I've never gotten any scam mail. Or junk mail. Ever. Maybe it's because I'm not technically handicapped like everyone else.

So after getting an e-mail claiming I've won money on a draw I've never even entered and all I have to do is send £200 along with all my personal details, I decided to create this thread so you fellow escapians can share examples of the best fail scams you've ever seen...
You too? Maybe we could pool the money from these lotteries and become nigerian princes.
Good idea XD

What's really weird is that the currency of Uganda is called a shilling, not a dollar. So technically it's 800,000 Uganda Shillings(UGX) which is about £250.

Worst. scam. ever!.

Not only can they not get the currency correct they are essentially saying "You won £250 but to claim it send us £200"
I lol'd. The escapist was subjected to some scams too. Several people ended up with Nigerian scam mail, I got one of those saying "send money to help me find [x]'s remains that was buried in the jungles of [Y] because jealous businessmen [Z]'d him/her to death. Your efforts would be greatly rewarded because conveniently [x] had the bank safe number tattooed into his/her bones making it possible to reward you once you send the money for me to find his corpse."

Heh I got one where a lawyer says a relative of mine died in south Africa and I have inherited ten million US dollars, asking me to send my bank information and a US$10000 to receive it.

My WHOLE FAMILY(as in EVERYONE who is in anyway related to me) doesn't have half a million 0_o sheesh talk about stupid scammers.

In addition to that, I have no family members in the African continent.

Also, what doesn't make sense is why don't the sender just deduct 10000 from my 19 million and send it to me...I don't understand how people can fall victim to these idiots.

Well...
I got an e-mail telling me how nice it was to meet me, and also how in love with me the person was.

Which was kind of awkward.
I mean, love at first sight?
Fine - a bit unlikely, but fine.

But love before meeting someone you know nothing about?
That's even sillier.
I'm sorry Max, I was too shy to just say hello..

I have got a few of these too, it is especially funny when they talk about having my children. Um.. it doesn't really work that way...

I was just reading this thread when I got spam in my hotmail box saying I could be legible for financial aid for College.

I already have financial aid for College.

Several more people were subject to a mass PM'ing where someone said they had checked out your profile and wanted to contact you more, before giving you their email. That was an annoying scam.

I once got an email saying that my WoW account had been hacked and they needed some details to get it working again. Except I don't have a WoW account -_-'

Also, this wasn't a scam aimed at me but I saw it in the comments section of some site:

Meet hot, young, multi-billionaire women waiting to have sex with you in your local area...

...and you can kind of get the basic idea of it. It was quite funny at the time.

I thought the question was going to what would you do with 800,000 dollars of that currency.

I'd probably get a coffee, and if I had already been carrying some change maybe a muffin too.
