As the group managed to kill the smaller gryphons, the Mother tries to take off for safety.
Her wing broken and her mind clustered from the poison, she wildly flies into a circle, ending head-first into a large rock standing up from the earth like the end of a spine.

The rock shatters and the Gryphon Mother lies there screeching and throwing punches with her talons.
She tries to use her wing's fluttering motions to crawl away from the group and toward her eggs.

Kill shot!

The sight was nearly heartbreaking... But she would not neglect her duty.

Her right hand went to her back and pulled from her belt the King's silver dagger: Ellondra's falchion caught the weakened blow from the Gryphon Mother's talons and shoved it aside, slipping in close. It swung out at her with the other paw and she deflected it also. With her left weapon holding the beast's arm high, she stabbed swiftly inward with the right, silver piercing into the Gryphon's heart. The Sergeant felt it lurch and thrash and she dropped her sword to hold onto the pommel of the dagger with all her might, bracing herself with her feet against the stone until the beast threatened to crush her beneath it.

As the silver penetrated the Gryphon's heart, the mother instantly vaulted to the side, sending Ellondra rolling away.

The mighty beast fell to it's stomach and finally, the talons stopped kicking and swinging and the light disappeared from it's eyes.

The fog had lifted slightly, enough to make the Town of Swaere visible from the mighty cliffs they were on.

The Gryphon Mother's blood stopped leaking, and instead, all the blood in her body curned and hardened instantly. The heart being filled with silver.

Vik'nar has a fractured left arm and bruises in the face and shoulder area. Also has one remaining throwing knife.

Ellondra's blouse and armor in the lower torso area is ripped up and she's bleeding there, just under her stomach area. Her falcion is sligtly dented.

Skaar's armor is dented in the torso and leg area from the fall. Scratches are also all around the armor from where he rolled.

Rai've has two remaining throwing knives and his sprained knee is worse now.

As the mighty beast fell Ra'ive walked slowly and painfuly forward towards the edge of the cliff and gazed down upon the sweeping landskape that lay sprawled beneath them.

After a few moments of thought he turned to the rest of the group.

"So...We have just killed this creature. Lets get one of those eggs and get off this Gyia-forsaken mountain" he said impatiently. It was true he'd had enough of this mountain to last a lifetime and didnt plan on coming back.

He walked to the corpse of their slain foe, began scavenging throwing knives that he might use again and looking around for anything that might be of value. All he found were four useable throwing knives, two of which he offered to Vik'nar and before he left the body of their foe behind he took a handfull of feathers from its wing.

'You never know, they may be worth somthing some day' he thought to himself as he stepped back from the corpe once more.

Sorry again about not posting much yesterday I just couldnt see where Ra'ive would have fitted in. However yesterday I made a user group for our RP (and credited it to Jav of course), that way we dont have to OoC in the thread and we can also talk about ideas for the RP etc

((Just as a note... plate armor doesn't take damage from something as measly as that fall. In actuality, he'd just have a few scratch's)

Skaar grunted, and nodded grudgingly at the women "Good work." Then, he turned about and headed towards the nest, scooping up a pair of the eggs and placing them into a deep pocket on the side of his shroud. "Where to now?" He asked quietly, folding his arms over his chest and staring down at the others, shroud swaying gently in the breeze.

Ra'ive laughed at Skaars attempt at humor.

"Well WE are going back to civilization to forget about this ordeal. YOU however are staying here, to do whatever it is you do. We'll also be taking those eggs if you dont mind" he said coldly, just becuase he hadn't gutten them in their sleep didn't mean they were pals.

Ellondra gingerly touched the new wound and grimaced. Oh well: to be dealt with later. The Sergeant crushed the remaining eggs under her boot. The mess it left wouldn't last long with the other beasts of the mountains.

"Let's return to the cave to address our injuries. I believe the Scout's bag has an idea of where we ought to go from here. Besides... We should check on Sir Dwarf."

She was kneeling down, emptying out her own bag and putting her belongings in with the Elf's that she'd taken with her when he passed. Stuffing the now empty bag full of straw from the nest and lining it thoroughly with the Mother's down, she made a makeshift incubator.

Ellondra went to Skaar and held out the bag. "Give me the eggs."

"I read that message... while you slept." He murmured, the flickering corpse-light of his eyes boring into the sergeants "You are on a mission for the King, yes? You bear his mark? His seal? You are his... Champions? And you have lost your guide. Without him, you will never leave this mountain. I can see to that. Let me lead you safely down the paths... and aid you in your quest. Not all of us Half-Bounds are daemon-worshipping fiends... all I seek is acceptance. The chance for Redemption. Through this, shall my sins be absolved." He paused for a moment, then reached into the pockets of his shroud, handing the two eggs carefully over to the women.

"Even in exile, I have remained loyal... upholding the laws of the King in this wasteland. Let me come with you, and I shall prove my loyalty tenfold..."

Ugh, feels like someone dropped a mountain on my left side... oh wait. Damned it all. Well I'm not dead.

"We must also come to a decision on where to head to next. The king requested we return an egg to him, but I am of mind that we should try to make the scout's meeting. This may be our only time to discover who else seeks these creatures. That knowledge may prove more valuable in the end."

Vik'nar begins binding his arm to his chest, tightly wrapping it for support so that it could heal properly and to keep the arm secure should more fighting be required. Getting down the mountain safely would be quite difficult with only one arm. "Can I get a hand with tying this off? Oh and I say we let him lead us off this mountain by the easiest path possible."

As the group got together, they journey to the Death Knight's cave.

Upon entering, the day had reached the afternoon, just about 5:30.
The weather had increased some, but it was mainly just some slight snow falling and a harsh wind breeze.

The dwarf, Dworgen lies in his bedroll. His eyes frozen solid as they gaze upon the ceiling, and his chest isn't moving.

The fire in the cave has long died out, and there is a big and purple color on his skin near the chest area.

Other than that, the cave is filled with an 'okay' scent of burnt wood and wet stone.

Ra'ive limped into the cave and saw Dworgens prone form. He walked over too him and attempted to rouse him with a soft kick like Ellondra had done for him.

"Dammit, if that lazy oaf thinks he can get a cut of the reward now then.." he stopped abruptly as it became clear the Dwarf wasn't in a position to request anything or even draw breath for that matter, he was stone dead.

Ra'ive muttered somthing in Elvish and walked painfully back to the mouth of the cave. He stood awkwardly and watched as the snow fell gently around them.

Whoops, I've been at work all day. Let's see what all I can squeeze in here.

Ellondra stowed the eggs in the bag she'd prepared as gingerly as possible, though the expression on her face was quite the opposite of nurturing.

"Was that your goal, then? Leave us directionless, in the hopes of becoming a guiding light?"

She didn't stick around to hear Its response.

------

Ra'ive was the first to discover Dworgen's state. Puzzled by his behavior, she came to investigate herself. She was unsure what she felt to discover the Dwarf had passed... Not sadness, per se, but... Disappointment. A tinge of regret. She murmured a Dwarven blessing, with a respectful hand gesture. After a long silence, she spoke up:

"I do not know his Craft--but there's not the time to build a pyre. And if we dig to bury him, it will be nightfall before we're through. Shall we bring him with us... and have him cremated in Sweare?"

It was on the way back to Herelden, and the Dwarf's small frame would not slow them.

"You would take him with us aswell? Its bad enough you bring the scout! I am all for honoring the dead but in our current state we are already severely disadvanteged with our injuries. What if we are attacked again?" he said as he turned to Ellondra, he sounded utterly exhausted.

The time they had spent on the mountain had worn him down and he just wanted to be rid of it.

"You would rather leave him to be carrion? How... unsurprising."

She folded her arms and set her feet apart, stubbornly holding her ground.

The Death Knight knelt down by the prone dwarf, running a cold, unfeeling gaze over the frozen body. "Hypothermia. He went peacefully, at least; the senses are numbed, so there is no pain. It is rather like falling asleep. A good way to go." He rose, turning to face the others with his hands hanging down by his sides. It was not his place to dictate what they should or should not do; that authority rested with the Sergeant. "I would suggest cremation..."

Vik'nar seemed to be one of the least affected by the death of Dworgen, choosing to stand alufe at the mouth of the cave, awkwardly trying to cross his arms - a task quite impossible with one binded down. Strangely he is also one of the most adamant about returning his remains.

"I'm not familiar with the burial rites of dwarven culture, but we could make arrangements to have his body returned to family in Wurden from Swaere. The scout's remains are already with the horses, so it should not be too much trouble for us to transport him to back to the horses."

Ra'ive waived his hand dismissively. 'Let them make their mistakes but they won't get any help from me when it all goes wrong'

"Fine, do what you will but be quick about it" he muttered just load enough for the others to hear as he turned back towards the snowy scene outside.

Ellondra nodded curtly; she seemed used to getting her way, and things were as they should be in that case. The Dwarf could be wrapped in the hide that she'd given him the night before and, if the horses were where they'd left them, would hardly be a detriment to the journey. So she thought, in any case.

After taking in the others, she determined she ought to carry him herself. With the recently-passed Dworgen over her shoulder [she strained under the weight of the Dwarf, though she hid it well], she paused beside Vik'nar long enough to give a somewhat awkward "Have you set it properly?" and then allowed Skaar to lead them back to where they'd "met".
