I enjoyed both ME's but I have to admit I had the same problem with Dragon Age. I did (eventually) bet it but the game felt more like a chore than fun, especially Orzimar. No game should be a chore-you're playing for fun. If you don't enjoy it, leave it come back in a few days-if still ahting...

It depends on the game-Tony Hawks 2 had a great soundtrack but eventually it just grated hearing the same thing over and over-on with the Sabbath. But for truly epic soundtracks or stories (ME, Gears of War etc) It's best to let the audio guys work shine.
