He has already been banned from nursery over fears his size might be a danger to other children, and usually plays alone at home.

Let's not mince words here, they're afraid he's going to eat the other children. Frankly, I can't blame them...

Ok, serious tiem nao: Childhood obesity is no laughing matter. He might even die before he turns ten, and he'll have long lasting health problems even if he loses weight. He's virtually guaranteed to develop diabetes, he'll have a heart attack eventually, and he should just emigrate to the US where people like him are the norm. A strangely funny yet tragic norm....

Seriously though, if they could let him get this fat in three years, they aren't fit to look after him. The government should take him away and try out some serious weight loss programs on him.

All people are idiots. Everyone makes stupid decisions, whether its political, irrational reactions or whatever. Nearly always these decisions impact on others. Parading this child around like a freak show does nothing to solve his, nor any problem. Justify it to yourself however you want, but being judgemental over peoples differences and freedom is an arseholish thing to do.

For the record, I do see a problem with a child being so large. I see a problem with a lot of what people do. I'm not about to join the mooing masses just to point out the obvious flaws in something, especially something that impacts far fewer people than other bigger problems in the world. I don't know why he's that fat, and I don't know what the parents are like or do. In fact I know fuck all about the situation apart from there's a fat baby, that's being used on this site as entertainment. I find that more distasteful than how the child got in such a state in the first place.
