Why not? You're a catch! Now you're just being silly! Silly willy!

Well, it's not a scam, but I once got an e-mail. In it, someone was trying to tell me who I am.

Something like,

"Hi! You're !
You're ."

ETC.
Of course, what if one day they do find the person they were looking for? There has to be at least one on the earth...

I hate the ones on FaceBook that say that someone reported my page. I fell for it for some stupid reason and clicked on it to see why. Then it sent out a notification to random friends that said that I reported them. Which I didn't. I wait about 5 minutes and then I get about 20 chat things that pop up all asking me why I reported them...

When I was 8, in large family with five elder siblings and living parents, living in Scotland and are all white. I get an email, addressed to me on our family email account, saying that I was, somehow, the last remaining relative of the late President of Ghana and I would inherit his fortune if I would send him my bank details.

I was tempted to do so, because the joke would have been on him. At age 8 he would have just got a scam for about 80 pence.

EDIT : I mentioned skin colour as the chances of me being the son of anyone even remotely tanned are nothing short of ludicrous, as I am as pale as a corpse that's been dead in the water for a few days.

Something similar actually. It said a million dollars was ready to be transferred to my account.

[sub]Zimbabwean dollars[/sub]
Wouldn't that amount to like five bucks? :)

OP: My friend's mother almost fell for one of those scams (Except this time they were Danish, not Ugandan) but his dad caught her just as she was about to give away her PIN number.

I got a phishing email telling me that my wow account was thought to be compromised, that I was suspected of gold trafficking, and that if i didn't verify my account in 24 hours by including my name, address, password, security answer, security question (shouldn't they know that already?) and the billing information including my credit card number, expiration date and activation key, I would permanently be banned from all blizzard services. Oh, btw... the email was sent from B1izzard.com.

I was playing wow when I got the email.

Epic phishing fail, my vent mates got a few good laughs.

There was an add saying I was the 1,000,000 visitor of the site which was impossible because it had only been up for like 1 and a half days.

An e-mail claiming that if I forwarded it to twenty people I would get a free cell phone, with no explanation as to how the people who'd send me the cell phone would know my adress, that I had forwarded the e-mail or how they'd even know I'd got it in the first place for that matter.

My mom believed them. She's not the brightest bulb in the box.

I know these aren't scams per se but they are bloody annoying - I'm talking about the spams e-mails you get that jibber on about if you don't send it to so many people you'll die in like ten days or along those pissing lines.

Should check out the reverse nigerian scams.

A group of people who receive the scams have taken to tricking the scammers themselves, getting money, apology letters or outrageous pranks pulled on them.

Best would be a nigerian who enacted the entire Parrot Sketch for a "Creative Director" as audition for the money

For 56 cents, I decided that it was worth seeing if this really was a scam. Still haven't heard back from them.

What's really weird is that the currency of Uganda is called a shilling, not a dollar. So technically it's 800,000 Uganda Shillings(UGX) which is about £250.

Worst. scam. ever!.

Not only can they not get the currency correct they are essentially saying "You won £250 but to claim it send us £200"
