You say, "It was a vocal minority" proving my point, then say someone making it out as if the whole country was out to lynch him isn't being revisionist?
Jesus Christ dude. Stop being offended at everything, especially when I'm semi-agreeing with you.
Also, show me EXACTLY where anyone on this thread was talking about lynching? Because, you've got your own thing going on, and pretending we're thinking that way. How about you stop putting word in our mouths and listen to what we say? No one brought up lynching or the KKK, except you.
Because I remember that election, I remember a HUGE surge of positivity for Obama. EVERYONE seemed to be excited for his presidency and the marketing was gigantic and after he got elected he was all over the place. Does this look like the kind of thing you'd expect to see from a nation that was on fire because of the white man combo-breaker?
Yes, because people liking Obama means that no one disliked him. Is that the logic we are going with here? Yes, a whole bunch of people were positive. Also, at the same time, there was a whole bunch of people being negative. Pretending that EVERYONE was excited for his presidency is a factual lie. Please stop making things up.
????????? Yeah, because me getting pissed that people won't hold Obama responsible for his crap presidency by playing the race card all the time has anything to do with me feeling attacked? What a bizarre take.
This is for everyone here. How many times has people defend Obama by pulling out the race card? I'm actually really interested because I've had nonce, but I know there are idiots on Twitter and I don't touch the stuff myself.
As to me, I would have a very tough time voting Biden because of what he and Obama did together. Also, they are still way better than Trump. Notice how I did use a race card there, because I actually don't know if you think that I am. US politics is like choosing between a shit sandwich and a turdburger with a leaf of lettuce for about 4 decades now. All of them are mass murderers. You gotta pick the one you think will kill the least.
"Obama was vilified for daring to be president despite being black. Can you imagine how people would react when America gets a president that's both black AND a woman? "
Does this sound like the phrase of someone saying, "Yeah this racist minority were a bunch of jerks"? No, this is the phrase of someone saying the country was up in arms over a black man daring to be elected president.
There would definitely be people up in arms over his and her colour and gender. But that's not the issue. Hades used the term 'people' and you think that means you. Not everything is about you. Hades is not attacking you personally. And they are very right, some people would be up in arms. They could have worded that sentence so it was more specific, instead of a generalised 'people', I'll definitely grant that. But not everyone is out to get you man. I don't want to speak for Hades, but I'd doubt they think you are that sort of person. Pretending people are attacking you only gets you worked up.
So let's take a minor example of this up in arms thing. Obama was questioned on where he was born.. because racists are idiots and cannot imagine that back person can reach the white house. They have to pretend that NO ONE, including the DNC and GOP, thought to check his birth certificate before he entered the race which... I don't know whether you've seen the debates. They tend to pick up on negative things very quickly. I cannot imagine his political opponent, the GOP, letting that slide because that would be an automatic win for them. But, talking sense to racist is not very productive. They wouldn't believe me if I explained it in the most eloquent fashion
