Disappointing, for all the hollering about exclusives 'each side' of the 'console race' there's not many to be had (except the WiiU maybe). Other than this, most of the 'must have games' seem to be PC ports er, I'm sorry- "remastering/definitive editions" with a hefty price tag back on them. Yes, I'm aware work goes into them but when (at the time) Tomb Raider was $7.50 on PC and $60 on PS4 and it's superior on PC it's a BIT hard to swallow.
Seriously, I love my old consoles, I really do I recall games that made me want them big time and I wasn't disappointed. FFVII for PS, GTA3 on PS2, Metroid Prime on GC, Gears of War/Dead Rising on 360, Uncharted on PS3... I look at the games on offer now on shelves and it feels like they've just launched yet they've been out for ages. Nothing is interesting, I've found far more on offer on handheld interesting.
The last gen even handled the remasters better, God of War Collection nets you EVERY God of War game on PS2,PSP,PS3 and it was 40 bucks, the PSP games even had their controls re-sorted for the extra buttons on PS3. Now they're putting God of War 3 on PS4 and I'm sure the price is going to be a joke.
No backward compatibility, that completely blew my mind, it's still mind boggling how stupid this is, yes, I've heard the excuses and frankly considering all the past devices that sported them and still do, I don't frankly care. Consoles are supposed to be upgrades, not side-grades where you need your old and new system to enjoy what's what. Whatever, see Yahtzee's rantings on this for more detail. Frankly I'm sure someone is thinking about quoting me to tell me how it was removed to save the consumer money- when now you can't sell your PS3 to get a PS4 to save money on the upgrade and just play on that device.
Now you gotta just drop 400 bucks and that's that, unless you're just done with past gen, which I hear this often then years later "I miss that game on that system a lot...wish I could play it again but ..."
Look, I'm sure someone's reading this and thinking how much they've gotten out of their console and that's great for you but I'm talking about what I see.
