Like any of you could actually tell one end of those weapons from the other, let alone fight zombies with them.

But, gun to my head, I'd say some sort of reliable rifle (I don't know anything about guns), a machete and a stock of smoke grenades.

M4 Carbine with a silencer, it might not make it shut up completely but every zombie within a 100 metre radius is better then every in 1000 metre radius.

Colt 1911, since a handgun thats been used for a hundred years is the only one I'd have faith in in these situations.

Ballistic fists, since you never said they had to be real. And the idea of punching a zombie with shotgun bullets is awesome. And how they get their ammo is unknown so infinite ammunition!

Primary: Telepathic laser grid (a mind-based weapon that fires lasers in the direction one thinks, must be careful not to get REALLY mad at your allies though)

Secondary: Throwing stars attached to razor thin titanium wires so they can be manipulated mid-flight and used as whips.

Entrenchment: Twin Claymores (If I do not get the first two, then to HELL WITH YOU!)

Well, my three weapons of choice should be quite obvious. A shaolin spade for open areas, a machete for closed areas, and a one-handed repeater crossbow for my sidearm.

Firearms have the limits of ammunition, a melee weapon only has the limit of breaking down with use, which is much easier to repair and doesn't require constant maitenance upon it to prevent it from getting jammed and such.

EDIT: ohh btw, this is what a shaolin spade is. Effectively can be used to break open objects, dig holes/trenches, and decapitate a zombie with ease

A semi automatic rifle with a high durability, set it for single for the zombies and burst for marauding survivors who attack me...I doubt I'd need anything else but just encase give me a magnum (powerful and can blow a zombie's head off but also act a loud deterrence for survivors who'd attack me and a beacon of hope for those who want to join me)and a hand axe for close encounters.

Always go with something relatively light and with easy to acquire amunition, is my school of thought.
