Vik'nar was not often a man taken off guard, but when Ellondra, a human and a sergeant of the Guard no less, subtlety changes her demeanor towards him. The sever-elf all but fumbles out, "Oh the arm. It should do for now, but perhaps you might give it a proper set once we make camp off this mountain. Were my arm a crown roast of lamb though, I would be more certain in my ability to tie it off properly." While raising an eyebrow and flashing the hint of a smile with his last comment about the roast.

Speaking of which, I should stage a hostile take over of an inn's kitchen the first we stay in one, whip up a decent meal. Hmmmm I wonder if I can commandeer a kitchen as an agent of the King?

The group ventured down the mountain. A few steep paths and a dozen or so slips and some tumbling rocks, but everyone seemed to have gotten used to the whole mountain-climbing-idea and were soon at their horses.

The horses were uneasy as the Death Knight approached them, but as they saw the rest of the group their temper cooled and they just stomped, remarking that they did not like this one bit.

The dusk was breaking and you could just spot some of the stars peaking out of the clouds above.
The moon hung like a giant eye, watching their every footstep.

From carrying Dworgen all this way, Ellondra was feeling the most tired of all, and her shoulder was starting to get more bruised.

Vik'nar's bruises were really getting to him, and his fractured arm was starting to swell up from the lousy treatment.

However, the morale was good even in the midsts of all this pain and chaos, because they had what they were looking for, and Swaere was the morning stop for food and rest.

I will be going tomorrow and I won't be back until Sunday afternoon. Now, this will either be on hold, or someone I can trust will take over for a little while. There won't be any interent connection there, and if I can, I will introduce the new players before I leave tomorrow.

Gnite, and PM me if you think you can GM this while I'm gone, otherwise, it's on hold if no-one does...! :D

The Sergeant was relieved at least to get to her mount; she slung the body of the Dwarf behind her saddle and secured him there. Not respectful, perhaps... But it would have to do for now. Feeling much more at home on her horse, and massaging the soreness out of her shoulder, she reined the animal around and towards the road that would take them to Sweare.

"It's getting dark. Remain alert."

Ellondra, her mount prancing a bit to work the cold out of his muscles before the journey, dug through the Scout's bag for the papers she'd seen previously. They'd need to know particularly where to go once Dworgen had been... dealt with. While she was digging around in there, she also found the rest of the dried fruit she was carrying, realizing as she bit off a large piece that they'd not eaten since last night.

Gyia provides. Gaudan protects

Your mission is to guide the travelers to the Gryphon lair. Once you are there, you must take one of the eggs present before they manage to destroy them all. Take the egg and bring it to Swaere. Explain that your orders were to escort them to the Nest only, and not back to Herelden. Once you are in Swaere, you need to locate a house next to the tavern, wielding a red banner on the rooftop. At the door, knock twice, and enter. Once inside, speak the password and hand over the egg.
Retrieve your payment in the old stone fountain in the square.
Destroy this note anyway necessary, by all means must this note not land into the hands of the travelers. May the Gods watch over you.
Gyia provides. Gaudan protects

Her eyes skimmed over it quickly. The premise seemed basic enough: House next to tavern, red banner, knock twice...

Gaudan protects.

Ellondra's lips pursed. She read it again. Take an egg before they destroy them all. Bring it to Swaere. Hand it over. By all means must this note not land into the hands of the travelers.

Gaudan protects.

Something inside her turned white-hot and seethed. They'd been traveling with a traitor to the crown! Suddenly the elf's death didn't seem quite so unjust--Not that it absolved Skaar. But, for that matter, the black knight had said he'd read the note... Then, did he know?

She looked over her shoulder and mentally cursed before looking ahead again.

As far as Ellondra could determine, she had two options. The first: alert her teammates to the danger ahead and avoid it. The second: track down these infidels and arrest the lot of them. And she knew which option she personally would choose--Justice. However, their injuries...

With a quick eye, she evaluated the others. Ra'ive seemed to be uncooperative on the best of days, and Vik'nar's arm was broken and would require time to heal. Her own wounds notwithstanding... She placed a hand over her stomach. Blood was already seeping through the layers of bandage there, from the strain of carrying Dworgen down the mountain. And the state of her sword was pathetic.

And yet.

She glanced again to Skaar.

Vik'nar pulls himself up into the saddle, a task which proved to be quite precarious with the use of only one arm. "I don't know about you all, but I for one am ready to leave these mountains."

"No offence", nodding to Skaar.

Skaar shrugged nonaffermidly, his gaze slowly turning to meet that of the Sergeants. He rose from where he sat, hunched over at the edge of the campsite, and slowly made his way towards the women "You are injured. Let me tend the wound." It was not an offer made out of compassion, but one of practicality; the party, in it's current state, was damn-near useless. They needed to patch themselves up, and quickly, before they could move on.

"Yes Vik'nar, I too cannot wait to be rid of these retched peaks" he replied, however unlike Vik'nar he made no attempt to avoid insulting Skaar

Ra'ive shifted uncomfortably on his mount, the trip down the mountain had deteriorated the condition of his leg further and he was sure that if they had not gotten back to the horses so soon he would have been unable to walk. The thought of asking for help from the rest of the group was enough to make him shiver.

He noticed Ellondra reading somthing with a concerned look on her face, normally he would have inquired but he feared that if he did it may delay their trip to Sweare. Instead he opened his poach of Ceaweed, took out a small clump and was about to lift his mask so he could consume it when he remembered their first encounter with Skaar and what had almost happened.

'Perhaps not' he thought to himself as he replaced the Ceaweed and secured the poach to his cloak. He would not be caught off guard like he had before, especially with his knee being in its current condition. Instead he took a large drink from his canteen and sat, waiting impatiently for the rest of the party to get ready.

"Tend to that one," she gestured with a toss of her head toward the Sever-Elf. "If you must mother something."

Ellondra stuffed the letter back into her bag. They still had time: the journey itself to Sweare, and then making arrangements for Dworgen's remains. Renewing supplies, most certainly a meal... She would be able to make a firmer decision afterward. One thing she knew for sure, however.

She needed to destroy these last eggs at the earliest available opportunity.

Her heels went into the flanks of her mount and she took lead of the party towards town.

((>_< Can't tend it if we're already running off))

He shrugged "As you say. But you'd best get that wound under wraps... especially if it's been infected. The Gryphons aren't the most sanitary of beasts" It was true; the beasts claws were covered in years of grime and rotted filth, a surefire way to spread infection through a wound. Seeing her mount up, he did likewise, soothing the mind of the Scout's horse and straddling the beasts awkardly; it had been years since he'd ridden horseback, and even then he'd never had formal training. The journey to town would be.... unpleasant... to say the least.

If no one is able to GM, can we still free form around Sweare without initiating the next encounter by showing up to the meeting? Most of the players are nursing some hurts. So it would make sense that with no apparent deadline to the drop off, other than their own sense of urgency, that they might bide their time a bit.

I was thinking along those lines too Slycne. I wouldn't want to miss anything Jav3lin has planned for us on the way but I also dont want to wait for 2-3 days because the RP is going well and I'd like to keep it up, especially since I just got over a chronic case of writers block. I guess its up to you guys, I'd like to continue but I'm not to fussed about waiting.

My plans changed and I'll be leaving tomorrow midday. I'll be able to post tonight, but nothing tomorrow.
I will put the group in Swaere now, and yes, you can free-form Swaere as much as you like. I will also set up introduction for new players so that they don't have to wait until Sunday to join.

The morning sun was almost out and the orange, purple and golden ray's shone through the clouds like arrows, piercing it's enemies. Beautiful and awing.

Behind them rested the mighty mountains, and their stamina was drained thin as they neared the town of Swaere.
The town's front gates, connected to a large wooden wall that seperated the town from the wilderness, stay mighty and open as over a dozen armed men came running out of them.

Ahead of the men was one young boy, wearing poor rags and no shoes. The boy just kept running, until he neared the group.
He got down on his knees and with tears in his eyes, clamped his hands together and begged the travelers to protect him from the men chasing him.

The armed men came to a halt twenty meters away from the group.

"Do you protect this man?!"
One man called out as he stepped out from his four men surrounding him.
He wore a chainmail helmet on his head, followed by a matching outfit.
The rest of the men wore the same sort of adjustments, but this man was different.
His eyes and his posture stood out from the others, like he was the man in charge.

Two of his men raised put their crossbows on the ground and slowly put in a bolt each.
Two carried sword and shield and drew their weapons.

The men looked dangerous, but their threat was not yet with the group.

"Stand your ground and release this man! He is of no concern of yours! Unless you protect him.... if that is the case, then you will fall"

The man in charge called out again, a grin widened his face, like he was praying for a fight.

Aer'rad positioned the boy behind him and looked up at the men.

"I don't know any man you speak of because all I see is a frightened boy. I can't see any reason you would need to attack a defenseless child."

Aer'rad unsheathed his bow and grabbed an arrow out of his quiver and pointed it at at the man in charge's head.

"If you want him you'll have to go through me."

The man in charge readies his longsword. He carries no shield, but his movements suggest that he is more than capable of handling himself without one in battle.

"Most unwise!"

The man starts to walk calmly, holding his hand straight down with a finger mark, waiting to signal his men to attack.

"Last chance! This man has crimes to be punished for, and he will be punished! HAND HIM OVER!"

The boy whimpers behind Aer'rad and grasps his legs firmly, shakingly crying out;
"Please! They are lying! They are a band of thieves and they are after my whole family! Please! You must help me!"

The man throws his hand forward and the two men raise their crossbows and take aim.

"LIES! Hand him over NOW! Or you will pay the price of death as well!"
The man points his sword toward the group and the two men behind him carrying the shield and sword come beside him and raise their shields with their swords on top, ready to strike and defend their leader.

Skaar gazed down imperiously at the ragged band, unfettering his daemonic powers and reaching out to grasp the minds of those in front of him, slipping in through the cracks in their conciousness to determine who here spoke the truth. Stalling for time as he infiltrated their minds, he called out "And what do you charge this boy with? What crime has he committed to warrant the attention of you and your men?"

The man up front calls to the group once more.

"This RAT stole from the merchants in the town square.... and it is not the first time he has been caught doing it ether. He must be punished for his crimes, for otherwise he will not learn!"

The boy lets go of the elf's feet and shakingly crawls a little bit away, his back to the ground and his eyes fixed on the man pointing the sword at them.

"They're going to take my hand! TAKE MY HAND! You hear me? Those barbarians, they have no right! I didn't do nothing wrong! Those merchants are stealing from the commons in town, those things I stole were MINE! MINE YA HEEAR!?"

The man up front, now fueled with such rage, calls out, it's almost like a scream.

"By the LAWS of Swaere, are you to be executed if you do not obey me and my men! Now, stand down adventurers, and HAND HIM OVEHR!"

I've noticed people keep writing Swaere wrong, and it kind of bugs me :(

Oh, and picture the boy with a heavy irish accent. Actually, that's kind of the Swaere accent for everyone...

EDIT: I will update more tomorrow morning right before I unplug my computer.
Page #3 Post #100 has been updated with 'players involved' and their sheets as well. Read it please!

Ah, the town of Swaere. It is nice to finally reach it. I can hopefully get something to eat here. Haven't had a decent meal for a while, now.

Landon had been traveling for a few days now from Herelden. He had encountered many beasts on his way and slain the ones that had attacked him. Thanks to his father's training, he was in shape and his many sword techniques helped him overcome many of the obstacles on the way. His bag felt a bit heavy after all this time, even if he didn't carry much in it.

He noticed a commotion. A group of five unusual bunch were near a boy and five other people.

What is going on there? Landon thought to himself and walked towards the crowd, his hand on his sword in case he needed to use it.
I hope this is a good enough entry...

Aer'rad knelt down by the boy,"Don;t worry I wont let them hurt you.

Aer'rad finishing tussling the boys hair then turned back to the men. He turned back to the men and lowered his bow.

"Let me pay for what the boy stole. It couldn't have been that much. That way we can all go on with our lives."

"We will... discipline... him for you. I assure you, once I'm done with him... he'll never, ever set his grubby little hands on that which does not belong to him. Ever. Again." Skaar chuckled, a low, menacing sound which bore not the slightest resemblence to a human expression of mirth.
