Zombie Apocalypse Squad (Cancelled !)

[Yup Chris, assuming that he'll keep on living.]

High-mane advanced on Duke, who was trying to crawl backwards.

"Yeah, I've got a plan. Samuel whispered, "Try to keep off the other wolves off me, I'm going to try to severe his spine, that will keep him busy for a while."

The giant wolf raised his claws, and Samuel jumped forwards. He grabbed High-Mane's wrist and but his other hand against the elbow joint. He pulled at the wrist and broke the arm. High-Mane growled out of pain, and turned to Samuel. His left arm hung limply. Sparrow lept towards the other wolves that were advancing on him. High-Mane spoke:

"Foolish wolf, did you really-"

Samuel didn't let him finish, he sunk his claws in the thick hide of High-Mane and spun him around. He then sliced open his back, and feeling something break. The wolf sunk to his knees, and went limp. He let out a last growl and fell to the earth. He was still breathing, but was disabled for the time being. Sparrow was having a small bit of trouble with the wolves.

"Sparrow! Get Robin and run towards the carrier!"

He ran through the mass of wolves and grabbed Duke, who was unconcious. He grabbed him and ran towards the airport.

 

[Sparrow]

[Sparrow did as he was told, and picked up Robin, after throwing a few wolves aside. He followed Sam, signalled him to keep running. They'd never get away at this rate, so Sparrow set Robin down.]

Run like a freaking Whippet, Robin.

[Sparrow pulled to a hault, and ripped out a large chunk of the ground beneath him, at least twice his body size. He hurled it at the ground, as the wolves fell like domino's. He caught up with Sam instantly, and picked up Robin once more.]

Heh, won't be long before you can do that Sam!

[Oh, you just had to do something equally cool, didn't you?]

Samuel looked at the strenght Sparrow wielded. He had never seen him do something like that. A part within him was a wee bit jealous, but he was mostly grateful that Sparrow was on their side, and not a full wolf.

The pack was slowed down by the giant clump of earth, but not stopped. Samuel could see the sentries of the station already. He through of something. Duke had said that the humans packed silver magazines.

"Quick! Robin! Are we as vunerable to silver as the werewolves are?!" He yelled to Robin.

*Andy walked through the rather large hole in the wall that she had created. Luckily, the breaching had gone roughly as planned - although she'd underestimated the amount of explosive force that had been piled against the door.

I hope that wasn't a supporting wall

*The explosion seemed to have taken the lights out as well; The whole level was dark. Andy struck a match and entered the room. The room was seemed to be large enough that the small circle of light provided by the match was rendered inadequete. The only thing she could see outside the small glow was another hole, this time on the wall opposite. It was ringed by and orange, flame-like glow, and light was spilling through it*

Finally! The portal! I hope that those people haven't already reached that lab they were on about, otherwise I'll be endangering myself further for no reason

*Andy ran towards the portal, match held in front of her. Suddenly, from the gloom, a waist-high object loomed - she ran straight into it. She managed not to fall over, but in doing so, dropped the match, which landed on her foot.

The petrol soaked shoes caught fire instantly*

 

[Sparrow]

[Robin laughed]

Your a dog, not a wolf. It will hurt you no more than a regular round! Us dogs only dislike them because they're shiny. We also like to bark at the moon because it's shiny. Us dogs love our shiny things.

[Shift]

[Sparrow sighed]

Here was me thinking that I had mystical properties...

[Shift]

It does. It's very shiny at the same time though.

 

[SamuelT]

[Oh Chris, you did not get zombie-goo all over my APC, did you?]

"Good!" Samuel yelled after the dialogue between the two "Just keep running through the barricade and towards the carrier, we need to get Duke some medical attention!"

The sentries spotted the wolves, with Sparrow and Samuel leading, running towards them. They burst into action. Turrets were manned, snipers took positions and the rattelling of a machine guen sounded. An alarm went off too. Samuel could feel the bullets impact on him. They are very shiny, he thought. He shook off the pain.

"Sparrow! Shield Robin! He's vunerable to the rounds!" he said to Sparrow. He truned so that his shoulders and torso shielded the dog. Shrieks of dying wolves sounded behind them. Samuel grinned. The cries of fallen enemies sounded to him like a symphony.

When they reached the barricades, the gun-fire was directed at them. Sparrow smashed through the makeshift wooden-and-concrete wall, and the soldiers on it fell towards the ground. They didn't stop, and the sentries started to fire at the wolves charging at them. The carrier was a small mile ahead. They made it.

 

[Sparrow]

[Sparrow did as best he could to protect Robin from the shots, ducking and weaving between bullets. He didn't exactly look majestic. He zipped inbetween the guards, trying not to hurt any of them. He accidentally shoulder barged one a good 30 foot, but he looked ok. You know, besides the gaping head wound.

He trailed behind Sam, and pulled away some of the fire from him. Duke was hurt enough.]

You think they'd have realised that we're the good guys, but noooo. Morons.

[Sparrow looked up ahead, and spotted the carrier.]

So, what now?

 

[SamuelT]

"Well, first I wanted to lay low for a while untill the sun had risen again, but with Duke that's not an option." Samuel said, slowing down to a slow run instead of a frantic sprint. "We've got to get him to Doc. So onwards to the carrier, I'd say."

"Unless...you've got suggestions? I'm open for 'em"

 

[Sparrow]

[Sparrow thought about it for a few seconds.]

We could always infect him. I mean, if his wounds are that severe...

[Shift]

Sorry boy, but thats not an option here. If just anybody could survive the process, don't you think I'd go about infecting everyone I see? It's not that simple.

[Shift]

[Sparrow sighed.]

Alright then Sam, your plan sounds the best.

 

[SamuelT]

Samuel nodded and crossed the 200 meters that seperated them and the carrier. He gently put down Duke and banged with his fist on the carrier's hold doors. The metal got dented a bit. There was a scurry within the plane and the doors dropped. Samuel picked Duke up again and stepped back, next to Sparrow.

Put me down, I can stand. Robin said. Sparrow put Robin down. Samuel saw that Sparrow still bled from some bulletwounds. He had just two wounds, neither of them were severe.

When the doors were dropped, they were greeted by the barrel of a gun.

[Euh..yeah. Bit of a problem here. We've got a carrier with people in them, but no one is playing right now. And they haven't been online for some time now. We can't just move the characters for them, that would be Grand Theft Person.]

Well, that was a sore and unnecessary inconvenience

*Pulling her - now slightly shorter and blacker - trousers back on, Andy navigated her way barefoot to the portal by the light of her smouldering shoes. Pausing only to make sure it looked relatively safe on the other side, she dove through*

 

[Sparrow]

OOC: Yes, we appear to have hit quite a brick wall. We could always have Andy and Chris take over for them though, that way they'd still be seperate people playing the characters.

On the other hand, what happens next in my bit of the plot involves at least one character who's past and personality exist purely in Portal's brain, and until he logs on I don't want to go any further in case I mess up his character's development and back-story

[You too? I'm effectively stuck until Portal gets back too. I'll give him the rest of the weekend - then I'm making stuff up!]

1. Yeah, but we've got to go through a lot of talking and explaining, and the reactions can be very personal from the person (!) who's controlling it.

2. I...love that. Just don't make it a MAKO, á la Mass-Effect.
