I remember the exact words and gestures of my teacher explaining that you can't name people just anything.

With that being said, my nephew is named after a figure in norse mythology. edit: (Or whatever you should call it. I prefer "asatro" but that's a swedish word.)
I think it's just cool though.

HOLY CRAP!!

This post make me laugh my ass off. It made me think of this girl from back when I was in school. Whenever she talked she was completely monotone, and my friends and I called her Megatron. She never got the reference.

No, I'm not kidding, either.
I've done worse than that. =p
*gasp* You're Swedish!? So am I!

I love strange names, a persons is a unique being and therefore should have a relatively unique name. But Megatron for a girl? I could understand a boy being called that but a girl? It's still full of win though.

My children will be called: Amerthyst (girl) & Igneous (boy)

One of my friend's has two middle names: Aragorn and Morgoth. His parents like LotR to say the least. And my personal favorite is my cousin, Max Dangerfield. Shame he's a **** really, but its an awesome name.

"Steak And Shake"? What IS that? A restaurant where they blend steak and give it to you in a mug?
The steaks and shakes are separate. Never eaten there, but the combination sounds quite savory...
Its a fast food chain in America. And the food is ok.

I remember a girl in my 8th grade class whose last name was Cuntz. It was funny. It got her so many years of unnecessary name calling.

Ya know, she might've done it to be funny. In my teen years I worked at a fast food place as a Taco Makist and we were allowed to make our own name badges as long as they didn't have curse words on them. I made a new name every couple weeks. I've been "Olaf" "Moonbeam" and "Hector Jorg" (it was supposed to be jorge but it wouldn't fit) and 'Radge'.

I think I heard a Lewis Black piece on weird names where he encountered a kid named 'Shithead' (spelled horribly but pronounced with the 'th' sound), and another named 'Abcde'.

I would be amazed to hear the parents of the second one justify naming their kid the first five letters of the alphabet.
