"Well you can head over to the cafeteria to get food. After that there isn't much to do other than volunteer for patrol or something. Missions don't get handed out until you've been here for a bit," Jacobs replied, noticing the jeep going to the office.

When they reached the building there was a small line of people getting checked. Instructions could be heard over the intercom: "Men to the left, women to the right. You will give a small blood sample. If you pass you will be escorted to a stall and will undress. Once it is proven that there are no bites you will be allowed to put your clothes back on and will be moved to the main hall for a brief speech of what is to be expected. Thank you."
"That repeats every few minutes," muttered a man in a lab coat, writing down a few things near the front of the line.

"Something to eat would be excellent. Then i think i'll volunteer for something, I don't feel up for sleeping." Christie decided before starting to leave with the Private, she put her hands in her almost full pockets, feeling her adrenaline start to die down.

They cooperated, moving to their respected lines and waiting for the four people in lab coats to approach them and take the sample. She was slightly nervous considering a older woman standing in line a few places beside her, had her blood sample taken, given a slight shake of the head and escorted out. Although, she knew for sure that she couldn't have been infected, the thought was off-putting. The group was only small, so she had her sample taken in a matter of minutes. She winced slightly at the feeling of needle as they took the blood for screening.

"You're fine. Please head into stall B4," said the lady who took her test after getting the results back. "All we're looking for is bites sweetie, and everyone has to do it," she said, noticing Lisa's reluctance.

"Alright then," Jacobs said, paying a lot of attention to the jeep. He told Christie to hold up as he quickly ran over and asked a few questions to the driver. He ran back with a smile, "The notes are here! Yay. One step closer to beating those zombie bastards!" They continued to walk to the cafeteria, entering the line for food inside the bustling building.

Folding her arms, she went along to the stall, keeping to the right side with the few women. Not happy to have to do this, Lisa sighed before removing the clothes that Adries had given her what seemed like days ago, considering the morning they'd had. She hung them on a holder to the side while she waited for them to check her over, anticipating to get out of there.

The room was almost full of activity, It was near the beginning of breakfast it seemed, as personnel and civilians alike sat down at the canteen tables to eat. Some left with bag lunches, obviously taking a short break before going back to work. For a while she dabbled over what Jacobs had meant before turning to him as they moved closer in the line.
"Did you mean Julia Bixler's notes? The infamous notes that is the formula for this virus?"

"Pretty sure they are. We believe it is at least. We still aren't sure if those were the ones we had picked up when we ambushed these other soldiers, but maybe," Jacobs said cheerfully, grabbing a plate and getting some eggs. "This is a good thing. I mean, it'll take awhile to get through them all to see if it is them, but we can do it," he said, taking a few strips of bacon.

After a few moments inside the stall, the lady allowed Lisa to get dressed and head out to the main hall. "Have a nice day," she said, lining up the next person.

"You too." She replied politely, rolling up the sweater sleeves slightly again. Lisa dwindled in the corridor for a moment waiting for Ivan, he came out after a few minutes and they both followed into the main hall. After all of the orientation was done, she'd take a look at the tracker and try to slip away.

Christie helped herself to a blueberry muffin and some scrambled eggs on toast. She found Jacobs' mood entertaining.
"The solution should be well on it's way, huh? After a lot of research and work, combined with Bixler's DNA, a vaccine seems plausible. All the lives that could be saved. We'll be hailed as heroes for bringing major additions to the cause." She added with slightly more enthusiasm.

"Yeah, well it all depends on what they picked up from those guys," Jacobs replied. "And hopefully the plan will then really be put forth and everything will turn up great. More than likely there will be some slip-ups but we'll do it. I know we can," he said enthusiastically as he drank some orange juice.

In the main hall there were only around fifty people. Captain Conroy walked up onto the stage, explaining that the normal speech by Kaufman would be put on hold due to other matters. Instead Conroy said the speech, adding a few little ideas of his own here and there before letting them go to the back for questions and volunteer work.

"As there is for most plans. I mean they're a given. Although, hopefully the slip-ups are brief and none too damaging. So long as we stick together as a team, do our part, support the cause and all that. I believe we'll definitely conquer this." She said lightly before taking a bite into the muffin and washing it down with some of the black coffee she'd craved for the past few days.

Lisa listened through the speech, her mind often drawing to the exits and how they would go about getting out without being noticed too much. When the speech finished, she stood and opened her bag, slipping the tracker into her pocket quickly and turning it on. She first looked like she was looking at the volunteer work before turning to go off in the direction of the bunkers.

"Indeed. After this I'll have to go and do my patrol. You can do whatever you want," Jacobs said as he finished up his breakfast. He bid farewell to Christie, telling her to head to the office if she wanted to do some work.

Jack had left the small room and found the cafeteria. He got a simple sandwich and water, then left with the food. He started to head back to his room to eat in peace.

As Jack made his way back to the room, he felt a small tremor. But he paid it no mind and continued his walk. But something wasn't right. As he continued his trek, the tremors became heavier and in a walking pattern. Machine Gun rounds were fired and yelling from outside was heard. Jack ran to the nearest window to see the commotion.

A group of soldiers were firing at something. What ever it was, it was easily bigger and longer than a bus. But before they could do real damage, the thing swiped one of it's long, many arms at the soldiers. The soldiers get stuck into the thing's arm, quickly sinking into it's skin like it's quicksand. One soldier was left. His clip was empty. With nothing left, he fell to his knees, fearing for his life. The giant, faceless monster tromped towards the soldier. It gave him a curious look, then roared it's gaping black mouth at the guy, smoke billowing from it. When the Smoke cleared, nothing was left of the soldier.

The monster noticed Jack looking at it, and threw a car at his window. He dove out of the way just in time. As he went back to the window, his eyes widened. The monster was gone. Then, as quick as a flash, it's head popped up before Jack. It climbed up the building! With it's free hand, it broke through the window, attempting to catch Jack. It failed. Jack ran back to the other soldiers for backup.

It's time for The Slagger!

This thing can:

-Blow out dark, acidic clouds of Ash, they cause instant death

-It can absorb humans with the simplest touch, so proceed with caution

-And it can scale buildings (obviously)

P.S.: Sorry for taking so long, my laptop frequently overheats, and i had to wait awhile for it to cool down.

((no problem, and I hate you so so much right now))

Jack immediately ran out of the building and into a nearby bunker where he knew it couldn't follow due to its size. He scoured the bunker for weapons but found only the standard assault rifles, shotgun, and pistols. He grabbed an assault rifle and jammed a pistol in his holster before working his way deeper into the bunker, trying to find a back way out from the underground complex.

((No prob. Sorry we didn't notice the last post of yours...))

Albert and Adries noticed the Slagger before everyone else, and quickly tried to figure out what to do.
"We have to warn them!" Adries yelled to Albert who was trying to calm her down.
"We can't! We can't be found. Shit, what the hell is that thing? It's worse than anything I've ever seen!"
"Shit, this looks like that beast that Alan showed me. I guess it made it's way over here."

Jack continued to move through the bunker and found what was obviously a clinic inside the bunker, probably a makeshift ER or infirmary. He saw someone he immediately recognized sitting on a bed.

'Oh shit not now. Dear lord please not now, anyone but him.' He mentally griped as he moved towards the one person in the group he could do without seeing again.

"No! I don't want the fucking IV! Get the fuck away!" Alan yelled from his bed at Westin, who was trying to calm him down.
"Calm the fuck down! You are still considered a prisoner and you must do what we say! You won't survive without the IV!" Westin yelled back, getting annoyed with his patient.
"I don't want to fucking live! My life is a fucking hell all thanks to you and your fucking military men!" Alan roared back, throwing his food at Westin.
"Don't make me call security," Westin said, blocking the carton of juice thrown at him.
"Fuck you!"

Jack jogged up and saluted.

"Sir! I've been ordered to move the prisoner to a secure area. The base is under heavy attack by an infected of unknown origin and ability. All soldiers are ordered to head topside and defend the base from it. Heavy casualties and damage have already been inflicted, but it snuck up on the defenders." The beast roared loudly and it could be heard from inside the bunker.

"That would be it now sir. Please hurry, they need all the help they can get." Jack watched as the soldier immediately left the room leaving Alan and Jack alone.

"Get the IV in your arm. I'm going to get you as far as the gates, but after that its up to you. Stay with me or don't, I'd prefer the latter though." Jack said to him.

"Fuck you. Fuck you. And fuck you," Alan replied, his fury causing him to throw the rest of his food at Jack before huddling under his blankets. "Yeah you're going to get me to the gates. My fucking hero. Yeah, that'll work except the fact that I can't fucking walk, because I have fucking stitches up my arse. So yeah, great plan fuckwad!"

"Did I mention the part where I have a fucking police cruiser? Tell me where you need to go and I'll fucking drop you off there, but if you'd rather stay here I can just leave right now. If the soldiers don't come for you the acid breathing quicksand beast will. So I would kindly suggest you stick the fucking IV in your fucking arm and fucking come with me!" Jack was fed up with Alan and completely ready to leave.

"Oh yes, they'll just let you waltz on by. Taking their prized prisoner with him. You do realize your plan sucks right?" Alan asked from under his sheets as soldiers ran on by. "Just, leave me alone. That's all I want right now."
