Numero 5 is Shadow over Mystara, back in the day when Capcom was the King of beat 'em ups came this jewel for the Sega Saturn... I considered Guardian Heroes but Shadow was just a compilation of the best things I loved about these games in general. Lots of Unique Characters, a story that doesn't get on the way (evil lass over there, kill her ass), dashes uppercuts, Items, lots of monsters, a branching path, awesome bosses, 4 player (or 6 on some machines) co-op, Incredible music. The best game fast paced game out there with the name Dungeons and Dragons out there... Now if I could only get this (and Tower of Doom) for the PSN/XBLA with online co-op...
Number 4!!! Would be a tie Between Megaman 2 and Megaman 3, back on the original NES... I had one of those fathers who believed that Nintendo was Satan spelled backwards (or whatever) and that pluggin it to the TV would make the whole house caught up in flames... So I had to play games the best I could when I was growing up and they had to be a fast to set up, get going and play as much as possible before they (my parents) came back from their date night. So hence came games like Megaman... Aside of that little reason these 2 games have some of the best chip-tunes fom the 8-bit era. The rules were easy to grasp and the simple notion of being able to get to Dr.Willy in the time of no save slots or memory cards (just passwords) and beat his evil ass (for the last time... again) is just awesome... And if I had to unplug the game ina hurry I wouldn't be as sorry as having to cut it short on Final Fantasy before being able to Save.
Number 3 Would have to be... Castlevania Lords of Shadow. The thing about this game, same as many other games is that is a love it or leave it game.
I was expecting this game since I happen to come across the GT Countdown of the most anticipated games of 2010, since then I was hooked, trying to find more and more about the game with Patrick Stewards voice in it. Once I got my hands on it I had heard all the bad rep people gave the game and I was slightly crestfallen. Oh boy was I wrong to doubt. Maybe its just me, but this game clicked it. I have heard many arguments like "Only a third takes place in a Castle" or "You don't fight that many Vampires" or "sometimes you are outside during daylight!" or "The way they bring Dracula in is a joke" But I don't think that's really the case. They fact that some levels take place during the night or day actually give the game a needed contrast.
The atmopshere in each setting is haunting and perfectly nailed. The combat is good, not a smooth in the sense that is a no so easy to learn & difficult to master and I would have preferred a whole more of finishers, but the whip attacks and the QTEs are functional. The music is good but not memorable although I now know the reason... Thanks Extra Credits and the game is soooo Colorfull and the vistas amazing!!!! OMG.
Also it's a throwback to SuperCastlevania IV, where skill, not RPG elements like stats and equipment meant all the difference in the world. (It also reminds me to Bramstoker Dracula's... Evolution of Gabriel into... you know... anyone? Like the origins of You know...)

Lastly the game is full of references (beyond the cake is a lie) like Star Trek or even other cult status games like (Gabriel Belmont is a knight... So Gabriel Knight? Like... Oh I get it, but no way... It's not like there's werewolves in this game)
Number 2 Batman Arkham Asylum.
Although I could just say 'nuff said and leave it at that, the game deserves much more. Visually is not as engaging as many other AAA games BUT is more than fuctional. The combat is Kick-ass, there are so many ways to go into the game and come out satisfied wether you try your deduction abilities (I didn't use Gamefaqs or anything and got all the clues on the first go! Same for C:LoS) and you just have a blast beating the living stuffing our of bad guys. And besides that you are the God Dammed Batman! It could only be more awesome if it had tits and was on fire!!! ... Wait... no... no forget that last bit.
And number 1 would have to be... Red Dead Redemption. Maybe it's not the best game of the world or the best one made to date. But for me it came down to the simplicity of immersion. True that other games like Neverwinters Nights could actually draw me in better than others. But stepping into the boots of John Marston and having long rides on horses through the Wild West (I only skipped the travel once and that was because I had to go to sleep and just wanted to save ASAP) But waiting to do certain missions while raining or at night or at the break of dawn or simply any of the random events taking place in the world. Also a good story and interesting characters don't hurt. Oh and the music is awesome I never liked Polka as much!
