Christie gave a semi-approving nod.
"I suppose that would do. She can sit in time out for a while. If she doesn't cooperate, we'll have more than a nice chat." She added balefully, keeping the taser in her left hand and leaning with her right.

"That's fine by me. I think it's about time we're scheduled for some good luck, so maybe things won't end up as the latter. But what is the plan?" Lisa asked, realizing they weren't too far from the base now.

Jacobs and Dewey gave her a nervous glance, before going back to what they were doing. After a minute Dewey pointed in front of them to the jeep further down along the road.
"Hey there they ar- are they heading back to the base?" Jacobs asked, a confused look on his face.

"The plan...is to throw a tantrum and yell at people until I can see my uncle," Alan explained, "I have a feeling that they really need me for the anti-viral, so I simply ask that they provide me with what I need for it and keep everyone I like safe. Makes sense right?"

"I'll be damned." Christie smirked, "Well that's unexpected. Let's follow them, shall we? I don't think we'll need to get out and exchange words unless they turn somewhere. We'll meet them inside and escort them to the General."

"Yeah that sounds f-Huh? Did you just say that you know how to create the anti-viral?!" She asked turning to face him with surprise but looking hopeful.

"Kinda. I was only given a little hint on this note my aunt left for me. But I know where the rest of it is located, but I need help to get it. And that's where these people come in. They can supply me with protection, a nice lab to work in, and that laptop," Alan explained as they neared the complex. "Where is my sister and Uncle Al? I'll probably bring them in this too."

"Well, it seems they are heading there! I'm kinda confused," Jacobs said, scratching his head.
"Maybe they just really hate us," Dewey said with a chuckle, slowing down a bit.

"Oh, they're not too far from here. We'll head there first. I hope they aren't freaking out or anything, I haven't spoken to them since this morning." Lisa agreed taking a turn off of the road towards where the truck had been parked, "But that's fantastic, Alan. You're that much closer to finding it."

"Maybe. But look." Christie spoke, pointing to the jeep which made a turn from the road. "It seems that they're taking another entrance. Looks like they aren't as complying as we thought."

"Indeed," he said contently.
They drove up to the hiding place where Ivan's truck was. They drove up a little further to find Albert and Adries still spying on the base. Alan honked the horn, causing both to jump into the area. Albert pointed a gun at them, before realizing who it was.
"Oh hey Alan!" he said cheerfully, walking over, "I see you got him out of the base."
"Yeah, but we're going into it. Hop in," Alan said, getting two confused looks from them, "Argh, I'll explain later! Oh hey, we were being followed."

Just then Dewey, Christie, and Jacobs pulled up behind them, still kinda confused at what was happening. Jacobs opened up his door and walked over, going to see what was going on.

Christie watched from the car, waiting for her moment to get out. She watched Jacobs approach the car, he didn't seem to have a weapon, so she wondered what his angle was.

"Where'd they come from?" Lisa asked in exasperation, but unworried when she saw that it was the Private. She unlocked the backdoors so that Adries and Albert could get in, then rolled down her window to talk to him.

"Umm...what are you doing?" Jacobs asked them as he walked up to the window.

"Ask him," Adries said, pointing to her brother as she entered the jeep.
"Well," Alan started, "We're going to join forces with you guys. So don't try to kill us or anything. We're heading back to the base to negotiate the terms of this."

"Oh okay. Cool, we'll follow you in then," Jacobs said, heading back to the car and sitting in the back. "So yeah they're on our side now or something."
"Really? Alrighty then," Dewey said, backing up the car so that the jeep could back up and they could follow it to the base.

She rolled up the window and started off back the way they came.
"I suppose if we had them with us, We wouldn't need to go through the scans." Lisa said driving past the car then starting to pick up speed again then looked in the rear-view mirror into the back-seats.
"So have you two been watching the base since this morning?"

Christie wasn't impressed. She rested her hand to her mouth. She didn't mind the fact that Kaufman wouldn't be infuriated now, but Bixler's intentions weren't visible to her yet. She decided to let it rest for the moment until everything had become clear.

"Basically. Not much going on," Adries replied, getting comfortable in her seat as they neared the base.
"I was bird watching. Lot's of different types...though I think a few might have been zombie birds," Albert said, "You sure we can trust these people?"
"No, but I'm willing to take the risk...and I want an apology from Uncle Max," Alan replied.
"What? He's there! *****. ************! You better not let me see him boy or else I might just not be able to contain myself," Albert said, pouting.
"I'll do my best."

They reached the base and they were allowed in once everything was sorted out with Jacobs and Dewey. They then proceeded to go to the clinic, where Kaufman would be waiting for them.

Lisa kept at least ten steps away from Christie at all times, trying to keep her mind off of her. Her eyes drew to the partly familiar areas she'd seen earlier to the people she was walking with. She considered finding Alan a wheelchair to make things easier on him, catching sight of him barely limping with Adries supporting him, Albert looked straight-faced obviously ill-tempered at seeing Kaufman.
I can't believe that the General is technically another Bixler. Adries really was right about her family being dispersed around the city.

She walked with the Private and the Corporal paces behind the small group. She kept her arms folded and let out a yawn. She actually felt a pang of nervousness while they approached the clinic.

Kaufman stood up when they entered, giving a wary look at them all. There was a long moment of silence before Kaufman said, "Quite a family reunion no?"
"Fuck you!" Albert replied, getting looks from everyone around them.
"It's nice to see you too. Well, let's get you a bed and we'll...discuss what needs to be discussed," Kaufman addressed to Alan, leading him to a small room.

"I want them there too," Alan said, pointing to his family and Lisa as he sat down on the bed.
"Well then I want a few guards to keep me safe," Kaufman replied, gesturing to Captain Conroy who asked Dewey, Jacobs, and Christie into the room.

"This is quite crowded," Adries said, sitting next to her brother and uncle Albert.
"Sorry about that, there isn't any room bigger than this here," Kaufman replied, still getting steely glares from Albert.

Christie followed the instructions, standing near the doorway and leaning against the wall to avoid taking up much space. Jacobs was to the right of her and Dewey to the left, they stood silent for the time being, observing the situation.

Lisa shyly took a seat beside Albert, put off my the General. She rested her hands on her lap, her eyes occasionally jotting around the room, feeling slightly uncomfortable.

"Alright. First off Alan, I was to express how sorry I am at what happened and I promise you it will not happen again," Kaufman said to Alan, who nodded and thanked him, "Right. Well then, name your wants and we'll come to a compromise."

"Well, keep us all safe for the first thing. Second, let me have a lab of some sort so that I can work. Third, I need my aunt's laptop. I don't know if you know where it is, but if you can get it it'd make everything move along quicker," he listed before turning to Albert, Adries, and Lisa, "Anything else you might want to add?"

Lisa shook her head,
"I don't have anything on mind at the moment. You already said safety. That's all I can really think of for now. Thank you." She replied politely, moving a strand of hair from her eyeline as she turned to answer.

"Alright, that's it then," Alan told Kaufman who nodded.

"Sounds well and all. I'm willing to do that, but here are my terms. You must all have someone watching over you at all times or you will have something put on you that we can track, making sure nothing bad happens or anything. Alan, you will only give the anti-virus to me and not plan on betraying me. You will have a lab to yourself, which will always be guarded by a few men. Everyone must stay within the base unless told that they can go. If we can agree on that then it's settled," Kaufman said, waiting for a response.

"I can deal with that," Alan said, getting a nod from Adries and a very reluctant nod from his uncle.

Lisa nodded after a few moments, realizing that it was probably the best option.
Maybe i was right about what I said about it being our turn for some good luck? This has gone well.

"Alright then," Kaufman said as he stood up, "A lab is set, though we'll move you into it tomorrow due to how late it already is. You three can stay in the civilian bunking as of now. We'll have these soldiers here escort you to your rooms and keep watch until we get out some ankle bracelets for you. Good day." With that he left to do some work, leaving everyone there to mingle.

"Wow, this is good eh?" Jacobs asked cheerfully, saluting Kaufman as he left.

"Something worked out for once, I think I'm in shock." Lisa said starting to relax again, grinning a little,

"Where do we escort them? and does this mean we have to keep watch over them tonight?" Christie muttered with little enthusiasm to the two other soldiers, moving from the doorway for the General to leave, giving a salute while she did so.

"We'd probably take them to their rooms at the civilian area...unless they're hungry. Then we'd take them to the cafeteria, that seems nice," Jacobs said cheerfully, saluting when Conroy left them too.

"Finally something is right! God I'm tired. I think I'll just go to bed or something," Alan said.
"Well, this could be nice. This could work. Right?" Adries asked, looking at everyone.
Albert mumbled something that sounded like insults.
