"And then did Gyai stretch out her bones to create the skies mountains and all manner of horrible nasty creatures to rend us limb from limb. Gyai provides. We suffer." Vik'nar made sure to only mutter his curse under his breath, his views on 'the great mother' might not be well received.

Well maybe not by that scary oaf in black, now that's a face not even a 'mother' would love. Chuckling at his internal wordplay.

He continued to follow the others.

Hey guys, I've noticed that when I go to sleep (approx. last post) you guys do lots of posting. This is probably due to you being on the other side of the world. I'm not sure I can be a part of this adventure with timing like this, having posted about 5 times in 6 pages. So I'm afraid that I must leave, for other, more timely adventures. I've had great fun playing with you guys, and I hope you continue on to greater quests. Feel free to keep, kill or retcon Dworgen.

Ra'ive entered the cave after Skaar, he had put his claws on before hand so that he could be prepared for any surprises that could be awaiting them. However once inside he saw that there were no gaggle of foul demons, no horrible surpirse, just a oddly cosy nook which he took to be Skaar's home.

However even though his leg was killing him, even though he was exhausted from the days events he would refuse to sleep. More for his own pride then any other reason.

'That doesn't mean you cant relax' said a voice from dark corners of his mind. It was true there was nothing stopping him from 'relaxing'.

'Ah what could go wrong' he thought as he pulled out his 'bag of rocks' and bowl. He poured a small amount into the bowl and held it over the fire, paitiently waiting for the small fire to heat up the bowl and subsequently turn the rock into the vapour he craved.

Ellondra's boot knocked the bowl right out of Ra'ive's hand. The distance it flew back out of the mouth of the cave into the snow would've made an athlete blush.

"Are you mad?!" she hissed, voice low and critical, "A moment ago you would have nothing to do with It... Now you're resting up at Its hearth. This is unbelieveable. We have work to be doing."

The Sergeant folded her arms and paced the entrance restlessly. For all her protest, she wouldn't go to battle a Gryphon Mother alone... So she had to wait, at least for these few to decide whether they'd like to complete their duties or have a bloody cup of tea.

Aer'rad laid by the fire stripping his equipment. He unhooked his quiver and poured his arrows on the cold cave floor. He examined his bows and counted out 99 left. He grabbed each individual arrow and started to clean them and sharpening the head.

"About how long do you think it will be before we move out again?" Aer'rad inquired as he moved bow to bow.

"What do you think you are doing!" Ra'ive yelled as he watched the bowl come to rest outside in the snow.

He was beside himself and was about to slide his hands into their claws when he saw the bowl still had steam rising from it. He bolted outside, snatched the bowl from the gound and knelt in the snow bowl close to his face breathing in the fumes deeply.

He avoided everyone elses gaze as he walked back into the cave and up to Ellondra.

"If you ever. Ever do that again, I promise you that you will not live long enough to learn from your mistake" he hissed at her ,his words barley audible as pointed his finger un-steadily in her face and glared into her eyes. He took his finger away and returned to the side of the fire, where he took out his claws, began taking them apart and tinkering with them.

His leg throbbed but the pain it caused him was nothing compared to ache caused by the further injury his ego had just been dealt.

Skaar returned from the tunnel, his breastplate and pauldrons removed, upper body covered only by the ragged shroud he had worn before, which clung loosely to his brutally-scarred torso. Beneath the rags, a spiked, flowing tatoo was embossed upon his skin; a pentagram-shaped edifice which writhed and flowed beneath his skin, as thought it were alive. His hood, however, remained in place, as did his skullhelm, keeping the face of the Death Knight hidden from view.
Hunkering down by the fire pit, he waited a few moments before adressing the group"You cannot continue this night. If you still seek the Gryphon and her brood, you'll have to wait till morning to resume your hunt"

"You are a liability--!"

The knight in black returned from wherever it was he'd gone, and Ellondra felt the rest of her lecture die in her throat. It was interesting, the thing's--because she'd yet to learn to see him as a man--appearance. If It was dead, she might like to take a closer look. Instead she remained ankle-deep in snow.

She'd die an icicle before she wasted the night here with brigands.

Skaar looked up from the firepit, the light of the flames reflected eerily in the black sockets of his skullhelm. "Get inside. You'll die if you stay outside..." He could feel the womens emotions; mild curiosity, but above that an overwhelming sense of loathing and disgust.. directed not at him, but at her companions. Interesting. Catching a whiff of the narcotics, he muttered "Toss that filth in the fire, or i'll toss you outside."

"I take it you don't see much Black Rock up here big guy, although they mine it not far from here. I wouldn't recommend tossing it in the fire for it's the heat of an open flame that activates it. You'll have this whole place filled with that smoke."

Vik'nar had been leaning up against the cave wall close to the entrance, still quite unsure of the situation. His relative position might give the astute observer some hints to his current thoughts. He still didn't know what to make of their new acquaintance, and while Ellondra didn't seem to much care for him at least he could read and rely on her motives of duty and honor.

Weather permitting, she would have stayed outside in the snow the entire night just to spite It. But she was beginning to lose feeling in her fingers, the silk around her cut was not absorbing the blood as she'd hoped, and something beastly outside howled and gave her a start--

Ellondra jumped slightly and pretended she hadn't as she cleared her throat and came inside.

"Has anyone got bandages? I've a gash." The Sergeant sat with her back to the cave wall and rest her falchion to the fire where the end of the blade could heat. There was no antiseptic; she'd have to cauterize it.

"...How long until we can mobilize?"

Aer'rad had finished cleaning his bows and was on to restringing his bow. The light wood felt perfect in his hands as he made sure that the bow string was tight but not to much.

"I think I have a bandage in my bag," Aer'rad dropped his bow and started to rummage through his bag.

He ended up pulling out a first-aid kit and walked over to Ellondra,"Take whatever you need."

Aer'rad made his way back to the fire and continued on with his maintenance.

Skaar grunted, snatching a long length of tanned fur hide from the pile next to the fire, and tossing it at the women "Rest. All of you. We cannot move on this night..." His voice trailed off as he looked around at those gathered by the fire, before he added "If you require food, or drink, I have a little of both in the larder" He shrugged awkardly; he was unused to having "guests".

Ra'ive sat by the fire, a little way away from Aer'rad and gazed into the flames. He tightened and adjusted his claws, they had become a little loose after opening that Ogres jugular or getting but now they were taught and ready.

"You, do you have a name?" he asked as he turned to their fiendish host, being Rocked even a little bit always made him more enquisitive and a little less hostile.

"And do you have anywhere that i can soak off this retched Ogre blood?" he continued whilst gesturing to the copius amounts of blood that had begun to dry on his cloak and mask.

What are we doing with Dworgen now that he is player-less? Did he never exist? Will he get carried off by a Griffin or somthing? Shame he had to leave though. Also in relation to the up-coming features list whats a rune-master?

She didn't touch anything out of Aer'rad's kit but the roll of bandage; Ellondra sealed the wound on her arm with the hot steel of the flat of her weapon and wrapped it thoroughly. While the ointments in the box looked appealing, she wasn't one to put chemicals on her skin if she didn't know where they'd come from. She flexed her arm experimentally, winced, and decided that was good enough for now.

The Dwarf looked sickly. She'd not witnessed him in battle, but he may have gotten wounded. Or perhaps they weren't as stalwart versus the cold as she would expect. She sheathed her weapon when it cooled, finally, and left her spot by the fire to drape the animal hide over Dworgen's prone frame.

Ellondra returned to sitting beside the fire with her knees to her chest, chin resting on top of them, and gnawed on a strip of leathery dried fruit wishing that it was the sponge cake Vik'nar had spoke of this afternoon.

Determined not to possibly die on a stomach of tooth chipping hard travel rations and not quite adventurous enough to try the larder, Vik'nar sets about the cave to find a nice flat stone, which he places next to the fire to warm.

The hard tack and salted pork go down first with a bit of snow piled on top to soak in and soften them up a bit. Once they had warmed and soaked up all the snow, he combined both pieces and cut off a few slivers of hardened cheese in an attempt to melt it to the top. After almost burning his hand practically thrusting the cheese into the fire to further his culinary effort, Vik'nar shakes his head and sets the slightly smoked and charred small wheel of cheese to the side.

"Damnable stuff why won't it melt? Are we sure this isn't actually some kind of hardened wax and not in fact cheese?"

"If only I had a few vegetables I could try and get a proper stew going for these bread/hard tack troughs. The dwarves prefer to take their stew this way. You see, you carve out a bit of the bread and heap the stew in or in this case a bit of this salted pork."

He offers some to anyone who will partake and leans back to quietly munch on his share. Eh. It's still not great, but at marked improvement of from their previous state.

"We-I-am Skaar" He muttered, his skull-helm tilted downwards to stare into the fire. "Take some snow and scrub it off..." Hearing the complaints of the Sever-Elfen crimeboss/chef, he called out "There are... foodstuffs in the larder. Vedgetebles and such. Help yourself"

The thought of a proper stew is enough to promote him to risk seeing what's in the larder, although still half expecting to find bits of human remains or filled to the brim with only those awful mushrooms that come from Mungen that he hated so much.

He returns with a pot filled with some meager onions, carrots and potatoes.

"Thanks, these will do nicely. It's a wonder you can get anything to grow up here at all."

Everything gets diced and tossed into the pot filled with snow. Soon it's simmering nicely over the fire for anyone to partake and enjoy.
