"Seems like it. Think she will fix him up alright?" Christie responded, standing near the doorway, while he entered. She looked around the room slightly. Mrs. Westin made her think of her own mother for a few moments, she shook the idea, returning to thoughts that were at hand, remembering her own philosophy on the past.
"She really seems to know what she's doing. Military experience beforehand?"

((Nght.))

((Sorry I didn't post for the last hour, but when Dexter is on nothing will distract me. :p ))

"He'll be fine with Dr. Westin looking him over," Jacobs replied, entering her office and looking at a plate of cookies.
"Delicious," he said as he took two, handing one to Christie, "I think she does have experience as a field medic. I'm not sure though. You'd have to ask her or Harold. Or General Kaufman I guess."

((Oh god, re-reading the whole roleplay is so much fun! It's hilarious how it went from that (page 1) to this (page 66).))

((I can imagine, I mean this started off so simple when I first joined, but things have definitely gotten so elaborate now. XD))

"It's not a big deal, Just wondered." She explained taking the cookie. Christie's stomach growled a little before she ate it quickly.
"Mm. Thank you by the way. So now that your mission is over for the time being, do you just wait here until you are given a new mission?" She said dusting her hands lightly, still leaning against the door frame.

Lisa was half asleep when she awoke suddenly from a frightening thought. She'd only rested her eyes for what felt like a few moments. She was resting her head on her knees when she lifted her head to speak.
"Hey, I got a thought. When we get there, How are we going to get in? What if they turn away civilians?"

((It's quite an interesting read. Seeing how all the characters began (mine on page 1, Jack on page 8, Lisa on page...13 I believe?) and when the actual plot starts (page 30). I still didn't finish all of it. I'll probably do that now.))

"Yes, that's what's going to happen. I'll help along with whatever needs to be done. I usually come here and help Dr. Westin, or I get gun cleaning duty. Or parameter patrol," Jacobs replied, taking another cookie before heading back out of the clinic. "Oh, you'll want to know where you'll be staying. I'll take you to the bunkers."

"They might," Adries replied, actually thinking about it.
"Well, they'll know who Adries and I are...so, maybe Lisa and that big guy," "Ivan" "Could try to see if they can get in their. Then Adries and I will keep watch. If something bad happens we'll probably run away...but we might also try to help you guys. I dunno," Albert said, checking the GPS and the road signs.

((I just kinda stopped paying much attention after we fought a giant vine spreading blob that happened to be Adries' nephew.))

((If by better you mean batshit insane then yes. Much better))

Jack was close enough to see the military base without being seen himself. The base was still functioning and it apparently served as at least a staging point. He pulled the cruiser up to the gate and flashed a badge and a fake ID he had made after getting back from the lab. The guard waved him through and he was directed into a parking space on the base before getting out of the vehicle. The man who directed him to that space took him to a large building where many other people were being screened for the virus. The line led from one end of the large hangar and wound around to the other, with guards posted at the screener to lead anyone away who had been infected. Instructions played over the PA continuously giving instructions and updates on the state of things outside the quarantine zone. Jack passed through the screening and was lead with a large group to a different bunker for the uninfected that seemed to be a makeshift orientation hall.

Jack took a seat in the middle of everyone so as not to be recognized before someone stepped onto the stage.

Kaufman muttered something about his collar to tight as he prepared to give a small speech to the people in the hall.
"I wish they would all come at once so I wouldn't have to do this over again every few hours. It cuts down on my time to do other things," he said to his secretary. He flattened down his jacket, saying he was ready before heading out onto the stage.

"Good evening everyone. I am General Maxwell Kaufman of the United States Army. I, along with everyone already here, welcome you into this small community. Our goals are simple; survive. Survive until the infected are completely wiped out. This is a very time and resource consuming project, but with the help of every it can be completed!

We have provided a safe environment for everyone to live here and we are ever-expanding the grounds. We have enough food and water for everyone, so you won't have to worry about that. If anyone here has any special skills at all please report to Captain Conroy over at the end of the hall; wave Captain. Thank you. Even if you feel you do not have any special skills you can still be of use. Manual labor is always needed; cleaning, moving, and other things. We are also willing to take in those who feel the new urge to be apart of the military.

Thank you all for coming here and I hope that you have a wonderful day. Any questions can be answered by the men in the back. Thanks once again."

Jack immediately moved towards this Captain Conroy. He got straight to the point.

"Name is Lieutenant Jack Fletcher. Once our station was overrun I had been surviving on my own and have weapons training, hand to hand combat, and a working knowledge of tactics. When I have been embedded in other groups I was the defacto leader and have never lost a person under me. I also currently have information that is unfortunately classified as ordered by my superior before our station was overrun. I was told to talk to no one below the overall commander of this operation, and I would appreciate being able to complete said mission before aiding you in your own."

Conroy looked surprised at Jack, having a mix of disbelief and curiosity.
"Alright then. Quite a nice little resume you've got there. Heh, well I'm sorry that you won't be able to complete your mission yet. We'd have to verify you first. That might take the rest of the day, quite time consuming actually. Everyone trying to be someone else, catch my drift? Hell, a few days ago someone came in pretending to be the President! Hah, some people. Anything else you can do in the meantime? You don't have to but it would be much appreciated," he asked, looking at his notebook, writing down Jack's name and position before asking, "Which station were you at?"

((Oh god, I've been watching way too much Venture Bros. Whenever Conroy talks all I can picture is Sergeant Hatred. >_< ))

Jack was glad he had falsified that record for himself when he made that ID or this would have been a *****. He knew he would check out as he had chosen a police station that he knew to be abandoned and desolate so only the record could speak for him. The last official communication was zombies overrunning it and them needing backup before losing all contact. It was a wonder what the police recorded for later. His record would state that he had joined in the late '90's from the local academy and had joined SWAT in '05. He had risen through the ranks to Lieutenant due to his high test scores and ability to lead. It was elaborate, but relatively simple to produce and maintain. It would fool anyone who wasn't there to watch him do it, or knew him already.

"I worked at the station on 5th street. I used to be one of the swat boys but they had recently put me behind a desk with the usual 'your talents would be better served' bs. I have no problem working somewhere else but I know the information is obviously pertinent. So I would like to pass it off at some point in the future. I understand your concerns though, so place me where you can. My time behind the desk has made me fairly handy at paperwork, and I can always help to train the new blood in the ways of the gun. Personally, I prefer option two than option one if you can pull it off."

Conroy nodded, writing what Jack had told him and handed the piece of paper to one of his men.
"We'll send someone over for some shooting practice in a bit, once everything dies down over here. Until then if you follow that line over there you will be led to your room. They're small, but the families get the bigger ones. Alright Mr. Fletcher, here is your name tag and there should be the essentials, like bedding and a toothbrush, in your room. Have a nice day," he said, pointing Jack into the right direction before being talked to by the next person in line.

Jack saluted to the man before leaving.

"Thank you sir." He said as he walked off.

The room was about the size as Jack's old apartment. He immediately settled in and got to waiting for the information to come back. There was nothing else he could really do right now. Hopefully his current plan would work out as well as he hoped and make sure the military stayed off his back for a good long while.

After an hour of waiting there was a knock on the door.
"Howdy. Name's Dewey. I was sent so that you can help with ta' target practice for the newbies," Corporal Dewey said waving at a few people who walked past when the door was opened, "Jack right?"

Jack stood up, noticing the man's rank insignia.

"Yes corporal, that would be me, Lead on." Jack said as he followed Dewey out.

Dewey nodded as they left the bunker. They walked past the clinic, Dewey stopping to say hello to Westin before continuing to the armory.
"Well, we're going to work on just pistols today. Ya' know? Get them started on something simple," he said to Jack, walking through the armory to the end, where there was a a small group of people, all in simple uniforms. They all had a pistol and were waiting for instructions.
"Here they are. Minds for molding," he said cheerfully, handing Jack a pistol.

"I'll see what I can do corporal. Do they know basic gun safety or do I need to start from the beginning?" Jack asked.

"Well now let's see," Dewey said, picking up a clipboard and reading it. "Only two of 'em have no knowledge whatsoever. Everyone else knows ta' basics. I'll teach the two who don't know and you can work on these 'uns." He called two siblings over and brought them over to a table so he could tell them the basics.

Christie nodded and followed him to the living quarters. It was small but seemed fine. If she wasn't needed, she'd rest up here or find something to do. Probably the latter, considering how restless she had been. Christie took note of what seemed to be some civilians around the base too.
"So, civilians live and operate here too?" She asked noticing a small family enter their own quarters.

Lisa bit down on her nail and sat up a little.
"I don't mind trying to go in. It's better to make sure that you both stay safe, Ivan and I will be seen a civilians. If they aren't taking them, we can always lie. I don't know about what exactly but we'll get in one way or another."

"Ah yes. Civilians usually come here and we help them out. Give them food and a safe place to stay, and in return they help around with some of the other tasks around," Jacobs said, giving her a tour of the area, "We let them in through the gate then take them to an area where they can be checked for infection. After that they are taken to the Main Hall where the General usually gives a speech every few hours. Then they're moved to where they'll be staying."

"They'll probably take civilians. They'll need people like that," Albert replied as he noticed the tracker had stopped, "Only another twenty miles or so."
