"God fucking dammit your aren't listening! This is to keep everyone from harm. Can you not understand what I'm saying?" she yelled, her anger and frustration clear as day. "You think I want to not tell you guys what I know? You really think I do? You're fucking retarded then! Maybe you should trust me when I say it's better that you don't know! Why would I want to lose friends that I never had? Especially in a zombiepocalypse!?! You know what, you're a better leader than I could ever be. You should stay with them. I was planning on going to where my dad was anyway."

Jack stopped and looked at Adries.

"I'm sorry Adries, but I'm not exactly giving you that option. I'm going to find answers, with or without the group. In fact, its better if you stay with them, just listen to Ivan and Lisa and they will get you through any situation. I know where I must start if my life is to ever having meaning again, if this world has any chance of returning to normal. I know I need to go back to that broadcasting station. There was a reason that security room was so much more heavily outfitted than most, and I would bet it has something to do with whatever you are hiding.

Besides you need the group if you intend to save your father and mother. Find them, save them, and get to that hospital. You will need to send Ryan my way when you go to the hospital, he is infected and will be killed if he goes with you. Depending on how long it has been since this talk for you and the group to be ready for that...you of all people should be able to figure out how far along my search would be. Whether you tell me or not, I'm going to find that secret, I'm going to find where this all started, and I will figure out how to stop this from spreading any further. Who knows, maybe I'll get lucky and figure out how to stop it once and for all." Jack walked toward her and pointed at the door which was visible from the hallway.

"That message on the right is for you. Learn it and what it means by heart...and carry it and its meaning until your dying breath." Jack simply stood there silently, a feeling their talk wasn't over.

Adries just stared at him, not sure what to say. She finally just threw her hands in the air, "Fine. Go. I give up. You won't listen to me, and I won't stop you. So. Fine. Whatever. Bye. Don't die. And when you find out what you want you'll know why I didn't tell you anything."

With that she started to walk back to the class.

Charles heard Adries coming back, he quickly ran back to the class room and sat back down with a folder.

(night.....for real this time.)

"Adries before you go one last thing. That phrase 'Et tu, Brute?'. There was a fairly recent argument that its meaning was not one of betrayal, but a warning and a curse. Its true meaning, they argued, was you two shall know power, and you two shall die. I believe that in this spirit of warning you owe me the answer to two simple questions. 'Would your father hide this from his fellow officers now?'. The second question being 'Did your family hide it from you to protect you, or did they trust you with it?'. I never had a family of my own, but through these times whether you realize it or not we were a family.

Your biological family trusted you with this secret, but apparently you don't trust our family to this same extent. They could have hidden it from you because you are a child, but they did not because you were family. If there is one thing you must learn it is to trust your family with the good and the bad. We can be killed any time of any day, so why hide something that may kill us or allow us to prepare?

That is what you are truly hiding, knowledge. To hide this knowledge will be a more sure death sentence than simply telling us. Goodbye Adries, I hope you will learn something from this day. Gain wisdom from it, and end your tenure as a mere intelligent child and become a wise adult." Jack went back to heading toward the cafeteria to grab food and water. He would come back to get ammo and say his final goodbyes.

Adries walked back into the Chem room and took a seat down on a desk, not talking to everyone. After a few moments she yelled in anger and knocked off what was on the desk. When she realized what she did she walked out of the room and went into the library, punching a few walls and breaking some glass in the process.

Alan was silent during all of this, deciding that comforting his sister would not be a good idea at this time. 'Just wait for her to relax and calm down, then console,' he thought.

Jack made it to the cafeteria and loaded up as many crates with canned food and bottled water as he could, he left them there for the moment and started to walk back into the chem room to get ammo, a U-haul, and most importantly to say goodbye for the last time.

"WHY AM I CURSED WITH THIS FAMILY!???!" Adries yelled to herself in the library, crying as she sat down in the corner. 'Why did it come to this? Why? I mean no harm but people take it like I do,' she thought, convincing herself she did the right thing.

'Dammit this fucking sucks. I need to talk to dad. I can't deal with this anymore, but I know it won't be safe for my Alan and I to go there. Just have to take that risk.'

Jack walked back to the chem room with a crate only to find the room conspicuously empty. He gathered ammo in the crate and sat down at a desk. He would wait until he had a chance to say goodbye, and he needed the keys to a U-haul anyway.

((Its a plot device so everyone can do whatever kind of dramatic goodbye they want. I can't mind control well enough to become the other characters, and I don't want to clip the drama. So I will wait.))

"Err...uh, bye?" Alan said, having watched Jack enter the room and sit down. It was an awkward moment, so he went back to typing to other people.

((I understand. I'm going to be going to bed in a bit, so yeah.))

"Goodbye, it is a shame we did not get to know each other better I must say. Just know that I hold no blame to either you or your sister for what has transpired today. If nothing else tell her that. I do not blame her for anything from keeping secrets to the argument. Look out for her and keep that transmitter in the back going. If anyone can, it will be you." Jack said in a voice that was a mixture between tired and resigned as he sat at the desk.

"Cool. Alright, I'll keep it working. Hell I'll upgrade it. It shouldn't be a problem. I messed with some transmitters that my college professor brought to class," Alan said, looking at the transmitter. "They're no biggie. Really simple, even for an engineering minor like me. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. Sorry you're leaving and stuff though. I'm going to go and get something from the cafeteria. It's downstairs right?" Alan asked, completely getting sidetracked and walking out of the Chem room.

Jack shouted to him to be sure he could hear.

"Yes it is. Just downstairs and down the hall. Double doors on the right."

Alan walked down the hall, repeating what Jack just said. "Down hall, double doors, right," he muttered as he followed the path. He had gone to school here, so he knew most of the layout. 'Double doors. Where are you double doors?' he thought. He wasn't really in the hunger mood, he just wanted to get away. Both from the constant typing on the computer and from the tension in the room.

'Too much man,' he thought as he pushed open the cafeteria's double doors.

Jack watched Alan leave and quickly jumped on the computer. He immediately started searching not only the internet, but any files and folders on the computer that might have even the most tenuous link to Adries family and their connection to all this. He spoke to himself.

"Come on, come on. I know you people were just careless enough to store something of use, now where is it."

Alan had hid anything interesting behind multiple passwords, except for a year or two old chat he had had with his Aunt that had gotten mixed up with some of the other, not so important, chats he had had.

Julia: Alan, I am so glad that you passed your bio-engineering exams! I know you'll do a great job following my footsteps. ;)
Alan: Thanks. Congrats on the gov. grant too. :D
Julia: Why thank you! It's so nice to finally have my research put to good use! Oh, we Bixlers are going to be ever so famous for our work in this. Can't wait to have you as part of the team!
Alan: Sure can't wait for it! lol
Julia: Don't forget that you and Adries need to come to my lab so that I can take some of the blood for the experiment. I know how much you hate needles but I need it or else bye bye grant!
Alan: And bye bye college education. lulz :p No problem, I'll remind dad to take us. g2g to work Love you.
Julia: Love you too doll.

"Thank you, you lazy bastard." Jack said in a slightly jovial tone as he immediately saved it to an email and printed it out on the printer that every teacher had in their room for important announcements.

"Maybe now I can finally get some goddamn answers." Jack thought out loud as he set out to the cafeteria to find Alan.

Alan looked in the freezer and picked out an ice cream sandwich. "The one thing all Bixlers cannot live without," he said with a smile as he walked over to the tables and sat down. He started to munch on it, wondering if Parker would like it. 'Parker needs food too. I should probably see if there is anything he could eat,' he thought, standing up and heading back to the Chem room, 'Best ask everyone on the net what tarantulas eat. They were so glad to hear I have a pet.'

Jack ran into Alan in the halls on his way back, a satisfied smirk on his face. He held the paper so Alan could see it but out of reach.

"I know your aunt worked on whatever is doing this, and both you and your sister at the very least gave samples for testing. This doesn't matter to me at all but I do expect some real answers out of the both of you now. I am a scientist myself, did you think I wouldn't understand that some mistake was made in the name of great discovery? I teach physics for Christ's sake, my science is a series of errors corrected and built upon over time.

Now all I want to know is a few things. Where did this come from, and I mean the building where this was being developed. What is it exactly? What was it meant to do? Lastly is there any way to stop it and, if so, how? Nothing else matters and I would appreciate it if you wouldn't hide something as important as this again. Capiche?" Jack said without a hint of anger.
