Pokemon Red and Blue are at the top of my nostalgia list. Pokemon Blue was not only the first game that I had played, but it was one of the best games I have ever played. I will compare it to the newer versions, good and bad.

I've gone through Borderlands 10+ times with different characters and customizations. It's a great game, has great co-op, and lasts a good amount of time if you finish all the missions (Did it almost 100% of the time before play through 2).

It's hard for me to call, but it is a tie between Pokemon Blue (it was the game that made me a gamer) or Halo (it made me enjoy the first person shooter and was the first FPS I played). I went back to the games a little while back and still enjoyed both.

For me it's got to be collectables and unlockables (costumes, weapons, even artwork and such). Good, or at least fun gameplay is a given to keep us playing as well. Multiplayer is definitely a huge part, and pretty much the only replay value in most major games today.
