The man up front sheathed his sword and commanded his minions to lower their weapons as well.

"What a surprising change of events! You are willingly, giving up your own hard-earned money to spair some weak and foul thing like that?!"

The man looked at his minions and they all laughed heartidly.

"Fine! onehu-"
One of the crossbow men came up to the leader and whispered something.
The two men smiled and nodded.

"Two hundred gold coins, and the boy is free to go"
The men all grinned with their dirty little plan in motion as they watched the elf.

As the Death Knight spoke, the minions showed a frightful face and began whispering between eachother.

EDIT:
Feel free to sort things out; this is player-driven after all. I will update tomorrow regarding the town's look and attires. Feel free to make some up though. Also I will update regarding merchant prices on wares and on whatever you post tonight.
After that, it's basically free-form around Swaere until Sunday.
Have a good night! :D

Landon approached the crowd of 11 people.

"What is going on here? Any trouble?"

He looked over at the five unusual ones, then at the boy cowering on the ground, then the man up front and the other four with him.

Aer'rad dug into his back pocket still keeping an eye on the men and pulled out a small purse.

"Here's 150 coins. Next time don;t try to trick me or I'll have your head."

Aer'rad tossed the bag to the men and they made their way away from the group. He then turned back to the boy.

"O.K. you should be fine now. Though if they ever mess with you again just come find me."

He then turned to the new approaching person,"Not anymore we have everything sorted out."

I've noticed people keep writing Swaere wrong, and it kind of bugs me :(
It's because that's how it's spelled in the OP...

"That is good to hear. For a moment there, I thought a fight would break out."

He looked over the five of them.

"You're an unusual group of people, if you don't mind me saying. Mind if I ask what you are doing?" Landon asked friendly enough.

"Mind if I ask what you're doing?"

Ellondra had quite a bit on the tip of her tongue to say regarding the event that had just taken place: none of it was particularly polite. She was in a foul mood as the ride to Sweare Swaere had consisted of steady, rhythmic jolts to her wound. Her brow quirked.

"Picking up help for the luggage, apparently." She eyed the dirty boy with some suspicion. Thief, was he? Wonderful. And then she looked back to the other rider, "Excuse us. We'll be out of your path shortly."

Do that again, and I'll make you wish the Guards had taken you. Do not make our sacrifice worthless, runt The voice whispered in the boys ear, chilling and hoarse. Skaar gazed down at the urchin, the corpselights of his skullhelm flaring as the voice spoke, before fading into oblivion; any overt show of power here would likely result in his discovery, which would in turn lead to him being burned at the stake. Best not to take chances.

"Oh, you aren't in my path, I can assure you. I just arrived here myself after traveling from Herelden. I was sent here by King Herald to look for a group of people sent on a mission. Might you know where they are?"

Landon hoped they were friendly enough to not attack him. He didn't seem to quite fit in the group, what with his white armor.

Ellondra was instantly attentive, though also on the defensive, "What message have you from the King?"

"I am to follow the group and aid them in battle. Now, I ask again, do you know where this group is?"

Landon suspected they were the group, but he wasn't sure.
He had a soft smile on his face which had been on his face for a little while now.

Ellondra was hesitant to accept... but if it was the will of His Majesty, she would obey. In truth, she was surprised at herself for not being more welcoming of a man of obviously higher moral caliber than her current companions. Perhaps she'd grown accustomed to herding them.

"You're looking at it. What's left of it..." Her hand went to the wrapped bundle behind her, "We've completed our mission, however. Unless you bring a decree, there is naught left but to return to Herelden."

"I see. If you wouldn't mind, I would like to accompany you. I haven't had a chance to communicate with anyone for the last few days and you seem like a trusty bunch."

Landon was relieved to hear he had found the group, but a bit sad he hadn't been quick enough to help with the mission.

No matter. I will accompany them if they want me in the group.

"Ser, do you have a missive or such? The King sent us to the North, it seems... peculiar that you would search for us here." Vik'nar was suspicious at present of the traveler.

Perhaps this man was in league with the scout.

Landon was calm as he said "He didn't give me the specifics on your location, for some reason. So I thought it'd be best to start the search in Swaere. I can understand if I'm not welcome."

Skaar turned his attention from the sniveling wretch to the pious newcomer, his mood turning none for the better as he caught wind of their conversation. Scowling behind the grim facade of his skullhelm, he reached outwards towards the man's mind, trying to snatch a glimpse of the strangers actual motives while he was distracted by the sergeant.

Seeing as I have little way to enter the story that I can think of, I'm gonna start a bar-fight.

Jolly good fun, eh?

[sup]Also, Warees does have a bit of an accent, which shall become apparent in this post.[/sup]

The local inn of Swaere was packed with patrons of all sorts, ranging from dangerous sociopaths to simple alcoholics in search of more ale to drown their sorrows with. The barkeep, an large grinning man by the name of Hados, was happy to have so much business, especially in the middle of the day, but the excitement was starting to make him uneasy. When their was alcohol and excitement, something bad would follow, that was a given; exactly what would happen is another story. For the last ten minutes people had poured in without reason or meaning, today wasn't a holiday, was it?

But for now, the barkeep put his worries aside and continued to pour drinks, wearing a wide grin on his face. However, the grin soon faded at one sight; Warees Blackwood, "The Professional" himself, entering his bar. The man was legend, not just here, but in taverns all across the land, notorious for his short temper and supposedly bottomless stomach. Whole towns had been destroyed in his drunken wake, or so rumors said.

"Evenin' to ya'" Warees said, surprisingly relaxed and calm compared to what the rumors had made him out to be. "I don' suppose ya' know if a few strangers passed through her'?"

"Er...Well..." The barkeep stuttered, debating how to handle the given situation. "Any criteria or description."

"Soldiers. Ya' know, with swords an' whatnot. Servants of the king."

"N-no. Nope. Haven't seen anyone like that in awhile."

"Ah...I see." Warees muttered. "Thanks anyway. I'll keep searchin-" It was at the moment, that suddenly, without warning, a glass bottle exploded at his feet.

"Da' hell?" Warees turned around, carefully examining the crowd for any traces of who could've been trying to hit him. "Who da' fuck threw dat' at me!?" With the scream, the bar fell to silence, becoming so quiet that one could hear a pin drop. "I want some fuckin' answers! Now!"

No response.

"Oh, I see how it is! Yar' all in on it, eh!?" Warees growled, obviously having lost all sensibility when he wasn't given what he demanded. "Well, yar' not the only ones who can get violent round here!" And so, he reached for a bottle that was on the counter behind him, and threw it into the ground, hitting another, meaner looking individual, a few inches above the eyebrow.

A riot soon followed.

Well, this is gonna be fun.

And in case you're wondering, Warees is looking for you guys, so yeah...

EDIT: And...I'm off to bed in a few minutes. Expect followup brawling tomorrow.

"You're no less welcome than the fiend we've brought from the mountains. Whether you accompany us or not, we intend to be properly treated, and fed, and rested here this night... And it had better be soon, before it becomes so late that even the taverns close."

She nodded, nudged her steed with her heels, and progressed through the town gates. She left the child to be the responsibility of Aer'rad--he'd seemed to like him enough.

Her first order of business would be to deposit Dworgen somewhere.

Vik'nar addressing the yet unnamed knight, "Well let's at least find a quiet room at the inn to discuss this, rather than standing agape out here on the road. Besides I still need to find someone to set this arm properly and I want a proper meal, which means finding myself a kitchen."

"What is your name Ser Knight?"

As the group moves towards the inn hoping to find some relief from their wounds and aches of travels... the all to familiar sound of fighting can be heard coming from within.

"I am glad to be a part of this group. My name is Landon Garth." Landon followed the group and heard the sound of fighting. He kept his hand on his sword, ready to use it.

What Skaar found in Landon's mind was his determination on finding his father's killers and his need to help others.
