"Its not about how civilized we are, never has been. When someone knows something they shouldn't, governments throughout history have all come to the same conclusion. That person or people must die for the good of the state."

"Holy fucking shit!" Alan yelled, jumping forward at the tap on the shoulder and falling to the ground. He turned around and looked at Christie, horror filling his eyes. "Oh shit," was all he could say.

"Argh, I thought I hear-No, I did hear a scream somewhere. Like, a female scream...I don't know where it came from. Want to meet back up in the main hall? Or should we continue on and try to find the source separately? It'll get things done faster," Adries asked.

"We need to find that source, it is either someone in trouble or someone with information. Either way we need to find it and find it now." Jack said.

"I think we should re-group, if this is something serious than it's better to be in a large group. I mean, I didn't scream, I don't think you or Hayley did either so none of us are in danger yet. But Jack has a point. Hayley did you get that? Look for the source of the scream." Lisa replied, walking down a set of stairs towards the main area.
"I never said we were completely civilized, i mean we've definitely gone down on the scale of things. But maybe that was inevitable..."

Christie stared at him for a moment or two, unsure on what his problem was. Rolling her eyes, she extended a hand to help him up.
"Don't you know how to respond to authority? Now tell me. What's your authorization? What are you doing here? I expect an answer, This gun is loaded you know." She ordered giving a gesture to the rifle while keeping her eyes met with his and her gloved hand still extended.

"I don't think we've gone anywhere. Its always been the same." Jack's tone lightened considerably.

"In fact, I bet that if you can name a civilization that was more civilized than our own, or a time period for that matter. When we get out of this I'll pay you 300 hundred dollars. Might as well make the payment about as long as the US has existed I think."

"I'll head over there now," Adries replied, hoping that Alan was okay. She cursed when she remembered that he had no walkie-talkie, but calmed down when she remembered he had a gun. "He'll be fine," she muttered, walking down the stairs to the main hall.

Alan just stared at her for a moment with a confused expression. 'She doesn't know who I am,' he thought, grabbing a hold of her hand and standing up. "Um, well. Thanks. I was just looking for that scream. I'm still apart of that group. Just. You know. Yeah," he blabbered, grabbing his machete and putting it away.

"Scream? I heard that too. I suggest you return to the rest of your group, then administer a head count. I highly doubt anyone was attacked though, considering where we are right now. Lead on." Christie spoke with her usual demanding tone, putting the rifle over her shoulder ready to follow him.

Lisa considered what Jack had said, "Keep your money. I can think of a load of civilizations far more civilized than ours, we haven't got civility we've got advancements."

"Right," Alan said, his voice shaky. He hoped that this was a good sign, that they were not targets. He decided to try and find out. "What are you doing here? I thought you went to the hospital or something," he asked, walking back the way he came.

Adries was waiting for everyone back in the main hall. She looked at some of the pictures that they had up; some were of fallen officers, others were news strips of famous crimes here, and some were of the head officer. She looked at her father's picture, tears starting to well up. "Where are you?" she muttered.

"That's confidential. I am at liability to divulge that It is not part of my duty to bring back survivors to St. Justine, I control the team that are doing that. Let's just say...I'm looking for a certain group of people. That is all. I suppose it'd be rude of me not to introduce myself, Lieutenant colonel Christina Bailey. Considering the situation Christie is fine." She replied with a lighter tone, offering her hand as they stepped.

"Adries, did you find what caused the scream?" Lisa asked, as she jogged into the room with Jack in tow.

"Ah, hello Christie," Alan responded, shaking her hand and deciding to not give his name unless pushed. 'Then I'll just make something up,' he thought as he walked past his dad's office. He looked inside for a brief moment before facing forward again. 'Where are you? Where would you hide? You wouldn't go down without a fight,' he thought to himself. "So," he started, "Who are you looking for? People in the army that got lost? Officials that are lost?"

"Wait, you guys wanted me to try and find where it came from?" Adries asked, quickly composing herself when they came, "I...didn't search. I just came straight here."

"I am not at liability to reveal that. I don't know about you, but I'm quite okay with calling you Mouse Boy, unless you have another name that i can call you? " Christie said firmly changing the subject.
I've already been in that office, the rat burned everything before he left. He isn't making this easy for me. She irritably thought passing Bixler's office.

"Well, I'm sure it was nothing. Hayley said she didn't find anything and she was heading back. The only person who is missing is Alan and i don't think he's in any danger." Lisa reassured Adries.

"I quite like mouse boy," he told her with a laugh, trying to think up of a name. He reached into his pocket and found his lighter. 'Oh, thank you lighter,' he thought. "My name is Jesse, Jesse Custer," he said with a smile, desperately hoping she did not read comics. They rounded a corner and passed the locker rooms.

"Alan doesn't scream like a girl. Well, maybe back when he was a boy. Actually, I don't know what Alan's screams sound like. He never was scared at all those scary movies," Adries said, "Should we start searching again? Where haven't we checked?"

"Okay, Jesse. So how far away would you estimate us from the rest of the group? Also, Have you seen anything that i need to alert my superiors with? Extravagant mutations? Those are one of the top priorities at the moment. " She asked, taking a puff from her cigarette and giving a gesture to the pack in her top jacket pocket in her way of asking if he wanted one.

"We can, if you want to. Which direction did Alan go off in? We'll start there." Lisa said to Adries, still trying to reassure her.

Alan shook his head and declined the cigarette. "I haven't seen anything yet, but if you want you can ask the rest of the group," he says, walking down the stairs and waving at everyone in the main hall.

"Oh god! I was so worried about you Al-" Adries started, immediately being cut off by Alan. "Ah so great to see that you're okay TULIP. You had your brother JESSE worried there!" he said, running up towards her and giving her a hug. "We have problems," he muttered in her ear, letting go and pointing towards Christie, "This is Christie. I, well, she found me while we were running around."

"Evening ladies and gentlemen, I'm here to ask a few questions. You two are siblings?" Christie asked the two, catching Lisa's eye while she walked towards them.

I can't believe this...Did Christie kill these people? Lisa thought quickly, her heart starting to race a little as she watched her sister.

"Uh, yeah. Brother and sister. Best friends, all that jazz," Adries replied, hugging her brother. "So," Alan started to say, "Christie wanted to ask you guys something."

He turned to his sister and told her how he hasn't found dad, and that his office was burned. "That's dad for ya," Adries replied back, making sure no one could hear them.

"Alright, now part of my duties is to report any extraordinary mutations. Has anyone seen anything in particular? Around this area? I'd also like a full report on what you're doing here and what your intentions in this area are?" Christie asked with a serious look on her face, stubbing her cigarette on the floor and rubbing it in with her boots.

Lisa didn't want to answer her or even look at her, she was still debating whether or not to trust her.

"Well," Adries said, still hugging her brother, "We met up with this giant bird monster. We also dealt with this Carnage like monsters in the radio tower, and just recently we fought this big ol' guy wiht hunks of metal on him." She figured that she could say about their encounters, just not go into the details.

"And we're here because..." Alan said, trying to think of something off the top of his head, "We heard this was a safe place. And, obviously it isn't. But, we decided to still check it out in case there was anything we could take. You know, guns and maybe food."

Christie noted down a few of the answers in her notepad then something struck a chord.
"Are you sure? When we last spoke, you said you were heading to the school before here, Considering that you only had a Hummer outside of our home i was sure that you were only taking a few supplies from homes and survivors to your own safeguard. Why would you come Here when you must've already hoarded your fair share of weapons at your base?" Christie asked in a slightly interrogating tone.

Adries just stared at her for a moment, trying to come up with something. Alan then spoke up, "We wanted to see if there was someplace safer. We were attacked at the school by many zombies and that metal monster that Tulip here was talking about."

"Besides, we knew that we couldn't survive a long time with only a small group like this. We decided that we would see if we could join this Farway barricade group and try to get to that hospital you were talking about. We figured safety in numbers. Guess we were wrong."
