Skaar shook his head "We should have cremated him and be done with it. The body will attract attention here..." He muttered to the sergeant, before swinging his leg over the side of his steed and dismounting. He lead the horse to the stable outside the inn, and make a curt gesture with his hand indicating that the others should follow suit.

Ellondra frowned as she dismounted, hauling the Dwarf onto her shoulder with a grimace.

"Doubtful," she murmured in response, "Whatever's going on in there is much more interesting than this sack of roots, doesn't it seem so?"

Landon and Vik'nar seemed resolved to go inside... She herself was heading in quite the opposite direction.

"Don't get killed. I'll not be carrying you as well."

Ellondra left in search of a gravekeeper.

With a raise of an eyebrow, "Hmmm, wait did you say Garth? Any relation to Tristan Garth of Herelden?" The sever-elf was well connected in the city, in addition to spending most of his life there. The surname was instantly recognizable to him.

---

Upon reaching the tavern and hearing the great commotion inside, "Oh Gyia be damned, it's as if the Great Mother herself has made it her personal goal to make this task more complicated than need be."

"Don't get killed. I'll not be carrying you as well." ,calls back Ellondra as she marches away with the body of Dworgen.

I'd nearly forgotten about those two. I guess someone should still do something about the scout. Traitor or not, I'd best get his remains returned to whatever family he might have in Flemworth. I doubt anyone else would do more than kick him into a ditch.

A tavern patron comes flying out the door kicking up a bit of dust. Vik'nar turning to Skaar and anyone else that looked to be venturing inside, "Well you all have fun with that, I'm going to go make arrangements to get our uhhhh 'dearly' departed scout returned to the Flemwood." Vik'nar sets his mount to trot off, with the scout's horse in tow, towards the market in hopes of finding a caravan headed that way. He'd also planned to try and restock his daggers and talk to a few contacts in town.

Skaar shrugged, and stepped inside the tavern, casting a cool glance about the raging interior. He made his way through the brawl by walking on the outerlying edge of the tavern, avoiding the swirling, frenzied moshpit in the center of the room as he made his way towards the bar. Ducking under a thrown chair, he seated himself at the bar-counter, and tossed a tarnished silver coin onto the counter. "Ale" He muttered to the barkeep, drumming his fingers against the bartop as he waited.

When the man had returned with his drink, he snatched the flagon from his hand and pulled back his own hood, unclasping the set of straps at the lower-half of his helm so he could bring the flagon to his lips while keeping his face concealed from view.

"Yes. He is my late father. Killed by a group of assassins. I've sworn to find those assassins and revenge my father's death." Landon said with a hint of sadness.

---

Landon stood outside the tavern, waiting for anyone else to show signs of going inside. When Skaar entered, Landon followed and began searching for the origin of the fight.

Ok...wow you guys have posted alot! Anyways...

They stood outside the door to the Inn for awhile before finally Skaar entered the Tavern and Ra'ive quickly followed suit, he cracked a smile when he saw the scene before him.

'Oh yes I remember this inn' he thought as he walked awkwardly over the the bar. Once he reached it he threw the fifteen gold needed at the bartender and saw a slight look of recognition in his eye. When the bartender had pocketed the gold and directed him to his room he wasted no time heading off upstairs.

Once he was inside his room (after fastening the door shut) he took off his mask, ate a small pinch of Ceaweed and lay stretched out over the bed. He lay there letting the Ceaweed take effect and letting himself drift off into much needed sleep.

The town is surrounded by a large wooden wall and it's almost a perfect circle in shape.

Middle: A large market place area with lots of open booths and over a dozen shops, inns and bookstores.

South: Earl Swer recides there in his mansion. The mansion is walled off by an avergae sized stone wall, guarded by two watchtowers with archers and the walls are lined with spear men. At the front gates (portculis) are guarded 24/7 by heavily armored guards with shields and swords.

East: A big tower, rumored to be haunted. It's been closed for quite some time, and armored men with claymores guard it's entry, claiming that the ghosts inside must not be released. Also known for being quite the crazy's in town.

West: One of two gates leading to the road to Flemwood. There is a caravan station and a mailing station there. Also a large inn, known for the great comfort in the sleeping quarters. Inn is called "The last rest" and is known for it's past, when soldiers used it for barracks and a medical station in the past wars.

North: One of two gates, this one leading to the Northern Mountains. This wing is the housing area for hundreds of people.

Architecture: All the houses looks finely made, but still old. Swaere has seen many battles, and therefor are still many houses and places covered with construction sites where re-building is taking place. Almost every house is made from stone and with a wood roof, except for the houses in the North, where the homes for poor families are usually old wooden shacks or very old wooden houses. Most houses have a sort of a white marble texture, making Swaere one of the finest towns in the East.

Enjoy the weekend, and feel free to make up any secondary quests in Swaere, for I have nothing at all planned except to leave for Herelden. Have fun! :D
Afrosan will the trusted with armor and weapon prices, along with secondary quest rewards and subjects on that matter.

The son of the late Tristan Garth, hmmm. I doubt this one was in associate of the scouts's schemes. I'd heard about the murder of his father, the contract hadn't come to my organization so it might have been The Guild that fulfilled the order. I should send word to San'tar to start looking into that, I could gain a powerful ally for my plans in Herelden.

---

Making arrangements to have the scout's remains transported to the Flemwoods proves a simple enough task. Merchant caravans leave Swaere laden with silk for Wesburg, but they leave available space to pick up pretty much anything they can get a good price on in Flemworth and Herelden. He also takes the opportunity to draft a letter to be carried to San'tar in Herelden.

He tracks down a local healer and pays her the 60g to properly set his arm. After aligning the bone her assistants splint and wrap the arm. It would still be a few weeks before he regained full mobility, but the swelling goes down and he regains some limited movement.

After returning to the market, he places an order with a blacksmith to duplicate one of his throwing daggers he provides as a sample, making sure he understands to get the balance and weight right.

"Excuse me ser, I can mend those cuts in your tunic for a good price." Calls out a seamstress as he passes through the market stalls. Vik'nar hadn't notices how tattered his clothes had become, he strips out of his tunic and borrows another shirt to return once he'd finished his business. He spends a little while seemingly passing in and out of various pavilions, examining goods and speaking to merchants - just another patron to even the most observant eyes. He's actually meeting with contacts, making drops to pick up on a second pass and seeing what information a few greased palms might offer up.

Vik'nar's network doesn't have a large presence in Swaere so most of what he picks up is local gossip and superstition. The only tidbit of note was a man known as The Professional was asking around for a group of agents from the King.

After collecting his mended tunic and new set of throwing dagger, Vik'nar slips into the tavern's kitchen through the back door. Sadly the man is convinced at the sever-elfs claim to commandeering the kitchen in the King's name, but a few gold convinces him to take the night off. Vik'nar begins barking orders to the kitchen staff, stepping in personally when needed, and a fine meal begins to take shape. In addition to the rest of the bar fare increasing considerably in quality and taste.

60g medical
10g mended clothes
14g throwing daggers *assuming the price is 2g per
6g in bribes
---
90g total

Landon had noticed his armor and sword had sustained small damage after his battles with the various creatures on the way to Swaere. He decided that it would be a good idea to find a blacksmith that'd be willing to fix it.

He left the tavern and walked around Swaere to find a blacksmith. After walking for a while he found a blacksmith.
"Excuse me, good sir. Could you fix my armor and sword? They seem to have sustained small damage on my way to Swaere." Landon asked the blacksmith.
"No problem. Give me 10 pieces of gold and a few minutes and it's as good as new." the blacksmith replied.

Landon handed the man 10 gold pieces and the armor and his sword and sat down while the blacksmith began fixing his armor.
After about 15 minutes or so, he was finished and handed Landon back his armor and sword.
"As I promised, good as new." the blacksmith said as he handed the armor and sword to Landon.
"Thank you, good sir. I am pleased with your work." Landon replied.
"Take care, now." the blacksmith said.

Landon put the armor back on and sheathed his sword. He made his way back to the tavern to see if the others were there.
Repairs: 10g
Total left to buy some other stuff: 290g

Ra'ive awoke feeling slightly lightheaded but still relaxed, he had no idea how long he had slept for but it had done hime some good. He stood awkwardly, retrieved his mask, secured it and headed downstairs.

Once downstairs he took a seat in a dark corner where he had an almost panoramic view of the inn and more importantly a view of the door. He began tinkering with and fixing his claws, waiting for another party member to arrive with news on when they would ride out. However he would need to visit a doctor before then but he figured that from the state of the party no-one was going anywhere for a long time.

Ellondra mopped the sweat from her brow with the cuff of her sleeve.

"Fort'nately, Dwarves are eighty percent hair," the old gravekeeper wheezed, "They go up like a torch. Still gonna take a bit, though."

"That'll be fine. I'll return for the ashes before we leave town." The Sergeant stowed away the few items Dworgen had had on his person in a box to pick up with the urn and paid the man for his services with the gold he'd been carrying. With that errand taken care of, she knew her next order of business would be to get her wounds treated, and quickly.

Except that the price they were charging to stitch her up was astronomical. Poor though she wasn't, she wouldn't spend her money so flippantly. When she refused the healer's help, the woman asked if she was certain, to which Ellondra replied, "Just give me what I need--I'll do it myself."

While the smithy worked at her falchion to beat the dent out of it, and clean and sharpen it back to perfect condition, she was in his back room with hot water, an open flame, a salve she'd purchased from the healer for infection, the needle and the surgical thread. She cleaned the gash carefully, and, biting down on a bit of wadded cloth, she took the red-hot needle and stitched up her torn flesh.

Expenditures: 75g for thread, needle, salve, and herbs for fever. 40g to repair her weapon and armor. 235g left to be spent on completely different things.

Hmmm...You're a relatively fast bunch.

@Malifact: In case you're wondering, you're the guy I'm referring to in the latter half of this post.

@Everyone: I've taken notice that a good deal of you aren't in our little RPing club, [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/The-RP-Regulars-definitely-not-the-3W-Stalker-Club] and seeing as you're all a fairly talented bunch, I feel as though you'd all make great additions. So yeah, go nuts.

The fight had calmed down for the most part, with those defeated lying on the floor either in pain or knocked unconscious. Fortunately, Warees had managed to hold his own, fending off waves upon waves of drunken brawlers with little more than good fortune and bar stool. A mere handful of drunks remained standing, and the good majority of them were simply trying to get out of the way.

Warees, of course, was still engaging in the fight, bludgeoning one poor sap over the head with the remaining leg of the stool, having had it broken into pieces during the conflict. With a single, almost otherworldly scream, the berserker brought the piece of broken furniture down a final time, connecting with downed fellow's back.

"One again, The Professional is victorious!" He bellowed, holding his arms up proudly and flexing, no doubt oblivious to numerous cuts on his person. Satisfied with his achievement, he turned back towards the counter, only to see that someone had taken the one remaining seat. "Who da' fuck do you think you are takin' my seat?!" It wasn't his seat to be honest, though he figured that if anyone should get the seat, it may as well be the guy who beat the living shit out of everyone else in the bar.

Ra'ive looked up as he heard the pleasing crack of the stool being broken or was that the sound of the mans back, it mattered not. He re-assembled his claws and stood just as the winner of the bar fight walked over to Skaar.

But however much he would have liked to see Skaar rip apart the poor mans greymatter (what little of it there appeared to be), he needed to head out and see if he couldn't get somthing done about his damned leg.

When he stepped outside and began to walk north, towards where he knew he could get fixed up and maybe get a fix in the other sense of the word.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

His first stop was the home of his Swaere 'squeeze' Ai'dral, she may be good for the occasional 'visits' but her real skill was her ability to heal seemingly any wound or injury and so when he left a couple hours later his leg (along with the rest of him) feeling considerably better. It would take awhile before his leg was back to 100% but it was atleast functional now and he didn't need to be cautious or shy away from any fights.

Next he began to scour the alleyways until he found a raggedy old man selling various illegal substances. He bought two full pouches of Ceaweed and Blackrock, it cost him a pretty penny but since they were heading back to Herelden to get their reward he figured he could afford it.

After paying the man he began to head back to the inn to see if the he could find anyone else from their group and find out if (though he greatly doubted it) they had any plan for when they would move out.

Expenditures:
Healthcare free
Drugs 100 gold (70 for the Blackrock)

When Ra'ive arrived, Ellondra was standing in the doorway. It was sans door and hinges, having lost them at some point during the brawl that had taken out many of the patrons and equivalent amounts of furniture. Her sword was out; it was still hot from the smithy.

"What in the hells is going on in here?"

"Put the sword away, it was just a simple bar brawl. Before I left however someone was starting on Skaar for there may be considerably more damage" he said a small smile appearing on his lips as he spoke.

"Have you dealt with Dworgen and when do we move out?" he continued as he took out his pipe so it was ready for smoking once they were inside.

"Dworgen is being cremated. I'll bring his ashes to Herelden, and surely someone there can send them home to his family. As for moving out..." Ellondra considered telling him of the scout's meeting with questionable authorities here in Swaere. Then she remembered he was Ra'ive, and therefore never in a coherent state of mind. "...I'm sure we'll leave after we've dined and rested. Tomorrow morning, the afternoon at the latest."

She picked at her fresh bandages in idleness.

"Why...? Are you restless?"

"I am just looking forward to getting paid and getting a rest" he replied as he studied Ellondra's face for a moment, there was somthing she wasn't telling him. He tried not to care but..

"Is there some reason you wish to linger here? I mean apart from the fine wines?" he continued.

She quirked an immaculately skeptical eyebrow, "Are there fine wines in Swaere? And I thought all they farmed were silk."

Her hand went to the bag over her shoulder that contained the Gryphon's eggs.

"There are bandits and beasts enough on the road between here and the palace, and I want to be prepared before we leave again. The Sever-Elf is short an arm, and we've picked up... That." She nodded with little subtlety towards Skaar. "...I feel that something here is far more serious than we've been anticipating."

"...I feel that something here is far more serious than we've been anticipating."

"How so?" he asked as he folded his arms and leant further agains the wall. Despite having his rational mind yelling at him to 'get the money and run' he still felt he needed to know more, to help even. Maybe it was the Ceaweed?

Ok this may be my penultimate post tonight. I'm sorry guys but its quater to one here

"Hn."

Ellondra watched him carefully as though she'd suddenly inherited Skaar's ability to bore into one's mind, mask or no. Then she shrugged.

"Let's speak of it later."

The Sergeant stepped carefully over and around the destroyed tables and chairs, picking her way through the wreckage to the barkeep. "I need a room for the night. It's all right, I'll wait."
