((Holy smokes, this thign has advanced fast in the past weekend))

Charles looked around the school, he had decided not to go with the group into the city, he figured with his injury it would be too much of a risk to go. He had relaxed somwhat while at the school, him, the kids and the people who were left had fallen into a rut and were albe to keep their patteren constant.

He was reading another folder of zombie information after he had talked with his sister again on the computer when his hands began to shake again. Reflexivly he took another couple pain pills, because if he didn't he would get massive headaches. Just as his hands were settling down, one of the students came up to him

"Ummm Charles, we have a bit of a situation and we need some help."

Sighing, he stood up and grabed his Spas-12, (he had forgoten to give it to the group) and his carbine and floowed the student downstairs. He was brought over to the window and what he saw outside suprised him.

It was a group of students who had left the school.

"Three of them, three of us involved in the shooting, five of us total in the building, I believe. We were looking for food and water inside a store and we didn't even know they were there. The three of them had a pistol, a shotgun, and a hunting rifle while we had two pistols and a shotgun. The man with the shotgun got the drop on Tulip with the man with the pistol and hunting rifle nearby. I got the drop on their shotgun with my own, and his buddies lost their nerve a bit. What I remember after that is getting hit in the face, Tulip taking a bullet from the man with the pistol, me shooting him, me getting shot in the leg with a round from the hunting rifle, Charles shooting him, and me getting up and killing the man with a shotgun at point blank.

Though as I said, its all really fuzzy. The specifics of who was armed with what and where aren't the clearest memories. Mostly what I remember is the round going into my thigh and me shooting a man in the face with a shotgun at point blank range. In fact, his blood is probably still on my clothes somewhere, just blended in with all the other blood from the zombies over the past few days." Jack said.

Adries awoke a little after Alan had gotten up. She looked around at everyone. 'Three people up, everyone asleep. God what time is it? I shouldn't have taken that nap earlier,' she thought to herself, getting up and looking out one of the windows. The storm was growing, the thunder and lighting constantly clashing. She figured that it was probably 3 in the morning, she wanted to head back to the school; there was nothing here anymore.

((Yeah, sorry about that. :p ))

"That sounds brutal. I see you did a good job dressing the wounds though. Things could've gone a lot worse in that situation-" She turned at the sound of someone moving and saw Tulip sit up slightly.
"Is something wrong, Tulip?" Christie asked.

"Er, wha?" Adries replied, looking up at Christie confused, "I mean. Just looking outside. I just want to leave this place, though. There is nothing here, no reason to stay. I know we can't though due to the storm. Shame, I liked being driven around in the rain before all this."

"The dressing wasn't my work, that was Ivan. When we get back you may see my handiwork on Charles' well...back." Jack said and he looked over when Adries got up.

"Hey Tulip. I share your thoughts, though there is one thing I'd like to bring back with me." Jack said, he then looked over at Christie.

"I figure since you're technically the law in all this, I should ask you. I found an old friend here, or at least, his body. I'd like to take it back with us for a proper burial if that's fine by you. He wasn't infected, he was just one of the poor bastards that caught a bullet in the head from whoever did this, so I see no harm in it."

Christie raised an eyebrow. The man upstairs?
"I see no objections towards it. A proper burial with someone who knew them is a luxury that i can't in right mind stop. if you don't mind me asking, Who was he? I caught sight of him a while ago."

"I'll also add that we can ship out soon after the thunder and lightning stops. The rain won't be much of a problem if we're traveling back to familiar ground."

"Yes. Come on storm, stop so that we can go back to school...never thought I'd say that," Adries said, before realizing what Jack was talking about. "Really, we're going to bring...him back? Bury at school? What about...never mind. I'm going to get some chips." She got up and walked over to the lobby, rummaging through the snack machines to get something.

'Dad should be buried at the home plot. I guess I can always have him moved there once this is over,' she thought to herself, opening up the bag and eating. She was starting to feel down again, 'Crap. Just relax. You've cried enough for the day.'

"You wouldn't know him, not important enough. Sgt. Masters, or George, if you want his first name. Good man, but we lost touch in college. Physics is a rather all consuming science, and his police work didn't leave much time for friends. Two workaholics like us were bound to drift apart at some point, but I'm just glad that he didn't become one of them." Jack said calmly.

'Glad I thought of this all beforehand.' he saw Adries leave.

"I think its time I got something to eat." Jack said as he walked out of the room. Once he was out he jogged up to Adries.

"Sorry I didn't say anything, your brother has his badge and rank insignia. I suggested he bury the one of the insignia at the family plot once this is over, and to give the second one to you. You'll have to work out the details with him, but I figure the family of anyone in the group deserves nothing less than a proper burial. I'll stop meddling once he is buried, but know you my metaphorical door is open if you need anything, even if its only someone to punch in the face and scream at. Lord knows I deserve it." Jack then went off the grab a bag of chips.

So did she know him? She seemed to get a little upset. It's a somehow relieving feeling when you find that someone didn't die from the injected. In the term that they're really at peace. But that's what she dismissed, him being buried at the school...Maybe I'm honestly becoming far too suspicious...
It wouldn't hurt to scan his fingerprints in the data base, at least then we can confirm that he's deceased for further notice when we need to designate whomever was lost in this.
Christie thought lying back where she sat for a few moments. She considered the Idea of food but was put off at the thought.

"I'm really tempted to do the punching, but that would alert Christie or something. It's alright though. I'll talk to Alan about moving the body back to the family plot once this is all over," she told him, putting a chip in her mouth and eating it.

"You know, I have a bad feeling that something is going to happen," she said, starting to walk back to the main hall, "Maybe not here but somewhere. Weird feeling, probably nothing. But if something bad is going down consider me psychic."

"Well if you want to punch me there's always the here and now. Christie isn't with us at the moment, so stay away from the face and she won't know the difference." Jack said.

"Though on your bad feeling, there is something to be said for a woman's intuition."

"Aww, but the face it the best part to punch," Adries said with a smile, "I'll take a rain-check on the punching you along with that IOU you gave me. My intuition is pretty good, so expect problems either here, on the road, or back to school."

She decided to keep watch with everyone, not being able to fall asleep. She opened up a soda bottle she had and drank.

"Oh no, you can keep the punching but the IOU has been paid in full with the lying. I'll give you the punches, but the secrets mean we are even on the IOU front. Its a trade really, I don't owe you in exchange for not asking questions. Though I still trust you and your brother to tell us important things when the time comes up. Don't think I won't dig either, I'm just not going to ask you anything." Jack said

"The things i'd do for a cup of Coffee..." She muttered, when she realized her eyes were drooping slightly, she must've been awake for nearly 2 days. Christie sat up more in order to avoid getting too comfortable. She pulled out the phone she had just been using and sent a message to the head of squad 3 who was designated to downtown to gather reports from all other squads on how the situation was during the storm and report back to her ASAP.

Adries stared at him for a moment before punching him in the sternum with all her strength. "Ow," she said, reeling back and rubbing her hand, "Crap, that hurt. I hope it hurt you more than me though. You just keep trying to find things out, you won't get there. If you do, then you won't like it and wish you'd listen to me."

Jack backed up a bit and coughed a few times before replying.

"Yea that didn't feel great, I'll admit. I don't care about what happened, I care about where your aunt's notes are right now and how I can get them out to the world. Besides, I've never been to good at listening to warnings, and my intellectual curiosity won't keep me away from a good mystery. So tell me I'll regret it, maybe I will, but in the end I'm doing this not for you, me, or any of us, but for the world and future generations. So if I don't like what I find out, I'll destroy any of your family's culpability from the record and release it anyway. I'll deal with the truth on my own time, but there are things far greater than any of us on the line right now. Even if the truth drives me to kill myself, it will have been worth it for the greater good." Jack said as he coughed between sentences.

"Argh, see! There is just one big thing that your missing but I can't tell you or else I'd be fucked," Adries said, getting annoyed again and throwing her hands around in many gestures, "I. God I'm going outside. I can't stay here." She walked past everyone sleeping, picked up her axe and jacket and walked outside. She closed the door behind her and stayed under awning.

She looked up from her keypad to see Tulip grab her jacket and something else then leave. Frank was still in the area with the snack machines.
"What happened?" She called out to him, standing now.

Jack walked back towards the room where they had all been sleeping. He didn't honestly know who to trust at the moment. He figured it would be better if he didn't focus on it at the moment though. He walked back into the room rubbing the spot on his chest where Adries had punched him.

"Hey, I'm back. Oh, I just said something stupid. Unfortunately its quite a common trait in my family, that and a mind that never quits. Even when it would be better if it did every once in a while." Jack said to Christie as he sat down where he had before.
