I didn't really think spore was that bad... didn't expect anything though. The worst games of the decade are (in my opinion, don't hate): Dead rising (Played it for 5 hours and the save system fucked up and I couldn't complete a mission in time), Gears of war (Really boring and stupid combat, they try to make it interesting by adding gore. A game based on gore is just stupid.), Just Cause (this is gamestops fault, they sold me a foreign version...!!!), Oblivion (I don't know why but it seems way too deep, but I enjoyed Fallout 3), An arcade game, I think it's called psychokinetic wars (No one plays it and the graphics fail) and the new Alien shooter from Team 17.

mirror's edge.

i love the idea of free-running for a game, but oh god... mirror's edge just turned that bright idea to shit!

I thought it was decent, but I think the first person view is just a stupid idea for a free running game.

That I actually played, Hmmmm. Lets see. Oh! Of course! Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad.

EDIT: And if that's too "recent." Then Perfect Dark: Zero. (I wanted the N64 awesomeness of Perfect Dark, but I got slapped in the face instead.)

There was also the GBA bombshell: Sword of Mana. I pure abortion waiting to happen in the Mana titles. Just plain hideous leveling, the bosses were easy, just time consuming, and the pace of the game just wasn't worth the effort. Then came Children of Mana on the DS. I thought the previous one was bad. "Let's take the Mana franchise, and make the player slog through one repetitious tower/dungeon repeatedly! Great idea!" So far Secret / Legend of Mana are the only two to stand the test of time.
Another slightly older than a decade game would be Irritating Stick. Those who don't know of it, yes, that's the name of the game. And it fits well. A friend brought it over. All you do is guide your stick through an irritating path of two bars and assorted things like slot machines. It had to be the most pointless game i've played to date.

If anyone says Halo they can fuck off and die
Considering the fact that Halo 1 is the ONLY game I've ever stopped in the middle of, said "this is stupid", and never played again, I have to say that. After going through the same hallways killing the same enemies for a long ass time, I quit. Hell, I've even sat there in Final Fantasy VII and just killed enemies in the same room for hours and at least I got somewhere. Halo 2 I actually made it through, despite it having a horrible ending and no replay value at all. I even tried to sell it to Gamestop and they wouldn't buy it. So, if you want to go fanboy rant on me, go for it, but I'm saying Halo because of the previously started reaction to the campaign.
You know superman 64 and Big Rigs Racing came out in the last decade? I can understand disappointing because of all the hype and I know the style of Halo isn't for every one but do you honestly think the single worst?
Yes, I do because it was the worst I played. I can't say a game is crap if I've never played it. Like LittleBigPlanet, when it first came out I thought it looked stupid and boring, then I tried the demo on PSP and couldn't put the thing down. Then there are other games that people say are horrible that I enjoyed (BlackSite Area 51, Jericho, FEAR/Painkiller expansion packs, Tony Hawk games, Mirror's Edge, etc).

Oh, wait... I lied... there was another game that I quit in the middle of because it was stupid, that I forgot about. Brawl. Man I'm glad I rented that instead of buying it. Get 60% of the way though adventure mode, or whatever they called it, then have to play through it all again, but a shorter version of it. So, those were probably the two worst games I played during the decade.

YOU'RE WINNER

That game is so bad that it might be good. However, it's still the worst.

Turning Point: Fall of Liberty was terrible.

Also
Conflict: Denied Ops and Army of Two.

I can't remember any other really bad games at the moment.

Far Cry 2.

It was like Hell.

No way of dying. No way of escaping. Nothing but the same repetitive tasks. No single human character capable of conversation.

It truly is a form of hell.
I quite liked Farcry 2 :/ does that make me a bad person?
Worst game? Probably Shrek swamp racing on the gba it was just a really crappy Mario cart

"Worst game" is a relative term.

Some people like what others will not.

I don't think there can be an overall "Worst" game.

But from my personal experience, the worst game I have played would have to be Wanted: Weapons of Fate.
Interesting soliloquy on the relative context but as much as I hate being a pedant, it was very clearly stated as YOUR personal worst.

Love you really.

My personal bile award goes to none other than Turok, proving that hideous terrible design and abominably bad narrative structure can still sell.

My personal runner-up would have to be the excruciatingly boring romp: "Leisure Suit Larry Box Office Bust".

Well, since I am usually up on the reviews I usually don't buy "bad" games. There are obviously genres I enjoy that others do not. (I liked the C&C games on xbox for example) So I am not going to comment on a game that I haven't played but KNOW is shit (Spore for example).

So out of the current gen games I have bought this year, I would have to say the biggest letdown was Fable 2. It is not often that a sequel actually takes a huge step back, but Fable 2 was a huge upset. The graphics were sub-par, the dog was stupid, the combat was nerfed, and it had more bugs than Cortney Love. Seriously, I have never seen a console game with this many bugs, it was enough to deter from the games enjoyment. I am actually sad that I spent the time to finish the game and do side quests, I think I felt I had to get my money's worth out of it, because it sucked.

Also, I am very disapointed in Left 4 Dead 2. I traded in my copy of L4D one, because they are the exact same game, only the level design on 2 is worse. The only redeming virture of the sequel over the original is verses mode with more special infected. Other than that, the game feels like a $60 expansion pack. I do play it every now and again, but value for money just isn't there.

Yes it is relative, this makes for discussion. If it wasn't relative there would be no discussion. If there was no discussion there would be no forum.

OT: Probably Mirror's Edge? I hated that game for 3 reasons.

1: It was intuitive and bad - I wouldn't have disliked it so much had it been a different 'unoriginal' genre, rather than trying to create it's own.

2: It's system specs - I can run Half Life 2, Empire and Medieval Total War, Oblivion and Fallout 3 just fine. Why the hell does Mirror's Edge have such huge specs?

3: It's clunky - The console demo which I had (and no longer had) was clunky, this annoyed me to some extent as collision detection was off and half of the time I had no idea where I was going.

So there you go mirror's edge fans. Permission to destroy me is granted.

surely the worst game ever is one that had no real impact on gaming bad games have their place as do good games but truely the worst game is somthing that has done nothing for gaming im putting forward games like the sabateur or dead space games that i think didnt really add anything
Don't forget your punctuation. That's rather hard to read. :p

On Topic: I'm going to have to go with Spore, it just didn't live up to the hype. (Although i wasn't expecting it to, it is EA after all.) And i just found it boring in general.

Halo's pros:

-Decent graphics
-Creative aliens
-Properly made difficulty settings
-Custom gamemodes.

Halo's cons:

-Gun takes up about half the screen, WHEAR DID GAEM GO? Oh barely, takes up no more room the COD
-Incredibly repetitive Pffh hardly, the online defiantly isn't
-Failure controls, especially in vehicles The vehcile controls are better then Half life's vehicle controls yet people don't shut up about that
-Annoying dialogue okay I will give you that
-Horrible level design Level design is good in some cases, horrible in others
-The ultimate in linearity (and that's the BAD linearity, not Half-life style) I've never found any of them linear, maybe that's just Halo hate spewing from your finger tips?
-No puzzles, just point at the enemies and shoot bullets Bioshock had very little puzzles, COD had none and they are praised for being amazing
-Unoriginal Compared to what?
-Pathetic gravity settings Okay sometimes the gravity can be stupid
-That annoying kind of recoil that forces you to fire short bursts of bullets Oh hardly, it's no worse then COD guns
-The Flood are the most annoying bastards ever Okay again I will give you that
-No tactics involved No tactics involved in most fps's, just aim for the head
-Terrible A.I. Half lifes AI, it's shit in my opinion
-Slow-paced I agree the lack of a run function is annoying
-Community stuffed with pricks So is every online community
-Few multiplayer levels There are over 20 maps, that's more then MW2's
-Confusing H.U.D Oh hardly, bar the equipment everything is clear
-Regenerating shields, which absorb billions of bullets until they run out, at which point you're killed by a Grunt farting meh I find the shields to be fine, gives me enough time to spot enemies and not get killed
-Started the ultimate campaign to take over the world with shitty FPSes (see ZP's review on Turok) It's got no QTE's, that's all I can remember
Now admit that it sucks.

Do it.
There you go, my opinion. You can called it biased or whatever shit I don't care but seriously, do you honestly believe it's the worst game this decade?

Apologies if no-one else posted after my previous one.
OK I respect your opinion I just don't like it when people hate it just for the hell of it.

Jesus, what the fuck is wrong with people these days? I mean, I'll have sympathy if English isn't your first language, but other than that, the OP CLEARLY states that this thread is for your opinion. Your. Fucking. OPINION.

Not facts. Not reasons. Not documentation to back up every fucking sentence (Citation needed).

I don't have to explain shit. My opinion: Halo sucks, Marathon was better. Simple as that. And being the predictable fanboys that you all obviously are, you start jumping on me with "WHY DOES IT SUCK GIVE ME A REASON! NOW!" Shut the fuck up and stick to the topic. If you really WANT me to explain why I feel Halo is complete garbage, then either do it on a related topic, or if I get enough requests, I could put it all together in a video because it would take SEVERAL ten minute videos to explain the massive amounts of fail that is the Halo franchise.

Some of you fuckers even replied to me with shit that had nothing to do with my post. I even have one guy call me a "console-hating fantard" or something to that effect. I mean really? It was deduced that because I prefer Bungie's Marathon over Halo that I'm suddenly anti-console? That's some Sherlock Holmes deduction skills right there! Did you also deduce that I rape children in the ass and secretly want to fuck the shit out of my own mother because my favorite color is blue?

Stick to the topic people, and start uneccissary flame wars somewhere else, like Gaiaonline or /b/ or Facebook or some shit. Keep this shit out of The Escapist.

You said Halo sucks, I said, please explain, you said read my original post, I said could you be a bit more specific; how exactly does that constitute such a response? I understand that this is based off of opinions, and that opinions are very different from facts, but that doesn't mean that it is exempt from clarification, justification, or rebuttal. Now I'm not trying start any sort of a flame war, hell I'm not even really interested Halo that much, but what I am interested in is how you came to the conclusion that Halo is the worst game/series of the decade, especially when such abominations as Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust have the audacity to exist (and to ward off the obvious hypocricy of my last statement, I shall offer reasons why it was bad, A: There is no part of this game that can be called comedic B: It is supposed to be a comedic game C: Literally every aspect of it has been blatantly ripped from something else D: None of these aspects work well in the slightest, and if you want me to elaborate further then I shall later but back to the topic). Lastly the reason I ask for an opinion is because when you don't give me one you sound like this jackass: Not necessarily in regards to his compitence at the game, but rather his inability to express himself.

A Tony Hawk game for gameboy advance
The graphics were suck, and it never really specified much what you had to do
