"Whoah...dude chill out," Alan responded, grabbing a hold of Jack and leading him back into the cafeteria. When they were inside he closed and locked the double doors. He walked back over to Jack and gripped his hand on Jack's shoulder.

"Alright look. I'll cut the bullshit right now but you best know that I'm not telling you everything. Adries was right when she said it was to protect everyone," Alan said with an intensity that few would expect from him, "I don't know where the lab is, I was asleep for the drive. It's a fucking virus, ding dong and the government is fruitlessly trying to work on a cure. Obviously those already beyond the point of no return cannot be treated and are exterminated, but they tell everyone that it'll work and everything will be la-di-fucking-da. But there is no cure. Just don't get infected that's the fucking cure. The end, no more answers."

"Fair enough, but I'm going to tell you here and now that I'm going to make sure that this gets out to the world. If we know what research not to attempt again, we can at least attempt at making sure this doesn't happen again. A cure was a long shot anyway, hell even a vaccine would be low in probability of existing.

I knew it was a virus, I was hoping for a type. Basically if we are dealing with an Aids or cold like virus. I don't hope to cure the infected, but perhaps inoculate the populace if there were a vaccine to be found. Again, I know, long ass shot. I'm just going to spread the information to the public on what this is, nothing more. I just want to try and keep this from happening again. Consider your family's ever so precious legacy safe. Now tell me where your sister is before she does something incredibly stupid because of the three of us."

Jack was more frustrated now than angry. He wasn't going to push his luck yet though.

"Oh believe me there is a way to keep this from happening again and the government is going to start doing their all to get it done," Alan replied bitterly, letting go of Jack and unlocking the double doors. "I know Adries is in the library, but you best not go bother her. For your own sake," he said with a cold grin as he started his way back to the Chem room.

"Well unfortunately for me I'm piss poor at following orders." Jack said with a smirk as he made his way to the library and walked in.

Adries had stopped crying after a few minutes of yelling/rage crying therapy and was sitting down at one of the desks. She didn't want to go back into the Chem room on the off chance of Jack being there and her not wanting to deal with any questions or awkward silences she'd get from everyone else.

"I could go for an ice cream sandwich," she muttered, putting her head on the table and adding the ice cream to the top of her 'to do' list.

Jack saw Adries with her back to him and walked over and lightly bopped her on the head.

"I know your piss poor secret. Consider us even, and for future reference, I couldn't give a shit less what culpability your family had in this. All I want is to get it out to the public what this is so nobody else will attempt it. I don't care what your aunt did, or that you contributed blood at the very least to this. What I want is you to help me as you can in making sure it doesn't happen again.

We both know what government response to failed experiments is. We both also know that that just means the same mistake happens later and the cycle begins again. I want this cycle broken. So what I need from you is just you to say that you will help me and not hide such important information in the completely unimportant. Hell I don't care if you hide everything BUT the important information." He bopped her on the head again.

"Are you in or are you out on my plan?" He smirked as he said all of this.

"I'll have to hide the most important information, once again for everyone's safety. You don't even know the half of it, so please don't act like you know everything. If you can at least agree to that then yes, I guess I'm in. For now," Adries replied, not in the mood for a chat and burying her head in her arms, "I see you got Alan to talk, great. Figured he'd do something like that."

"As I said to Alan, fair enough. Again I don't give a shit about any of this beyond what was being studied, how, and what caused this. So beyond getting basic research notes out to the public I don't care. Alan didn't talk by the way, he was just careless with his messages."

Jack pulled the paper out and handed it to her.

"Whatever else you are hiding will be unveiled in due time one way or another Adries. I can assure you though when it comes to whatever was happening with your family I won't care or judge. Your family is your business, I just want the research and some uninterrupted world airtime. When it comes time to tell the world I will even erase every instance of your family from it, if you so wish." Jack said.

"I just ask that the both of you trust us a little more. We can handle more than you both think. I have not and never well expect full divulsion of information from any of us here. We all have secrets, I would just like it if you wouldn't hide things important to survival or planning. There being no cure or vaccine was of major importance to planning, so just simple things like that. Do you think you can at least try to do that for not just myself, your brother, or yourself, but all of us?"

"Fine, whatever," Adries said, tired of talking and wanting to be left alone, "I get what you're saying, doesn't mean I like it but I understand. And believe me when I say Alan is never careless with messages." With that she turned away from Jack, crumpling up the paper and stopped talking.

((And I think I'll stop here. Night...zzzzzZZzzzzZz.))

Lisa was deeply confused, she had inched away during the argument and had been in the nurse's room preparing a first aid kit for Jack. She couldn't believe that the group was separating now after everything that they had been through. She was waying up what she wanted to do while she got put pain medication in. She considered Adries one of her closest friends here, i mean she knew the most about her and she could've said she trusted her a lot too...now there was the nudging feeling that she wasn't sharing something important. Then she considered asking to go with Jack, she looked up to him and he obviously knew what he was doing.
Lisa didn't know what to do, she let out a weary sigh and finished up with the first aid box, writing a note on the back of one of her sister's notes reading- "Be careful, I hope you don't need to use this much- Lisa".
At first she expected to see him loading up the U-haul, then she started to look around the cafeteria then to the Chem room. Both Adries and Jack were in there- Adries looking tired and Jack looking somewhat calmer from before.
She didn't know whether to interrupt or not, so she knocked on the door.

Jack heard the knock and looked over.

"Ahh Lisa, to make a long story short I'm not leaving. I will leave it up to Adries what she tells you, but suffice it to say there is no cure or vaccine currently, this is definitely man-made, and there is no way to turn an infected back into a human. The plan now is basically find some research notes from where this came from, and broadcast them to the public." Jack sat down and leaned back in the chair.

"I'm going to let those messages stay though as a reminder to all of us. We all need to learn from this that some secrets are better shared. That will be the most important thing, especially as we make our way towards the center of all this."

Lisa nodded, relieved that he wasn't leaving after all and putting the first aid kit she had made on the table and sitting.
"So, the plan is to find those notes? Where would we even begin to look?" She asked, biting a nail and yawning.

Adries listened in on what they were saying, not feeling like butting in with her own ideas. 'Not that they would listen to me now that I've broken their trust,' she thought, deciding to ignore the conversation and try to sleep.

Alan, looked at his computer and brought up the old chat. He looked at it for a moment before deleting. 'Damn me and my guilty conscious,' he thought to himself as he went back to chatting with others.

((Morning everyone! Yawn.))

((borderline insomnia ftw))

"Well we have a couple of options really. We can go with either the police station or the broadcasting station. That security room in the Broadcasting station was well outfitted for some reason, and the police might have something on record if they either worked security for that station or for whatever building this thing was developed at. Honestly I would defer to either Adries or Alan for the final decision, they know more than either of us. One of them would probably have a better idea of where to start." Jack said.

((Having your great sleep be woken up by your young niece ftw! :( ))

Adries looked over at Jack and Lisa. She locked eyes with them and said, "The police station. I want to talk to dad anyways. The broadcasting station is safer though. No horde or anything. If Alan agrees with that we'll head to Farway station."

"Well that settles it then, the police station it is. Who knows we might also get some clue into whatever the government is really planning with all of this while we're there."

Adries groaned and rolled her eyes, putting her head on the desk again and growing quiet. After a moment she asked, "When will we leave? Now? Or in a bit? It stopped raining as of now, but it's still murky outside."

"It's up to you guys. I'm fine now or later. Where about's is the police station anyway?" She asked, yawning a little and laying back.

"Go ask Alan," Adries replied, "I'd like to take a quick nap before we go. So, can I have some peace and quiet please? Much appreciated."

Alan was reading a very interesting post he had found. Seemingly the cases of stronger, more mutated infected were growing. 'Takes time to grow,' he thought to himself, bringing up a Word document of his and writing it down. He saved and closed, hiding it behind some passwords.
