/The APC arrives at O'Hare airport

[sorry guys, not letting you get on that easy]

*As the APC rolled through the streets of Chicago an eerie silence filled the vehicle (zapper must be asleep =). The streets had been completely empty for quite a while now and the lack of conflict was beging to way on the crew.*

*Suddenly two armed guards step in to the roadway, armed with fully automatic weapons they wave down the APC... some sort of blockade becomes evident before them in the street*

/one guard to the other

"Looks like we've got us some military boys here, ay Guido?"

"Yeah Nunzio, I think the boss'll be real happy if we come back with a tank. May even forgive us for the whole 'Pigeon' thing, ya' think?"

*Nunzio winces slightly*
"I'd hope so cuz', just don't let on that we're lookin' to take the thing. I'm sure that turret deal's still workin'"

[You guys know the reason that we have were-wolves is because I was referencing the radio personality "Wolfman Jack" from the post apocalypse movie 'Six String Samurai"? I was trying to frame Haze for murdering 'the King' back in Las Vegas (before I new that he deserved it) and get you all into some hot water =D]

Besides, I'm bettin', two ta one we'd get you before you could get the both of us... not ta mention our friends up there. *pointing to the second story of a near by building*
Anyways, to answer your question. I'm Guido and this here's my cousin Nunzio. And you boys are?"

*both guards lower their aim as Guido begins to speak*

"Manitiowoc, he? I hear there aint much north of hear but them monsters and military (not that there's much'a difference 'tween the two though *Chuckle*

*he begins to retrain his weapon on Chris*

*accusingly*
"Waid'a minute... you'se guys anit military types are you? The Don don't like army types pokin' round this part of town"

 

[Sparrow]

[Sparrow stared at the dog, blankly.]

Oh, erm... ok then Robin?

[Sparrow turned to Sam]

I've seen some weird things, but this takes the piss. Since when does a zombie invasion make dogs talk?

[The dog sighed, and shook his head at Sparrow.]

What? Look at it this way. If you met a talking cat, wouldn't you be a little freaked out?

..."Not army - I'm not even American. Like I said, just a group of guys headin' North and not looking for any trouble. We didn't realise this was your turf, and if you don't want to let us through, that's fine, we can just turn around, go back the way we came and head around the city instead of goin' through it. It'll add a bit to our journey, but you won't be bothered by us any more.

"There's no need for shots to be fired. All that'll accomplish is a couple of your guys getting killed and a couple of mine, and either we'll ram your barricade or head back the way we came, but neither of us will gain anything from a firefight."

[Sorry forgot about your origins =P]

*Guido nods in agreement*
"Man, I thought you where Bostin... accent and all. But I couldn't agree more man, couldn't agree more. Gun fightin' aint doin' nobody no good, just taken out what people's left 'round here. That's what them army fellas don't understand, always pushin' and yellin' and what-not... no good for anyone."

"But this aint nobodys territory, we's just makin' sure that aint no 'moanys and groanys' get in to the rest of us. Give us a hand movin' these saw horses and we'll get you'se guys on your way"

*he and Nunzio begin pushing things around*

"Your gonna have to go a few block east up there... *grunt* ...pretty big crater up there"
*Pointing up the street*
"Oh hey, if you need anything while your in town there's a shop back there too. Goods for trade an what not."

Between posts 1776 and 1802 (Pages 51-52) I cleared everybody out of it so that Portal, Shar, Zapper and I could steal the APC and high-tail it to Portal's lab in Lake Michigan to get the others treated. You'll be back at the warship in Kansas City with the others not having a clue where we or Sam and Sparrow are.]

"Damn, that was close..."

*Guido slaps his forehead as the APC drives off*

*Andy reaches the deepest level of the complex. She's covered in blood: it's all over her clothes, in her face and hair, dripping from the butt of her rifle - two cartridges had not been enough.

She slowly, carefully, walks down the corridor, keeping her back to the wall; That had nearly been the end of her several times - the zombies kept surrounding her.

There was something not quite right about this corridor. It may be the flickering lights playing tricks, but it looks like there's a large smear of blood near a door. The door, infact - it's the only one in this corridor, and evidently houses something special: It's nearly as thick as the Panic room doors. She'd seen more of them, the Panic rooms, and each had been more grisly than the last. But a couple had still been occupied; She'd nearly been shot several times, both when the staff had thought she was a zombie and when they had realised otherwise. Evidently these scientists were very protective of their research*

*Andy reached the door. After a quick look round, she tried to push it open. It didn't move*
