back to his first girlfriend after becoming the only person said secret girl had left because every other girl decided the sex wasn't worth it? What the fuck was he thinking??

Really, the only decent version of him is in the Manga, where he's actually a decent guy who atleast tries to own up to hurting the first girl instead of only going back for sex.

I really actually enjoyed what happened to him in the end of the Anime(Granted i havent seen all the Episodes).
Haven't read the Manga nor the VN.
Don't think i will.

I'll admit I haven't seen a lot of anime that were mostly about school life, but of the ones I did see Azumanga Daioh was the only one I enjoyed. The Haruhi one was fun as well but not as consistently good.

Azumanga is like the Seinfeld of school anime. It doesn't have any kind of story and explaining why it's so great is pretty much impossible, but it never stops being entertaining because OH KRAMER OSAKA YOU SO CRAZY <3

Also, Yomi is superior.

Not too versed in this genre, but...

Shuffle! - Worst Use of a Great Idea, Best One-Liner ("You're in highschool?"), Most Interesting Secondary Characters. Seriously, the God/Demon dynamic was cool, but it just wasn't used in a way that brought out its potential.

Hahuri Suzuyima - Best Cast, Best Story, Biggest Cop-out To Extend Series Length. I watched every last one of those repeat episodes, hoping that something different would finall happen. Goddamn it...

School Days - Biggest Dickhead of a Protagonist (that's a given), Most Boneheaded Female Leads. Makoto was a massive asshole, but it's not like Sekai or Katsuro (or most of those other girls whose names I forget) are completely innocent.
