Mario Galaxy 2, Bulletstorm and Goldeneye were all good timefillers - if you use the GC controller for Goldeneye it plays a lot like 007: NightFire. Mario Galaxy 2 was a fun romp but nothing different from MG1. Bulletstorm is quite good, and for me was pretty Hilarious throughout.

mmmmm i dunno. I don't usually hear car manufacturers complaining that used car sales are putting them out of work, but that's an entirely different situation. There's no question about the legality of it (it's definitely currently Legal to sell on something you have bought) - unless game sales...
I did my honors dissertation on something similar - a theatre audience can "enjoy" a show, but they can also "appreciate" it. enjoyment (fun) implies a positive reaction - however, a negative or neautral reaction can sometimes be more powerful (entertainment/appreciation)
I can't really say I...
I agree - a lot of good games are linear, and there are a lot of bad games which are sandbox. Some games do like to even out the linearity though. There's a really interesting thought about that in this article - http://www.nowgamer.com/features/1349/the-making-of-goldeneye - which says that...
Most recently - Brink. I loved it for the first day, really amazing, but It's gotten rather old rather quickly, and I can't see why - I guess all the weapons seem the same to me, and on the X-box everything's a bit murky. Regret purchasing it - need some other thing to fill my TF2 void before my...
Seymour. SEYMOUR. Not becuase he was a rubbish villian anyways, but because of that FREAKIN' fight on the mountaintop. That fight made me stop playing FFX.
EDIT: also, Necron - mainly because he was absent (not even mentioned) for 99% of the game. . .
and
yeah I still think he's a...
Apologies, I didn't mean to be offensive - I was using "mentally challenged" and "brain damage" as an attempt at humor - exaggerations of a small problem. The effect of frequent adrenaline release on a developing brain is likely to cause variations in development, but not extreme deformities and...
floppy disks! games come in a one-tonne crate of accumulated floppies, which you then plug in :)
more seriously, I think there's likely to be a shift towards downloadable and streamed gaming - if they went this way it would likely come with a very large hard drive (or have a rather expensive...
that makes a lot of sense - maybe it's similar to the reason I no longer feel a compulsion to go play on swings. . . *glances nervously at the swings*. . . The desire is there, but I have a better handle on it. . .
and yarr, I'd probably focus on individual games a lot more if my flatmate and...
I've been thinking a lot about the quality of games being released lately compared to the past, and it got me thinking about something rather interesting.
I remember playing shorter, less visually involving games in my youth than today. I would be able to play the same game over and over and...
i am most definitely procrastinating right now. meant to be writing a questionnaire for my fourth year thesis. which needs to be done by tomorrow or my fourth year thesis will not have any data and i'll lose nearly half my fourth year's credits.
ho hum. *trawls forums*
