I like the Xbox 360, because I already own it and I can't afford a PS3 or a good gaming PC, pkus Mass Effect and Splinter Cell are Xbox friendly.

I prefer the 360, simply because I've grown accustomed to the controls. The PS3 controller seems alien to me now, even after the 3+ years I was playing the PS2 for. I have all 3 major consoles as well as a DS, and I have definitely spent the most time on the Xbox. Also, I think Xbox does online gaming better than all the other consoles.
Wanna know why the PS3 controller feels so odd? IT IS SO DAMN LIGHT. The 360 controller has weight to it like the PS2 controller does. Thats why I prefer the Xbox controller to the PS3.

Commodore Amiga. It's as elegant under the hood as you could possibly want and it has a fair slew of kickass classic titles.

I love my PC. It's modular enough to take any controller I want to use with it (and has more hard drive space than I can fill up... for now), has faster hardware than any mass-market gaming platform, and I can do whatever I want with the software on it, no legal issues... because it's mostly open source.

Let's go back to the beginning.

1. Colecovision. Because it was much, much cheaper than the Atari and other alternatives...and I was not from a rich family.
2. Next, I got the Xbox. I got it mainly for the Deus Ex: Invisible War exclusive, but also because I really didn't like the PS2 controller. The shoulder buttons and the way you triggered them didn't work for me. Over the time of my owning the Xbox, I enjoyed lots a really excellent exclusives that were right up my alley--very specifically a bunch of Western RPGs (Morrowind, KotOR, Fable) and Adventure games (Dreamfall: The Longest Journey, Still Life)
3. Then I got the Xbox360. I got it because I really liked the Xbox, the PS3 wasn't out, and I wanted to continue on playing the games that I loved--so I got Mass Effect and so on. Then the PS3 came out...and it was really, really overpriced. And Sony didn't seem to care. Yeah, it had a BlueRay, but I preferred HD-DVD in concept...though I didn't really need either in practice (actually the idea of obsoleting my current massive DVD collection was not all that exciting to me either). As time has gone on, there has only been one PS3 exclusive that I really, really want to play: Heavy Rain. But I'm not going to buy a PS3 just for that one game. So I continue on with my Xbox360, happy as can be.

As a side note: I haven't yet played Halo, and I'm not the biggest FPSer. I don't play online, either. But I still love my Xbox360 and the sorts of games that I get to play on it. I don't think there is anything wrong with PS3s or people who like them.

As another side note: I also own a Mac, but I don't game too often on it anymore (though I used to do lots of WoW)--mainly because I like to watch my games on my big HDTV, and I also because I like to separate my work (computer) and my pleasure (Xbox).

I own both a PS3 and an Xbox 360, and between those I definetly prefer my PS3.

The exclusives are way more appealing, I prefer the interface and the trophy system and the machine doesn't sound like an airplane. The 360 is superior with the controller on the other hand. The L2/R2 buttons on the PS3 controller are awful...

Edit: I also love all these HD re-releases they're making. Sure, they're just milking the games for money, but I've gotten a chance to play a lot of games that I didn't get during my PS2-days.
God of War, Prince of Persia, Sly Raccoon... and the upcoming Ico/SotC and Splinter Cell Triology!

I like my PC since it has better graphic and generally do everything better (imo). I also got a Xbox 360 which I regret buying since it has lower graphic and I cant stand the controllers.

My console of choise is definitely the PS3. I like it because it easy to use, has a ton of awesome game that appeal to me more and has Bluray and free online.

Of course, I'm a pc game first. but my favorite console, out of the next gen ones I have, would have to be the ps3. I am a Sony fanboy, of sorts. I do love Microsoft and nintendo... but the 360 is only ok... and the Wii? forget about it. The ps3 is the console that caters to Its fans greater than the other 2. if you subscribe, they give some really cool stuff for free, or discounted. I like that. a lot. The games for the ps3, I say, are greater than that of the other 2. All this, and it has blue ray capabilities.

The Wii!
just kidding until skyword sword comes out it will basically be collecting dust. but i can't afford a PS3, Xbox, or a new up to date computer, or a hd tv assuming you need one for the Xbox or PS3. the the only reason i even got the wii is because it was a Christmas present.
if it means anything i would want to own all consoles

ee...

Wireless controllers?
I also play games in bed, and i don't have a burning laptop frying my balls
Well I'm a student and therefore can't afford a TV for just my bedroom. Plus I'd have to move the Xbox which is a pain.

Also I rest my laptop more on my stomach because I'm actually, you know, lying down.

I'm pretty neutral towards the console crowd, even if I slightly dislike the 360 and I slightly like the PS3, even if I don't own it (yet).

My primary system of choice would be the PC, why?, because I don't have the money to buy a console. I'm trying to not write something biased and please don't consider it as some sort of flaming.

I'm not going to say that I like the PC just because it has better graphics [sub](hint: it does)[/sub], I like the PC, because, while it's easier to get pirated, ironically, it's way cheaper to get quality games for it. I know that many fellow escapists are against Steam and I'm not trying to convince them to use it, to each their own, but not only Steam, other digital distributors are selling an amazing quantity of games with lower and lower prices.

Take GOG for instance, I got Neverwinter Nights: Diamond Edition [http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/neverwinter_nights_diamond_edition], a game that, even if it's a bit old by now, everywhere else would normally cost more than $20 [http://www.amazon.com/Neverwinter-Nights-Diamond-Pc/dp/B000B8K7RC], but I bought the game at a sale and I got it for $6, DRM free and now it's completely mine, I burned it into a DVD and it feels like the disc itself came from a limited edition package, with lots of extra stuff, worthy of a limited or special edition. Even if the disc is printed with my crude handwriting and not a proper fancy artwork, or even if the disc doesn't have a proper box at all, it's one of those moments when I simply love PC gaming in general.

I don't have to say that the game looks (kinda) gorgeous in HD with all of your fancy filters and antialiases turned on.

I know that sometimes it's a lot of a hassle to get something to work, be it if it's too old for newer systems (System Shock 2), it's badly coded (New Vegas) or it would melt your PC (Crysis). For me, at the end of the day, making that game to work is part of the fun, yes, sometimes it can drive you to punch a baby seal [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/issues/issue_265/7935-Punching-the-Baby-Seal-of-PC-Gaming], but at the end of the day, making it to finally work, makes you feel like you really achieved something.

In fact, it would be awesome to have an achievement system dedicated to make an older game (System Shock 2 and Thief 1/2) to work propperly, even more if you want to run it in widescreen resolutions.

Oh and I forgot one of the main reasons I got into PC gaming in the first place. Mods. That's all.

My PC. So far it can play anything at max settings, though I keep some of the eye candy down out of fear of overheating and destroying something. It is currently causing my interest in my Xbox 360 to wane, as I have only touched 1 or 2 games since I built my computer. I prefer my PC because, since I suck at talking to people IRL, and buying/downloading games increases the convenience of staying home tenfold., though some games (especially titles loaded with DLC) take a hell of a long time to download, which can get frustrating.
