And this is why I support teen driving: kids can be pretty good drivers (he was pretty good for someone with no road training) and it helps them avoid church.

*gives kid a high-five in spirit*

Automatics. Probably much easier to operate.
Still...Kudos to the kid. Good to see him asserting his religious beliefs at such a young age. In Utah. Kid's screwed.

He hates church enough to steal his dad's car aye? Well, I know the feeling. And only 7 years old? It is time to give up on converting that one to Christianity. He is lost to to the flock. ROFL.
I <3 how you compared Christians to a flock of birds. Considering how much more intelligent humans are than birds. :D
Actually I like to think of them as sheep. BBAAAHHHHHHHHH. But birds work just as well I suppose.

She says GTA. I want to slap her. I honestly screamed out obscenities when she said that.
AUTO is in the title..he stole the car. Hmm. Not hard to put the game and the act together....
You do the same thing in the godfather, maybe that's why it's linked with the church.
Learnt to drive from games? If so people who say games aren't educational need to read this.

At first, I was like "Sweet driving kid."

But then I heard the lady jump to GTA, not NASCAR or Need For Speed or Burnout, but GTA... I wanted to jump through my monitor and pull her fake face off...

WTF, he should respect his parents enough to do what they want,
His parents should respect him enough not to take him somewhere he clearly despises.

My only recommendation would be next time, don't drive away, drive it through the church, barrel it straight through the door and yell "This is how I'm arriving every Sunday. Still want me here you cultist fanatics?"

He is only 7 and could claim that the boredom of church drove him insane thus providing the insanity defense! YAH!

What did we learn today? Driving simulators are pretty damned good at, duh, simulating driving. And FOX News is still stupid. GTA, what the hell?

And what did the parents learn today? Don't force religion on your children, thank you very much.

Guessing it's an automatic?

I'm just surprised he see over the dashboard and reach the pedals at the same time.
Videogames are the good guys in this case - Since he obviously didn't learn how to start the car or use the pedals/wheel/gearstick from a gamepad, it could only have been the safe driving skills which he used to stay alive!

It's better than what I did in church. I used to get some of the other kids my age and play poker or blackjack. My mum never drove to church =( Nor did she ever take the hint I wasn't interested.

Otherwise, good on the kid. He probably drives better than me and I get my leaner's next week hopefully.

Well, aren't you a nice fellow.

I'm totally not offended by anything you just said.

The kid might not have wanted to go to church, but you would think somewhere between "I really don't want to be here" and "steal my parent's car" there would be some middle ground. I say this is a parenting problem that the kid thought Grand Theft Auto (here I refer to the law, not the game) was an acceptable answer to being told to be somewhere he didn't want to.

It was unimaginably stupid for him to have done that. He could have very easily been hurt or killed.
