Most of these guys are really obscure but well worth going too if they play in your area.

Falcon Ridge folk Festival multiple times including the one with the sudden hail storm.

One of concerts from Eddie From Ohio's most recent live CD.

Dave Carter before he died (obviously).

Vance Gilbert and at Club Passim. I think I might have seen a few more bands there too.

Da Vinci's Notebook and Gandalf Murphy at some obscure really good theater that I can't remember the name of right now.

Chris chandler at a local coffee house.

Kennedeys at a house concert.

Rani Arbo at my local Library of all places.

Most recently the Waybacks at a local theater.

I've only been to one concert:

Roger Water's Dark Side of the Moon tour 2008

The music was awesome, there was a giant inflatable pig hovering over the audience and for some unknown reason there was this big cloud of smoke over the audience . . . You could swat at it but it would only swirl about, it wouldn't dissipate.

I saw kamelot and epica now that was an epic show
saw Iron maiden with rob zombie
Rob zombie with lacuna coil
saw metallica during their death magnetic tour
lacuna coil within temptation and stolen babies
stolen babies and combichrist
Demon hunter
reel big fish
and Five iron frenzys second to last show
Kamelot and Epica sounds nuts. I've heard some Epica live recordings and they sound tight. It was obviously dubbed over with studio touch ups, but whatayagonnado.

I think a top 3 could be...

Coheed & Cambria / The Ocean (2008)
What made this concert so great was the obvios joy with which the band played, the incredible skill they have as musicians, and the fact that ehy played in a rather intimate venue. I have never been so moved at a concert as I was at this. The support was great too.

Iron Maiden /Avenged Sevenfold / Lauren Harris(2008)
Second time I saw them, and far better than the first, on their "A Matter of Life and Death Tour". "Somewhere in Time" had all the great tracks, had amazing sceneshow, and it was outdoors on a nice summerday. Avenged Sevenfold kicked ass, even though they only played 6 or so songs. Lauren Harris was as meh as they come... But that meant we had some proper time to drink beer, leaving our mouths free to sing along to the other two acts :)
I've seen Coheed 3 times, the first time with Thrice and Thursday (meh) then about a year and a half ago with Clutch and Fall of Troy. FOT sucked ass, but Clutch and Coheed were AMAZING. I should have included that in my list to begin with.

Iron Maiden and A7x huh? I've always wanted to see Maiden live, but being that I live in the USA, I'm pretty much fucked. Oh, and FUCK Avenged Sevenfold. They played a neighboring town last year, and were complete assholes. My buddy worked for a radio station and essentially made the show happen, and they treated him like shit. Fuck them. I met their singer in 2003 and he was awesome. We chatted for a long time and he was so nice. Now, apparently he's a giant douche.
Never met the dudes from A7x, so can't common there... But they really rocked that night.
I'll just say that if he was nice once, then chances are he still is. While A7x hadn't peaked in their career back then, I'd just say he'd had a really bad day that day... Shit, I've seen some musicians being complete assholes one night, and a few months after, they're happy to grab a beer in the bar with you.

Michael Jackson (say what you want about him. He's still the king of pop, and his stage show was incredible)

Henry Rollins spoken word shows, every one of them has rocked my jocks.

Iggy Pop, the true god of rock and roll.

Les Miserables, a truly amazing show that everyone should see at least once before they die.

I guess my best would have to be Muse 2007 at Wembley Stadium. It's cool when a gig you go to ends up as their live album (H.A.A.R.P tour)

I can never get out to see shows, its way to hard for me. The last show I went to see was at Warped Tour where I saw As I Lay Dying, Norma Jean (meh), and Maylene and the Sons of Disaster.

Muse at Wembley was my favourite by a long ol' way.
I think the Foos come a close second, Hyde Park was a great day in general but they had a much better set at Wembley.

I guess my favourite gig as a whole would have to be the 2007 Nimes Festival. Friday night - Muse. Sunday night - Arcade Fire, supported by Arctic Monkeys, which I really wasn't expecting. Awesome.

That said, if I had to go pick a favourite moment from music history, I'd pick Glasto '97, with truckloads of people belting out Karma Police's final refrain even though OK Computer hadn't even been released yet. Same thing happened at the gig in Victoria Park, but, you know, not quite the same.

Down - 2008, The Ambassador, Dublin

Amazing concert. They played by themselves, which is awesome cause they get longer on stage, but they play this video before they come on and its just them pissing about backstage before gigs and shit. It was pretty good but then they came on they were fucking brilliant. It was good to see Phil not off his face on something.

Opeth - 2008, Vicker St., Dublin

The supporting acts (no idea who they were, never even heard of them before the gig) were only ok but then Opeth came on and blew everyone away. Plus the lead singer was funy as hell. The worst part of the whole day was when we walked past Opeth on the street but didnt realise it was them until they gone. It wouldvr of been awesome to talk to them.

EDIT:
Slayer - 2006/7 Dublin/Cork ( 2 gigs, cant remember the venues)

One was the unholy Alliance with Thine Eyes Bleed, Lamb of God and In Flames, the other was just a normal tour but cant remember the supporting acts.
Anyway, the atmosphere at Slayer gigs is reason enough to go. Everyone just standing around on the street, drinking and smoking. You go for a walk and start talking to people youve never met before, get offered a joint and a few drinks. People jump out in front of traffic and just shout "FUCKING SLAYER!!!" at the people and run off into the crowd again. Fucking great time. The cops actually walked past us at the one in Cork and nothing happened. We didnt even hear people shouting at them or anything. man, I fucking love Slayer.

The Subways (Billy Lunn is such an awesome performer)
Foals (in their final 2 homecoming shows in Oxford in final tour of Antidotes)
Late of the Pier (insane)
Florence & the Machine/White Lies/Friendly Fires/Glasvegas (last night...AWESOME!!!)

AAAAAAAHHHHH! My brain begins to melt at the mention.

On topic: personally none I never quite get what's so amazing about a concert though my sister says it's the atmosphere, which by some of her stories sounds like it's just a bunch of sweaty people rubbing up against you while jumping.
Sounds like my idea of fun :p but nah, its basically a lot easier to get caught up in the emotion of the show, and its a massive shared experience with everyone else there, but some of the best nights ive had were at gigs.

Apart from that I've been to a fair few gigs, the best was probably Dirty Pretty Things, who rocked up on stage about 2 hours late, dodging beer glasses and other objects, and proceeded to move the whole crowd to insanity with everyone charging forwards, sideways, and bascially having a ball, the first and best gig ive been to.

Other than that I've been to see Razorlight who were amazing, as always, supported by The Editors, who wera alright, Maximo Park who also rocked the place out, The Enemy who were a bit flat, Kate Nash because my sister knows her, and they were supported by a band i really like. Ummm, oh, and Scouting for Girls - don't judge me!

I saw Green Day right after they released Warning with the Living End. The Living End was fucking amazing live, and Green Day was also amazing (before they released American Idiot).

Also, any Flogging Molly concert (I've been to four now).

And finally, Coheed and Cambria, especially the Neverender show. Just epic. No other words to describe it.

EDIT: Totally forgot about Unwritten Law. Their concerts are also a lot of fun to go to.
