"I understand." She replied with concealed uncertainty before putting her notepad back, "Where are you heading now? Considering that unless you want to wait for mutated to get you, you can still wait here."

Lisa didn't understand fully what was going on, was that whole Jesse and Tulip thing some kind of weird brother and sister inside joke? They didn't act anything like that before...Something strange was going on.

"Well. We'll probably stay here since it's all stormy outside. No point in risking our lives by going out, right Tulip?" Alan said, pointing to the windows. Adries nodded. The storm was certainly growing outside; the pitter-patter of the rain being drowned out by the thunder.

"We'll stay here then leave when the storm stops. Then we will head back to school, pack up any supplies then head over to that hospital," he says, trying to not make eye contact. He was never the greatest at covering up his lies. He could come up with the lies, but delivering them was what he couldn't do.

"Lisa's high school right? Sly high? We received intel from source that there was a good deal of survivors there. I'll be staying here too, my communication equipment wasn't working well and i think it's to do with the weather, It's better to stay as idle as possible in these situations. Plus I've hit a situation in my main objective, so it's better think it through before moving on." Christie explained sitting on one of the seats in the main parlor.
"Oh and Lisa, i'd like my notes back. Now."

Lisa was startled by the sudden order but fished out the notes and returned them to her, except the note from their mother which she kept in her pants pocket.
How did she know? Man, it's just like when she used to know that i'd been playing with her dolls.

"Okay then. Well, I think this place is relatively safe, so we should probably just camp out here," Adries said, "And the school has a lot less people now. A lot of the stu- 'survivors' left. The majority. We're pretty much what was left except for another ten students I think."

"So...what should we do to make this more comfortable?" Alan asked, "I think there are some beds in the academy rooms. This place is pretty boarded up already, so we won't have to do much there."

"I see, Strange how quickly situations change, right? Feel free to get some beds, I've been ordered to stay on this as long as humanly possible, so i don't mind keeping watch, if you want some sleep. Not much is going to be happening while the storm is going." Christie said, studying over the notes she just received.

"Is that all of them?" Lisa asked her.
"Yes. This appears to me in order. If you weren't my sister, i'd have been authorized to kill you." She replied with a short smile.
Lisa didn't really have a reply to that.

"Well then. I know where the beds should be. I'll be back," Adries started before adding, "I looked at the map." She and Alan walked past the main desk and when out of earshot she said, "Look, I'll keep looking for dad, and you can get the beds. Makes it less suspicious or anything. Okay?" Alan nodded and they parted ways.

Ivan walked into the group. "All clear. i found nothing but corpses." Looking at Christie, he also said, "Some of them weren't zombies. just regulars." He got his pistol ready, just in case things got ugly.

Without missing a beat, Christie raised her Rifle towards Ivan.
"What are you insinuating? More importantly who are you? And I don't appreciate having guns when there is little danger. Put it away." She ordered.

"Will you just calm down? Over the years you've been away you've turned into a real *****." Lisa mumbled to her.
Christie took a moment to glare at her then returned to staring at him.

"Hey hey hey, I never insinated anything. You were the one who's looking for a double meaning in my words. I simply reported what i found. If you have nothing to hide, you shouldn't be so worried." Ivan then laughed. "Little danger? You're leveling a gun at me. i consider that to be a little more then a little bit of danger. Besides, we could be attacked at any time. I'm just a little claustophobic right now, that's all."

Alan grumbled something as he walked to the academy room. He made sure there were no threats before heading inside. Thankfully all the beds were in place and there were no blood stains on them. 'Time to start moving them,' he thought, picking one up and moving it out the door.

Adries groaned, stepping out of the fifth office she had been in. She decided to try one more. She opened up the door and gasped at the gore that was inside. There was what once was a man with his head blown off, and a shotgun in his lap. 'Shitty way to go,' she thought, about to close the door before she took a look again. There was something that had caught her eyes. 'Those shoes. Those shoes look a lot like,' she thought before gasping and clasping her hand over her mouth.

"Dad."

Christie glared and lowered her rifle.
"See? I've put mine down, Now you do the same. I'm sure I'm not the only one having a tough day, so excuse the distrust. And no, I have nothing to hide that concerns anyone here." She answered quickly, before continuing. "I don't think there's much danger here, considering that i haven't seen one of the infected in this area for a number of hours."

Ivan took his hand off his pistol. "Yeah, that'll happen when a tank fires a shell right into a horde. Anyway, i appreciate the display of trust, but it could've cost you your life." Ivan raised an eyebrow. "Nothing that concerns us? Do you mean nothing you think concerns us, or nothing you know concerns us? Right now, unless it's what kind of band you like, or how your CO likes his shirts pressed. i think we should know. Especially if it concerns zombies in any way."

Alan grunted, carrying the bed. "This shit is heavy. I'd push it, but I know this floor is dirty," he muttered, crashing into a wall. He looked down one of the hallways and saw Adries at the end. "Hey Adries, what's up?" he asked, putting down the bed and walking over to her. He wasn't concerned until he saw her face.

"Hey are you alrig- Oh my god," he said, his jaw agape as he figured out who the body once was. He stood there for a moment, before turning back to hall and throwing up. 'Holy fuck, shit,' he thought, his mind having trouble trying to comprehend it.

Christie considered for a moment and then let out a short laugh. "Alright. I know for a fact that at least 99,9% of what i believe doesn't concern you, actually, believe it or not, doesn't concern you. But I will let you know that some of these infected seem to be growing more extravagant as time passes. This is why we're trying to kill off most of those special cases in the early process. From what i've heard you've been helping us out a little, in most cases they seem to be allergic to tear gas too. There. Now i've shared with the group, the air is clear, and you get off my case. I'm essentially the law here, so consider your actions." She countered.

Lisa yawned, deciding to stay out of this situation. She wondered what was taking Adries and Alan so long...and considered getting up to see what the deal was, but decided to wait a few more minutes for them.

Alan just stared at the floor, trying to figure out what to do. He started to look back at the room, but just the thought maybe him wretch again. 'I just can't do it,' he thought, wiping his mouth. Adries still stood there, tears streaming down her face. She couldn't think of what to do. She doesn't couldn't comprehend that he's gone. Her dad is gone.

'And he took his own life,' she thought.

Jack had gone with Adries and kept his ak on his shoulder as he walked over to Adries and put his hand on her shoulder after seeing the corpse of what he assumed was her father.

"I'm sorry, I truly am. If you want we can wrap you father's body up and bring it back with us for a proper burial."

Adries couldn't even reply. The shock of it all still not hitting her. She brushed his hand off her shoulder. "Can...can you just go?" she muttered, her voice shaky and tears streaming down even more.
Alan took a seat in the hall, his face covered by his hands. He was quickly wiping away the tears as they came.

He stood his ground.

"That's not going to happen. I've seen and felt my share of family loss, and I know the worst thing you can do is be left alone. I'll tell the story later if you want, but right now isn't the time. Right now , what's important is helping you, so have me do what you will but I refuse to leave right now."

"SHUT THE FUCK UP AND GO!" Adries yelled at him, her sadness disappearing into rage. "JUST LEAVE! I CAN BE ALONE IF I WANT! LEAVE ME ALONE!"

Alan looked up when he heard his sister yell, not seeing her this mad in awhile. He also wanted to be left alone, finding it easier to deal with than faking emotion around others. "Shit, I don't want to have to explain this to that Christie girl. She can't know," he said.

Jack kept his tone completely neutral.

"No, no you can't. I tried to deal with the death of my parents by being alone, and I nearly killed myself in mores ways than one as a result. I shut myself off to the world and nearly killed myself on multiple occasions. I live alone right now because of that decision, everything I ever loved dead and gone. I'm not about to let you go down the same path I did."
