I've said a thousand times here and I don't mind saying it again. SSB Brawl is just shocking. The game play is just awful. To make a fighting feel like a slap fight where you feel like you're taking turns is sad. Not to mention everyone feels nerfed, sluggish, clumsy and just really unbalanced, especially with the specials.
I waited for it for 3 years, and I was drooling, because I had 8 awesome years with Melee so I couldn't prevent the hype that built up for Brawl, but unfortunately it wasn't meant to be. *sigh* Nintendo. I can't defend you anymore.
It wasn't even the enemies I thought about, it was more that it made itself feel more like a sequel by making all these callbacks, and it just didn't have anywhere near the impact that the 1st had. Though, I still love HL2 for other things.
Same with the big blue beasts. They were a lot more heavy and intimidating as they move really quick for you instead of flying/walking around like the gunships/striders, and you would find you could defeat them in different ways like electrocution, instead of the usually magical box of endless rockets.
And I was actually disappointed with the end of HL2 when I found no actual boss. I mean, the core and gunships make a boss, but I would of liked to see a different threat you know. That's what Half Life built up to, and Nihilinth is pretty interesting and scary final boss. So basically I'm saying that it was underwhelming compared to the 1st.

I can't remember if it was you I told, but I played Half Life 2 before the original really late, and was amazed by it, only to be amazed again by the original and disappointed in the sequel.Starbird said:- Half-Life 2. *Gasp!*. Okay, okay, I've definitely gone back on this a bit over the years. HL2 is an amazing game. However so many things I loved from the original were removed. Boss fights? Gone. Varied and creative enemies? Gone. Awesome, insane weapons that could carry more than a few shots? Gone. HL2 was great, but it wasn't HL1.

You're right, but I understand Starbird. The helicopter, the gunships, the striders, the ant queens, and the final section are all sections that stand out like big battles, but they don't do it like the original where you come in contact with different intimidating unknown species with different weaknesses. Such as if you compare all the bosses from HL2 to the green squid thing in the tube in Half Life, they are nowhere near as menacing as all of them have the same standard weakness (very straight forward and easy), while the alien squid you need to follow a full procedure while keeping your skin and reserving your ammo.seris said:Also about half life 2, why do you think there are no boss battles in it? theres several sections where you fight boss-like enemies, the first i can think of being the hunter chopper when you have the airboat. After that you shoot down a gunship (followed by more later in the game) and i also consider the final portion in the citadel as a boss fight.

Finally someone other me see's it like this. I mean, I wouldn't put it on this list anywhere near my biggest, but I compared to the other legendary Zelda's before it, I found it difficult to finish for the same reasons you said. And I also didn't like the style change either, because it made it feel too cartooney to take the world seriously.hybridial said:I'd have to go with The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.
I loved Link to the Past.
I loved Ocarina of Time.
I loved Majora's Mask
I couldn't even being myself to like Wind Waker. Sailing was horrendous, combat felt poor, half the game was filler, 90% of the map was filler, there were no good dungeons and I didn't care for the story as a whole.
I know it wasn't a bad game as such, but in no way did it even close live up to my expectations, and that's what disappointment is about.
